***UPDATE: IT HAS BEEN A VERY painful year: 1st my brother-in law passes, then my beloved husband and now, on my husband's birthday (June 10th) my brother passed on. On top of that I am waiting with baited breath for a room mate to get out from my home. I just found out she lied to me about everything to get in my room. Turns out she is an alcoholic, mentally unstable, with a son who is a drug addict she obsesses over. She has almost destroyed the peace of my home. Almost. Hopefully she will be gone BEFORE the time is up. NO MORE room mates...I will make do. ********************************************************* Mixed couple, Elders, married 33 years May 21st. Husband is bedridden and I am his sole caregiver for now....still love him beyond the moon. Yes it's hard, frustrating but I am trying to keep him OUT of any nursing home. My own health needs attention. Still, I wouldn't trade these 33years for anything. Bless you both. UPDATE: MY BELOVED FRIEND/HUSBAND LEFT HIS VESSEL THURSDAY, JAN. 26TH AT 2:30 pm. I WAS HOLDING his hand when he took his last breath. Please pray, send energy for my clarity of mind and patience to grieve. Thank you all for your kinds words.

That is just beautiful. I pray that you will be able to take care of your spouse for as long as possible. When the time comes where he may need to be placed in different care, don't beat yourself up and know that you did what you could for as long as you could. It's not failing him in any way. Just make sure to visit him often and of course, keep loving on him.

That is so funny with the hand "falling into place" :D His Dad did that 31 years ago! We were at a dance and we were sitting at a table... someone asked to dance with me, and he just lifted my hand, holding it exactly like that, fingers intertwined - to indicate that "I was with him". We started dating after that. I love how you guys tell your story.

Mariyah has the most adorable, infectious laugh and giggle. Every time she giggles it just makes you smile I can totally see how you fell in love with her. ❤️ It took me a failed marriage and a toxic 10-year relationship to find my person but I did and he was totally worth the wait. He does all the little small gestures that just make you love him even more. He remembers little things like something I said in passing that I would love to have in the kitchen or whatever and a month later he'll randomly found it and bring it home and I get so excited like he just bought me a Louis Vuitton. LOL It really truly is the little things that he does that just shows me but makes me feel so loved. When you have a partner who actually listens to you and wants to communicate with you that's when you know you hit the Hubby Mega jackpot. Lol We have two grandbabies who just turned 2. Our granddaughter in Sept and our grandson in Dec and my youngest daughter who is also having a boy could come any minute now. I am on standby and I have my Mima bag packed.b thanks to covid I didn't get to see my oldest give birth and it was the most heartbreaking thing I ever went through. I never imagined in my life that I wouldn't get to see my first grandchild until he was almost 1 week old. 😢 I am so glad I get to be there for youngest daughter and hold her hand, I'm so excited she literally can call me at any minute so I can barely even sleep! I can't wait to meet Presley Matthew but now I hope the three of them are done for a while cuz Mima's hand are full. FYI just so you don't think I left one of my girls out my daughter who has my granddaughter is actually my bonus daughter so her mom was with her. I am living my best life with my best friend! We may have met a lot later but we had to go through what we had to go through to get to where we are. Be grateful you found yours early in life. Cherish each other, always communicate no matter how hard and continue to be each other's biggest fan. You guys set a really great example of a healthy relationship even when you have/had to experience a lot of hate. Your strength is empowering! Also you guys would have definitely won the most dorable couple in the yearbook. LOL ✌🏽❤️🤘🏼

Love is the answer to racism. I love seeing interracial couples like you two. My son has always preferred a darker partner. His first gf in K was as dark as he is light.
