I noticed a few mistakes in this video. 1. The easternmost point of mainland Chile is actually very far south nearby an Argentinian town called Monte Dinero. 2. The easternmost part of Greenland is not as far east as you think because you were looking at the 3d projection from a wrong angle. The easternmost part of Greenland is a little bit west of Ireland instead of being east of the UK. 3. The continent is called Oceania, not Oceana.

It would've been nice if you were CONSISTENT in defining extremes, like defining Mexico's, France's, or Denmark's extremes to their islands or territories but limiting Chile's and Australia's extremes to their mainland. These are definite distractors in watching more of your videos!

This. It would have been better to make a video only for mainland territories and another video for combining the two lol. Like it's just so weird to consider greenland (huge) far away from (small) denmark but NOT consider cape horn in chile which would just be a couple extra hundred kms south of a pretty large country?? (Also southernmost point in all the non-antartica continents)

Such inconsistencies are common on this and the other AI “documentary” channels plaguing KZbin these days. When the AI finds multiple datasets while “researching” it tends to either randomly choose one to present, or worse, it attempts to combine them but does so in ways that don’t make any sense, creating videos that are inconsistent and very often factually inaccurate.

That pin for Cape Spear is quite a way off; it looks like St. Anthony or L'Anse aux Meadows has been pinned - about 1000km by car from where Cape Spear actually is . Also, Cape Spear is not on St-Pierre et Miquelon, it's on the island of Newfoundland (Canadian province), 15km east of St. John's (capital city of Newfoundland & Labrador)

He restricted it to “mainland” Chile so technically no since that’s not attached by land. I still think it should’ve been included after the mainland bit was done, as well as the few Pacific islands it has. Same for the non-mainland bits of Australia and Norway. Especially since Norway has Bouvet Island and that’s a way more interesting geographical quirk than just finding the top part on a map.

I noticed several mistakes in this video. You didn’t include the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, & Curaçao) which are constituent countries in the Kingdom of Denmark. One of these would be the southernmost and westernmost points. You referenced Continental Australia. There is a difference between the continent of Australia and the country of Australia. The continent of Australia also includes the island of New Guinea. You should clarify the difference between the continent and the country.

The ABC are not part of Denmark they are part of the Netherlands. Continent is a vague term that doesn't actually have a set meaning, it's very debatable whether New Guinea is part of the Australian continent. Either way, when one says "continental" part of a country it only refers to that country

Geography Bible, how and when did Costa Rica end up being the southernmost country in Central America, and thus, North America, when Panama is south of it, and with the Darien Gap conveniently located between these 2 countries, in all my 76 years, I've it said that it's the dividing line. Your definition of "just north" is a bit broader than that of most people, in that Mt. Denali and Anchorage are separated by approx. 135 mi./217 km. In response to your offer, I have 3 places in the US which certainly qualify as weird border points. First off, heading east, is Pt. Roberts, WA, in that it’s necessary to drive through Canada in order to get to the rest of the US, due to a surveying mistake during the setting of the 49th parallel as the border between the US and Canada during the Oregon Treaty signing in 1846; located on the tip of a peninsula in Puget Sound north of Seattle. Second is Minnesota’s Angle Inlet--the sole town in the Northwest Angle--cut off from the rest of the state by Lake of the Woods, necessitating a drive through Manitoba to get to the rest of the country, due to a border misunderstanding during the writing of the 1783 Treaty of Paris. Finally, there’s Hyder (HIGH-dur) which is in the Panhandle, or Southeast, of Alaska, normally served by the State Ferry System, but being east of the Coast Mtns., it’s cut off, making a flight, or a 441mi./710km. drive through Canada on the Cassiar (CASS-ee-er), Alaska and Klondike Hwys. necessary to get to Skagway--the nearest other town in AK by road.
