I started budgeting three months ago and now I’m addicted . I treat it like a game. Every time I see the numbers go down in my debt I get this crazy high and wanna keep going. I have one more payment for my credit card and I’m done with those. I check my bank account everyday and always planning on what to spend for my cash envelopes lol. That girl is crazy spending $600 on organic food. I literally buy lentils, jasmine rice, coconut milk, spinach, etc for stupid cheap a week! Under $30

I recently started using an app called Daily Budget. I set a weekly spend budget and it shows me what my allotment is each day. If I overspend, my daily balance is negative and when it resets the next day my budget is lower. If i have a no-spend day, the following day’s available balance is higher. It really works for me because it makes it a bit like a game and makes me more aware of my spending since I have to enter every expense myself.

It's a good ritual and I'm willing to drop a few bucks once a week. Vegan food is super cheap to make. It's when you buy the processed crap when it gets expensive. Making lentils, beans and chickpeas the protein saves so much when you cook from home. I'm not vegan, but I meal prep my work lunches and meals at home vegan. It allows me to eat out more frequently and still make my food budget under 10% of my net.

It takes a long time for small local business to become profitable enough to take a paycheck. I'm a small business owner who bootstrapped into it. 3 months in the business became profitable, but reinvesting to continue the growth is a must. This is why its sooo important to support small local business over chains. Small business really are the life blood of cities. They typically look for the cheapest rents placing them in areas that haven't yet gentrified. This draws more ppl and business to the areas which breathes new life. Please support small local first.

Hey Graham regarding your question about roasting coffee - no not all coffee is sourced by a few different importers. Every coffee taste different depending on it's variety, it's elevation level at were it's grown at (south & central American, Africa, Veitnam ect). After the coffee fruit is picked it can either be a natural processed coffee, a honey processed coffee, or a washed processed coffee. After that the coffee is shipped to a coffee roaster and it's up to them to roast it at the right level of roasting the inside and outside of the bean to bring out it's natural tasting notes. source: I'm a coffee roaster by trade.
