@@HomiebeaglePG 😂😂😂😂😂😂 That's authentic Tamil food
@HomiebeaglePG Жыл бұрын
@@mohammedbilal5190 A precursor of the modern idli is mentioned in several ancient Indian works. Vaddaradhane, a 920 CE Kannada language work by Shivakotiacharya mentions "iddalige", prepared only from a black gram batter. Chavundaraya II, the author of the earliest available Kannada encyclopedia, Lokopakara (c.1025 CE), describes the preparation of this food by soaking black gram in buttermilk, ground to a fine paste, and mixed with the clear water of curd and spices.[1] The Western Chalukya king and scholar Someshwara III, reigning in the area now called Karnataka, included an idli recipe in his encyclopedia, Manasollasa (1130 CE). This Sanskrit-language work describes the food as iḍḍarikā. In Karnataka, the Idli in 1235 CE is described as being "light, like coins of high value", which is not suggestive of a rice base.[2] The food prepared using this recipe is now called uddina idli in Karnataka.
@HomiebeaglePG Жыл бұрын
@@mohammedbilal5190 Dosas originated in South India, but its precise geographical origins are unknown. According to historian P. Thankappan Nair, dosa originated in the town of Udupi in present-day Karnataka.[1][2] However, according to food historian K. T. Achaya, references in the Sangam literature suggest that dosa was already in use in the ancient Tamil country around the 1st century CE.[3] Achaya states that the earliest written mention of dosa appears in literature of present-day Tamil Nadu, in the 8th century, while the earliest mention of dosa in the Kannada literature appears a century later.[4] In popular tradition, the origin of the dosa is linked to Udupi, probably because of the dish's association with Udupi restaurants.[4] The Tamil dosai is softer and thicker. The thinner and crispier version of dosa was first made in present-day Karnataka.[5] A recipe for dosa can be found in Manasollasa, a 12th-century Sanskrit encyclopedia compiled by Someshvara III, who ruled from present-day Karnataka.[6] After the Independence of India, South Indian cuisine became gradually popular in the North. In Delhi, the Madras Hotel[7] in Connaught Place became one of the first restaurants to serve South Indian cuisine.[8] It arrived in Mumbai with the Udupi restaurants in the 1930s.[9]

The Gadbad is from Karnataka and not from Goa. The dish borrows its name from the Tulu/Kannada slang 'gadibadi,' which roughly translates to 'mayhem, chaos or confusion. (Tulu is the language of Tulunad region of Karnataka & Kerala) Gadbad is from Tulunad Region (Mangalore, Udupi and Kasargod)

@sigma_01460 get your facts checked. We are the people of Pragjyotishpur. All who stay within Assam are Assamese, the foods being discussed are the ones which originated here. The fact that you are separating the old timers and the ones who came across the hills from Thailand is pitiable. Anyways enjoy the foods. I really don't want to take this any further.

How can you say that odissa has lots of good than other states . Don't boast your state . In whole India only Punjabi and Rajasthani food are famous not odia food . You can find Rajasthani mess and food in every state and Punjabi food like chole bhature ,chicken patiyala ,chole kulche in every state .but i have never seen people eating odia food in states like mp , chattisgarh ,up ,Gujarat, Himachal ,rajasthan, West Bengal .

Love from Imphal .Yeah singju is the most popular snack of Manipur.
Came to know about many foods of different parts of India, few of them I have ate. In Bengal along with jhalmuri, phuchka, luchi, there are many popular street foods like mughlai, egg roll, Kolkata biriyani, Alur chop(very famous now 😅) etc...
