Alex, Tins and Will Greenwood are together to discuss the Investec Champions Cup Final between Toulouse and Leinster - but why has Will got his guns out?
They discuss where the game will be won and lost, who has a bigger point to prove and which team is like a Ferrari.
The guys also speak to Jonny May ahead of his final game for Gloucester in the Challenge Cup Final and find time to chat about mohawks and whether a stretching area has been named after him yet at Kingsholm. They also give their verdict on the final round of the Premiership regular season.
Season 4 is sponsored by Continental Tyres.

Don't know if he reads this or if comments get passed to him but would just like to say a big thank you to Mike. He took the time to have a picture with my daughter at kingsholm on Sunday watching the women's. It was her first game at kingsholm which she loved and then when she got to have a picture with 2003 winner/Gloucester captain/royal made her day. It was her first season playing so thanks for making a memory within that

Talking about Saudi Arabia progressing with regard to the treatment of citizens and 'morals' is laughable. Money talks. That's all it is - smoke and mirrors. 'My friend who runs Formula E says....' Yes, of course he does. FFS.

Greenwood's argument makes no sense. True I've never been to Saudi, but I've also not been to Nazi Germany or Apartheid South Africa, but that doesnt mean I can't say with confidence that those were abhorrent regimes. But sure, trust the words of your rich white friends working in sport (courtesy of Saudi cash) over the words of the country's own people who are the ones actually suffering. How about, for balance, you bring someone on from Amnesty International to explain the situation? Given you dont feel qualified to talk on at as you're 'just a podcast'. That way, you can do the topic justice.

I spent nine months in Saudi Arabia, it's a hell hole if you are gay, a woman, a dog, a third world country person looking to send money back to your folks in India or Bangladesh and don't even be a maid out there as they have a habit of falling out of windows if they refuse their employers, or want to leave early. That's the problem with this podcast, they should stay in their lane or area of expertise and leave stuff they are ignorant about well alone.

It's all well and good to call Toulouse "the best European team ever", but the fact is, this is only their second final in ten years and they have never beaten an English or Irish side in a final... It's Leinster's fifth final in ten and they put 80+ points on Toulouse in the last two seasons... all facts.

We get it: you will take money from anyone. You want to learn and explore nuance AFTER taking the money. It is a peculiar sort of high-minded venality. Tinds is positioning the discussion in the last podcast about Saudi money as if it was all hypothetical. There was nothing hypothetical about Tindall's toadying to "Fozz" and unedifying eagerness for a slice of the potential pie (which was being talked about as a very real possibility).

Getting Greenwood to talk about Saudi just dug the hole deeper. Because he lacks morals himself he can’t understand the justified criticism. He refutes the findings of global human rights organisations based upon testimony from his mates - who just so happen to benefit personally from the blood money - and are clearly being treated as special guests of the regime. I think it would be good for you to speak to a human rights expert on the show if you really are keen to "have a conversation" - and this wasn’t all just a cynical move to help out one of your chaps in defending Saudi.
@Rosalicious297
@Rosalicious297 28 күн бұрын
Oh careful, according to Tindall any criticism is being viewed by them as responses by “keyboard warriors”, the stock position of comfortably off, middle aged men who have never said an original thing in their lives. Instead let’s listen to the intellectual colossus that is Will Greenwood who knows a bloke who is apparently very moral and can’t say he’s seen anything untoward whilst being feted by the ruling elite. This is the same man who said that if he’d ever been offered $15m (as if) by the Saudi princes he would take it for the sake of his family, thereby demonstrating to his children that having money overrides EVERYTHING, the more excessive the better. But please, I’m just a lawyer who had read some horrendous reports from international human rights organizations, what do I know as I’ve have never actually been to Saudi Arabia, in the same way that I’ve never been to the Antarctic so how could I possibly claim it is cold there?

I understand the eagerness to cash in and get the players paid what they deserve. Considering the physical risks they take compared to other sports (at least they're not in the UFC), they "should" get a hell of a lot more. For context let's say rugby is to soccer what MMA is to boxing. Soccer and boxing have been professional for over 100 years, while rugby and MMA only recently became professional sports, missing out on the big money from networks like Sky Sports that significantly benefited other similar smaller pro sports at the time like rugby league. Soccer and boxing still probably dwarf the others in terms of participation but at this stage are no less professional and dedicated. So I totally understand why these "lesser sports" would jump at nebulous investments when larger sports have already done so. Rugby players and MMA fighters endure hell for our entertainment, often with lifelong consequences. So I'm obviously not arguing that they don't deserve more financially. But speaking to my issue, it sucks to see rugby media figures-who I usually find intelligent, compassionate and insightful-so eager to align with countries notorious for human rights abuses. These countries oppress their citizens while their elites enjoy the perks of our society when convenient. I'm not saying the West's ideals or their implementation are perfect. Neo-liberalism controls their publics economically, and half the world through neo-colonialism with economics and worse. But at least we can rant on the internet in peace without fear of persecution 👀. And if Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods struggled to challenge the LIV Golf takeover, it shows the continued takeover through questionable investments is inevitable. All I can hope is that this continued sports and tourism investment is a fool's goldrush that doesn’t pay off. And while sports are hard to ignore, no one needs to go on holiday to Dubai. Now I've clarified everything? - I just want to say frustrating to see the rugby content I listen to filled with wannabe businessmen framing their involvement or compliance as "looking after the players" when it’s really about looking after themselves and ignoring human rights. The insidious nature of these investments will continue, as will turning a blind eye to human rights abuses for profit.

And to act like special media gurus employed by shady investment funds are the only ones who understand how to grow the game is crazy. The steps to grow the game are obvious; the massive loss/continued investment is not - please be more clear about that
