If you’re curious about what exactly was wrong with the van, it turns out that a few months ago, I accidentally reset the oil life monitor on the dash. So I actually had very low oil and desperately just needed an oil change, without realizing it! I’m extremely glad that’s all it was - it sort of feels like to make vanlife “official” you need to have a mechanical disaster on the road, but I suppose all that stuff happened to me at the start of the build LOL, so I’ve been pretty lucky with that ever since 🤞

The simplest solution, thankfully! I kind of suspected as much, but I just needed an oil change. It happened because I accidentally reset the sensor a few months ago and didn’t realize my oil was getting low! But the dash message scared the hell out of me lol

No, just me being clumsy and accidentally resetting the oil life sensor on the dash, resulting in me not realizing my oil was very low. I’m glad that’s all it was! Scary to see the “TURN ENGINE OFF” in big fuckin letters haha

How do you get a permit to film in the parka? Is it easy?

Varies from park to park! Each one is a bit different but most NPS sites have a section for it. It can get expensive though
