I like Magmin because the PCs are like, "Oh, that guy went down easy", and then he EXPLODES! Great video BTW!

Great Video. Perfect for starter with Dwarven Forge. I love my Hellscape Terrain. Just used it last Weekend. As Monsters in Hell we had a 2-headed Hellhound Cerberus (bought it from Schleich, prepainted and cheap) and a Horned Devil. This worked great!

And picked up a core. Already backed their Hellscape ks, but didn't really have any walls. That will really hell flesh out the 20th lvl encounter I have planned with the best monster to go with Hellscape.... 🔥An Ancient Red Dragon🔥

I absolutely love my Hellscape pieces. From the moment I saw them it blew me away more than any other DF product. You definitely don't want to encounter a Balor in a massive, treacherous Hellscape nightmare of a cave!

A goose hydra in Hellscape always makes for a fun session! Awesome video, nice work.

I like the Large elemental Salamander as a firery monstrosity to combat! Great job with the video! Looking forward to more tabletop reviews! :)

Awesome video as always! I think a three headed hell dog that lights up is the most apparent monster.

I'd love to run a Hellscape encounter that culminates with a battle against a Pit Fiend. One of my friends has a Pit Fiend miniature that he's had since we were kids and I've always been fascinated by it. I'd love to borrow it as the conclusion of a heroic journey through He'll!

Love these videos, great to see more Dwarven Forge being reviewed. For me, the best monster to face in hellscape is the Glabrezu, a great monster with good action economy

Definitely getting one of the bundles for my descent into Avernus game I'm running. Demons and devils will be right at home

Last time we were in a hellish setting like this we were beset by Salamanders. There was much burninating happening.

I love my DF dungeons and regular caverns, but this is so niche I don't think I can justify adding them to my collection. The lava river is really cool especially with the lighting effects though! If my players were to play in this terrain, I would definitely would throw some fire elementals at them and bring out my huge fire elemental miniature even though 5e doesn't naturally have stats for the huge sized elementals.

I imagine encountering horrifying HELL HOUNDS in these caverns

Definitely going to go big with this one and say Zariel, Lord of the first layer of the nine hells, Avernus. Former Angel turned Archdevil.

How about a group of Magma Mephits? Seems like they would live there. Nice video, I appreciate the detailed camera work and the honest review. As cool as the lights are, the sliding around would drive me crazy.

The monster I would throw at players would be the Errtu (Balor from the Legend of Drizzt game) model I've had for probably 8 years, but finally painted over the last couple weeks

Of course one has to meet an illuminated Cerebus mini from DF on all that Hellscape. That beasty looked really cook on my builds.

This is a beautiful set! However the price tag matched with how specific this biome is makes it a difficult trigger to pull. I feel like my cash goes to bread and butter pieces like dungeons, cities, and standard caverns, with special biomes like ice, castles, lava, or under doom being so specific that the extra cost associated with the intricacy of the molds prices them outside of their usefulness (in my case). I would love to see a solution like magma rivers and banks that would be in the $250 price point that could be added to your standard caverns to flavor builds more than recreate bread and butter pieces. Though, if you’re doing a campaign in this setting then these would be definitely more useful!

I'd want my party to find a whole city of demons down here!

I’ll be using stirges for my lower level party. Not sure if they’re in the right habitat besides caverns but that’s what I have. Lava itself is foe and obstacle within itself.

Excellent review. I enjoy seeing videos like these that highlight a great company and a great product. I think the d&d monster you would most likely face in a hellscape setting would be a Pit Fiend.

Spine devil that came with the original sets is a good possibility. Fire elemental also works well. But for my bang, I want to throw out a pit fiend.

Monster most likely to encounter in this would have to be the classic Beholder with perhaps Kobolds running amuck.

Definitely love Dwarven forge....I picked up the dungeon of doom and a friend of mine got the recent forestscape. This set does look amazing and perfect for an adventure through hell!

Love Hellscape bought a tone of it and yea the light panels are a pain but just bunt up some planks aside it and the panels do not move, And I use this terrain a lot when going to Avernace. Lots of demons and devils. Practically anything from Balder's Gate set would fit nicely here.

I backed the Kickstarter, but only bought a few floors, not I want to get some banks so I have a way to transition to them. I would want to run a fire elemental who could summon minions from lava pools.
@fakingitwithstyle2 жыл бұрын
Very cool terrain! I always like throwing elementals at my players, so a fire elemental feels like my natural pick. Also, just wanted to add at the start of your video you mention a $50 gift certificate giveaway, but at the end of the video you say $25.

Huh I like that idea of an acrylic sheet to elevate and illuminate the build. It doesn't solve the sliding issue, but I'll think about it and see if I can come up with another solution.
@TheGentlemanWake2 жыл бұрын
Actually, a magnet UNDERNEATH the acrylic would work to hold in a specific piece. With enough magnets you could create a perimeter of 'locked' pieces to hold in the boundary of your build. I do think there would be a bit of sliding but with strong enough magnets no problem.
@merck__2 жыл бұрын
@@TheGentlemanWake yeah some magnets just under the corners could really help lock in the build. Another idea I'm kicking around is if there is a clear coating that could be applied to increase the friction on the acrylic sheet and help prevent sliding. But unsure if that kind of product even exists.

My favorite monster in hell is one I created.. I fondly have named them "cuties". Of course in Avernus you have bearded devils, barbed devils, imps.. I created a annoying little creature, summoned in large swarms.. they blink and swarm their victims, clawing and biting, laughing and giggling the entire time. easy to kill, they pop like a balloon with enough strikes, but their gore and guts splatter all over our heros covering them in a mass of disgusting vile guts... So far I just started this campaign.. so more creations to come.. so far.. I really enjoy these cuties.. there damn annoying, adorable and deadly.. :)
