The India and Bangladesh situation was solved a couple of years ago by the two governments. They exchanged parcels of land to get rid of the enclaves. It was one of the most interesting situations before then.

Belgium and Germany also share a strange border. There is a small strip that belongs to Belgium and it separates a German exclave from main Germany.

I noticed two 'mistakes' in this video: - the city at the boarder of Belgium and the Netherlands is a 'mess' of enclaves and not just a city split in two. You definitely should have mentioned that - There are actually two unclaimed territories, the second one is in Antarctica

@sdrawkcabUK
@sdrawkcabUK Жыл бұрын
@@jamesfitzpatrick6627 not so much. The Irish border was just a placeholder based on old country boundaries pending a boundary commission (which was not acted on in the end). The model Welsh border is the results of several centuries of English-Welsh conflict

@trystandavies7249 6 ай бұрын
You get a lot of Welsh language place names just over the border. There was a golf course during the C-19 lockdown which was on the border - at one point half of the course was open and the other half closed.

Adding to the Oman - UAE border, there Oman controls a peninsula north of nawah. This means starting in Oman, you can cross the border 6 times in a strait line. From Oman, you cross into the uae then back into Oman, then back in the uae then back into Oman then back into the uae, then back into oman

The only reason you see on the mexican side houses next to the border but not on the US side, specifially here, is because this is an estuary as the Tijuana River's delta ends right there. But if you go further east, there are houses on both sides of the border. Yet, obviously, there is much more order on the US side, but that's all.

Fun fact : The complicated borders of enclaving India & Bangladesh was solved in recent years by both of the governments with mutual meets, both of the countries had to lose or gain lots of land to make border less complicated, in a result India lost more of the lands to the Bangladesh cause natives were in support of Bangladesh and good thing was, there's no major issue due to those territories unlike ind & pak, India just calmly gave up those lands and removed all the enclaves by making it 1 separate line of division. I mean in conclusion that was a good thing to do cause natives use to suffer alot due to border problems, that's been solved now. There's a little, very little disadvantage too, as some of the towns got divided into two as being fully in India & vice versa but ig that's what they wanted so I don't think it should be questioned.

Dannevirke in Denmark, Dannevirke is the Nordic region's largest defense structure and historical monument. It consists of ramparts and walls and was created and expanded from around the year 500 to approx. 1200. The work was to secure the kingdom's border to the south and stretched across Jutland between the fjord Slien and the river Trenen. At the latest in the 1864 war (2nd Schleswig War), Dannevirke functioned as a defense structure, and has an almost mythical role in Denmark's history.

just think how wrong we are saying DMZ is a demillatrised zone even though it is one of the world's heaviest guarded border
@niclasd.
@niclasd. 2 жыл бұрын
It actually makes sense calling it that way, because DMZ ≠ Korean boarder. The zone is the 4km buffer between the highly guarded boarders, where no military is allowed. So it makes sense calling it demilitarised zone.

@@PatricenotPatrick yes, you are right. I didn't know there were soldiers inside the DMZ. But my point is that it still makes sense calling it demilitarised zone because it is supposed to be demilitarised and the soldiers inside the zone need a permit to be there.

I grew up along the Mexico/US Border for 17 years. Used to go to the Reynosa Market every Saturday, water ski the Rio Grande River in the afternoons, and hit the Clubs at night after I was 16…a LOT has changed. It’s exceptionally dangerous not just across the Border but to live in the Valley (South Texas) now. If you visit, you go thru a Checkpoint two hours North of the Border at Falfurrias and then again at the Rio Grande River…yes, with dogs, car searches, etc..

I was going to say France is the closest European country to Australia but you beat me too it! If you travel to New Caledonia the flag of the European Union is flying also!
