Great video, thanks for keeping the music low , good choice of music ! My grandfather used to ride on the old rail cars about the size of that one except it had a 250cc two stroke engine underneath that propelled it for the work crew. They would flip it over onto the tracks then push it whichever direction they wanted to go, it would run either way.

Okay, I'll tell you what: how about you go down there and clear away the landslides and clear off the brush and scrub, and fix up the grade crossings. How about you invest your money, take care of the line, and appreciate it. And just what will be the "massive" social advantage, the economic gain, the strategic import of doing that? If there's not enough to get you to drop what you're doing and skedaddle down there to get it done, then you are talking through your hat. The rail line had a purpose,. it served it, it is no longer useful. The sentiment that a ribbon of steel is necessarily a "massive" asset is silly.
@vincent75205 жыл бұрын
@@louisc.gasper7588 It may well be that the rail line could be useful to the local people… but they are not taken into account in the bigger scheme of things planned by the city people. That's what @A Freeman who started this thread is trying to say. And he's right. We have zillions of infrastructures that were built and poorly maintained as soon as money got invested elsewhere… and making local people poorer…

I know parts of your country can be dangerous, and I gather access to heavy machinery is an issue, but I can see tourists paying good money for a ride like that. Both for the fun of what the ride is, and seeing the countryside in its "natural" state; farmers, sheep and cows beside the tracks, the overgrown bits, and regular Columbians just going about their business. It looks like a lot of fun and if I could afford to, I'd gladly get you the equipment to clean up the line
@louisc.gasper75885 жыл бұрын
Might not take much. Ther overgrowth is not very heavy; I mean there aren't any trees or even saplings growing between the rails. And the landslides didn't look to be very numerous, or very extensive, or very deep. The rails didn't seem to be heaved or broken. The real problem might be access to the rail head. And there's the issue of liability when the cow doesn't get out of the way in time.
