Excellent episode which reminds me of your reviews way back in the day when we had OLD WHISKY as part of our choice. I appreciate that my liver and I have an interesting relationship but these days you have to sell your vital organs to afford old whisky. Such a shame the Mannochmore was a bit meh but that can happen with old whisky. I once had an old Benrinnes which might as well been aged in stainless steel because the cask ageing yielded nothing. It was probably meant to be blend filler. As for old and finished, well I completely concur with your suspicion. I mean why did Claxton's feel the need to do it anyway? Sure, with young whisky there's some scope but why slosh a twenty five year old ex-bourbon whisky with a refill oloroso octave? It might actually come off but the risk is there and why do it? What's wrong with releasing a decent twenty five year old ex-bourbon whisky on the market? I just don't get it. Not surprised about the Ledaig because it has plenty of distillery character which can hold up to a bit of sherry. "Manly, not in a macho way" 🤣Ledaig (Tobermory) have turned the corner and should be outside the Axis of Evil. You can now officially replace them with Jura who are a complete waste of space. I'd be interested in the Campbelltown blend but the the price is too steep and that's just because of the Campbelltown meltdown craze. I agree with you about the Loch.

Hi Rasmus/ WT. Yes, I was refering to Chateau Musar. I'm not sure everyone would pick up on that subtle volatile note but if you knpw Musar abd Trevallon, you'll notice it!

Only Ledaig changed Cuts in 2007, Not Tobermory.
