I got a 155 Aeronaut this season and I've really been enjoying it. I'm also a Mt Bachelor Bend Native, so I've tried it in variety of scenarios. Super poppy and fun board overall.

I’m glad I waited to buy one of these until the 2025 preorders opened up. I saw a video with Arthur saying they were working on wide versions and with my size 12’s I really felt like waiting was the right call 😁

All of the pros and cons perfectly describe the “side hit euphoria” that capita went for and yet no ride footage showed any side hits. It’s a side hit board which explains the quick turning the extra pop the ok in powder (because side hit) it explains the offset and why it felt less stable at straight line. Side. Hit.

Good Criticism.

James always says he's an average rider, in every video he points this out at least once and probably isn't going to be hitting side hits like Arthur Longo. Embrace all that's average and enjoy the craziness of SHE separately 😁

Thanks for coming to my aid but I think @jcraff3 had a very fair criticism. I should have got some average rider site hits going.
@jakekeyte9320
@jakekeyte9320 5 ай бұрын
@thegoodridesnow Yea, I'm sure if you'd added more side hit footage, someone would have said you didn't go big enough or were trying to be Arthur Longo. There are other reviewers out there with more riding footage and some very popular reviewers with no footage at all. You always cover pop well, and that's side hits covered. The value in your reviews comes from the amount of boards you've been on and the feedback you freely give anyone who asks your opinion. Keep up the good work 😁

Nothing to do with this board (other than that they are comparable), but why haven't you been able to review the Nitro Alternator this season? I've bought it, love it, but would still love to hear your guys opinions on some of the Nitro boards if you can get your hands on them?

Hey James, I am considering buying this board. I know they don’t make a wide model yet. Do you think I would be okay riding this board with size 10.5 or size 11 boots? Please answer I’ve searched everywhere! Thank you In advance❤️!!

Not ideal and it really depends on boot footprint, actual boot size, stance angles, brand boot and a lot of other factors. So if you just want the short safe answer I'd say no. Hit me up here if you want to get into more detail and do this right. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

I already have several boards (park, carving, pow) and i'm looking for a one board quiver that would be the only one i bring when i travel. I want a board that would be dynamic and fun turning, do well in pow and that i can still butter and use in the park (jib and jumps). I'm torn between the lib tech dynamo and the aeronaut. What would be your pick ?

How does the Aeronaut compare with Rome Renegade?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 3 ай бұрын
Pretty different rides. Rene-Gade is pretty much a true twin with more camber and it's damper/feels stiffer on snow (not as much flexing it in a shop). It's more of a carving/big air twin. The Aeronaut is lighter poppier/more set back/directional ride with a little less camber but still pretty technical but not as good in uneven snow. Hit me here if you want to get into it more and figure out what's right for you. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Which is more fun for all mtn minus park, Mercury, Aeronaut, Protosynthesis?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 8 ай бұрын
Tough to say. They all have very different characteristics that can has all-mtn appeal to different riders. Aeronaut is more technical poppy. Protosynthesis can't set back much in pow so best for those that ride switch alot/centered and have a better board for pow. Mercury is most forgiving and leans more towards riders that don't like to set back in pow and is more forgiving. Has the least pop of the three though. Hit me here if you want to know what's right for you. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Would this be a good replacement for my old Gnu Billy Goat? I want an extremely aggressive board for resort ripping with my more casual friends. I am 30, 200LB, size 10US boot. FYI not looking for a quiver killer.
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 7 ай бұрын
Not sure based on the info given. The Billy Goat had a lot of different camber profiles over the years. If you were riding C3 or the old full camber maybe but it's a lot less damp in uneven snow. It will buck and bounce around a lot more at your weight. Hit me up here if you want to do this properly. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

YT is a pretty bad place to ask for advice because I know almost nothing about you. I need to know a lot to actually help. Hit me up here if you want to do this right. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/. It's hard to even guess based on the info you gave. No on the Stratos unless you are super light or only ride in clean conditions. Don't get the Aeronaut if you see lots of powder or ride in a lot of messy snow. It's pretty catchy/technical too. Get the Merc if you ride switch a lot and don't plan to set your board back in pow. Or you want a really forgiving board.

you prefer this or Burton hometown hero can't decide which one I want this year?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 8 ай бұрын
I personally own neither but it comes down to what kind of rider you are. Both have a ton of pop. If you want softer easier flexing go Aeronaut. If you want a stiffer more directional ride with better float in pow go HH.

@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 10 ай бұрын
They look very similar but act super different. Otto has a less turny ride, is more stiff, a good bit more damp/better in all conditions and floats better in pow. The Aeronaut pops easier/higher though.

How would you compare this board to the Nitro Team Pro for pop and jumps ?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 6 ай бұрын
The Team Pro is a little stiffer, more damp, and more true twin so if you ride switch/land switch/take off switch you might like it better. If you like a more directional old school ride/feel with a modern/light/ultra poppy flex personality this might work but it's not very damp and can be bucky.

Hey man I’m deciding between the 2024 bataleon surfer or the batleon surfer ltd. Which one would you recommend. Also I’m 6ft with size 9 and about 130 what size of board do you think I should go with
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 10 ай бұрын
I've only ridden the Surfer LTD so I can't speak on the Surfer or how the two compare. Probably the 159 is the call for really deep or low angle pow and the 154 if you ride in steeper terrain and/or tighter trees.

stuck between the 155 or 157 i want it for all mtn ride more freerideish but still be able to take it into the park here and there when i end up there (Im 6 ft 157 lbs and boot size of 8 - 8.5 US men's) just wondering what you would think.
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 10 ай бұрын
Tough call. 155 would be better if you want more control and 157 would be a little better if you want to carve harder and have a little better speed/float. I think you can ride both with your specs. I don't think sizing up to the 157 will be too hard to turn with 8-8.5 boots. Especially if you are more 8.5 US.

Awesome review, thank you so much! I've narrowed down my search to the Mercury, Aeronaut, and BSOD. Any thoughts? I'd say I'm advanced, and spend time all over the mountain - groomers, park, off-piste, trees, poweder etc, but spend the majority of the time straightlining groomers and trying to set my own speed records (currently a couple maxed out at 58 mph). Also LOVE getting air off random rollers and side hits. So those two things are the priorty. Long story short, I know I need a board that can do it all at least half decently, but the most important thing is being able to go fast on groomers - that's what I enjoy the most. Based on your review, it sounds like the Mercury might suit me a LITTLE better than the Aeronaut if I like straightlining, but where does the BSOD fit into the picture? Do you have any thoughts one way or the other? Thanks!

how would this compare to a warpig?
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 9 ай бұрын
They are polar opposites of the design spectrum. Warpig short/super wide no camber. Aeronaut is old school almost full camber, narrow and long. Aeronaut is much poppier but less ideal in uneven snow.
