This is one of my favorite Tunes ever and you play it beautifully. So many people have to play Irish as fast as possible and the Tunes are so beautiful they don't need to be played fast. You got it just right❤❤❤

We have that problem in Canada sessions too ! It's always a sloppy, super fast race ,instead of a steady beautiful melodic, rhythmic pulse 😊. This is exactly how I like to play ! I love these guys !

These gorgeous jigs are often played quite fast in Ireland. I play whistle and banjo, and often have a hard time keeping up. Either way, Irish trad lights up my life. I love both of these jigs, and they were played beautifully and with great feeling. Thank you!

So nice listening to you, guys, letting the melody breathe. What a change from the today fast-playing sessions which make all the tunes sound alike and boring.

Wow! These players know how to pace a tune perfectly. Give the tune space to breathe! Yeah! Far too many "speed merchants" don't get this. Slower, and lilting, does the trick.

I learnt to play The Monaghan Jig on the whistle about three weeks ago and, since listening to this rendition, I have done nothing but play along to your version. I have since listened to some more of your videos (+ become your subscriber) and have loved them all. However, this still remains my favourite. It is so inspiring and elevating. Also, I find it really endearing and an important part of the music how you communicate while playing. Congratulations to you both!

@@thegoodtunes I just was listening through your playlists again and this song came back up and I had to stop and replay it another time. That little E-G-B-D progression in the Monaghan Jig is done so perfectly by Sebastian - and there is just something about how well it fits between the previous and next parts. So lovely.

Yes that's a great idea! Kilfenora is definitely one of those tunes with many names, I guess depending on who you've learned it from / what regional tradition you're playing. There's just something great about taking the pace down a little.
