There is a major discrepancy in this video regarding the weight saved. It is an actual savings of 340 grams, not 34 grams, as stated in the video. I apologize for the miss information.

Yes. Groupset is the last thing to upgrade. 11 speed 105 mech is as good as any of us watching this video needs
@bonbonflippers42984 сағат бұрын
I can even say 105 10 speed is good enough. I have 3 bikes with 11speed and 1 12speed di2...it's nice but not really necessary
@Therealconnoissuer2 сағат бұрын
10 spd is all you need but 11 and 12spd is nice too.

I love the ..... BIKE EYE CANDY! My thoughts are 1.Campy is the leader in mechanical shifting. 2. Shimano SHOULD be the leader in electric shifting (1st to gave proper electric shifting to the public) . 3. Sram RED is the leader in WIRELESS electric shifting.for these reasons: easy to set up - can be added to NON-electric shifting bikes, WITHOUT drilling any holes in your bike- the batteries are inter changeable - you can add a WIRELESS dropper post . As you can see the other drive train manufactures are converting to WIRELESS. The CRAZY thing is..... that MAVIC started electric shifting before Shimano.MORE ...... BIKE EYE CANDY PLEASE?

Bro, you had a Campy Super Record group just laying around? 😂😂 My man. First, that set is rare on the road anywhere except maybe in Italy. Second, just seeing a brother who rides Campy is even rarer.😂😂 That's a sub for me. 👍🏿

It’s rare to see it on the road, but Campy is such a great setup! True story... on my ride featured in the video, I look over, and there is this dude on the same SR 12 Disc🤯 Thank you for watching and supporting the channel👍🏾

I heard a lot about campy, but it seems lile they are not as popular anymore, and rare. I am looking at the Basso Viper as my next build and it being steel I want to run a silver color group set on it. From my research it looks like I would have to go Campy as most of the other group sets mainly come in black. I think black groupsets look better On Carbon frames and not so much steel frames.

Informed and truly inspired. I really enjoy your content. For me, I feel that a wheels and tyres upgrade is always the best starting point. It really transforms a ride and feel of the bike. The next upgrade is moving to either 52/36 or 53/39 chain wheels depending on my rides. Groupsets, for me don't really make much difference for the cost.
@thegoodwheel41 минут бұрын
I agree with you on tires and wheels making a big difference in how a bike rides. Thanks for watching 👍🏾

There is so much to unpack here. There is a ghost in the machine. Might need to do a live Q&A on this topic. Where do I start, shots fired at my beloved Sram. Maybe the carbon layup of the frame is something to think about. Again. So much to consider.

I think with groupsets there are cut points where things make a huge difference. I recently upgraded from a 3x8 Claris group with good mechanical disc brakes to a 2x11 Ltwoo group with hydraulic disc. Holy shit what a difference. 2x11, or even 2x10, is so much nicer than 3x8. I think there's another cut point, albeit a lesser one, going from mechanical to electronic shifting. But if you're using, say tiagra and you upgrade to the latest 105 mechanical, or even an older Dura Ace mechanical, sure you'll be able to tell a difference, but it won't be game changing

Cafecito!! Loving the channel. You have a huge discrepancy on the weight that you showed or displayed on the screen. It was not 34 Grams, but it was actually a loss of 340 G. Seems like your Panama days were a long, long, long time ago. Time for a little remembering, one kilo is 1,000 Grams. Meaning 7.3 Grams is actually 7,300 G. The rest is just self-explanatory. Great video, loving the content and what you did last week where you were posting almost every other day, wow, that was so awesome. I'm going to a Ride 84 soon, I promise
@thegoodwheel4 сағат бұрын
Hey Mario, you are absolutely correct! Thanks for pointing it out. Silly error, I should have cought by looking at the ounces saved.🤦🏾 I'll correct it in a pined comment or description. While I was in Panamá we used imperial... changes probably came after I left. Thanks again.
@Mariobicy4 сағат бұрын
@thegoodwheel love it, didn't know about imperial! Technically 1 lb is 453 G so you saved about 75% of a lb. That's why it was noticeable

Since that sl8 your reviews have been even more “conservative”. I don’t like eps but this is by far the best defense of why one should move to eps. Great video as always. That Bossi bike is growing on me, I wish the rest of Italian bike companies continue to make their product in their homeland. Next time you get to test a Shimano try to change the setting on the app, you have faster option than default but battary doesn’t last. I wish you even better 2025 than 2024. Cheers

Can’t say I’ve ever felt much difference between low and high end group sets (not that I have that much experience). As long as shifts are happening when I ask, I’m happy. But my style is long distance at moderate speeds. So that’s probably a factor. The biggest upgrade for me is gearing. I like to get it set up with lots of low end for hills and close spacing in the mid-range so I can dial in my cadence.

It depends on what you upgrade from and to in my experience. But mostly it is how it feels. What you prefer yourself. I have 2 bikes myself. One with Shimano and one with Campagnolo. I have tried Sram but I never got a good feeling for that. But there is no doubt that Sram also makes great groupsets. The hoods also makes a difference in feel. Nice video though.

I love my Dura-Ace 11 speed Di2. I couldn't ask for better. I love it so much I future proofed the 9170 components with backups. It could be a dumb idea but I could afford it, and there is no need for 12 speed in my mind. I was a Campy Chorus fanboy for many years until I went to electronic shifting about 4 years ago. The Campagnolo electronic group is just expensive and not worth what it is or does so I'll never buy it.

Hey Louis i think I want to build that Basso viper steel as my next build. I am trying to gather some more information, stack and reach information on that frame set. Their website is a bit limited in some of the measurements and details of that frame. Not sure you remember, we spoke briefly in Atlanta about it. Any information on that frame would be greatly appreciated.

To me, an upgraded groupset is a well tuned groupset. I stick to 2 groupsets I know well... Shimano Dura/Ultegra combo and Campgnolo Mirage 9 speed...lol Yeah, I know, but it still rocks.. But a well tuned SRAM Red is awesome.. But tuning is the key for any groupset.

No, Luis, you lost me. I think you are coming from a place of pure emotion. I have that exact Campy on a bike, it looks dated as far as esthetics. Shimano is great, but I just prefer Sram because of the aspect of taking off the batteries to charge anytime, anywhere and the simplicity of setting it up. The debate about shift speed is super marginal. I challenge anyone to prove that they have lost a race using Sram because Campy or Shimano shifts faster. I would rank Sram and Shimano above Campy given the lack of innovation my Campy in recent times. The new Campy wireless is an abomination to us Campy fans.
