Justkiki87 I just want to firstly say i know i dont know you but I'm so sorry for the lost of your brother. But I like you felt the same when I lost my mother and had all sort of questions going around in my mind. Wondering if they treated my mother kindly, gently and with respect this went on in my mind for months..and I watched so many of these sort of videos trying to I guess bring comfort to myself because i was so so depressed and just couldn't come to terms with the passing of my mother until it made me so ill and I really never thought that i would get through it ... Until one day i just took my mother photo sat down and talk to her photo and really had a good cry and let it all out then I felt this warmth of great feeling of her around me and day by day I got through it ... you know it may seems right now like you just can't cope but just take it slowly and in your own time you will get through it. Most high bless you always x

@@IamAries52 I'm a nurse too. I had to leave nursing due to my epilepsy, gastroperesis and heart issues. I miss it too. Anyhow my first body I was supposed to go shadow the others to learn. Well, they said Lesley go pull down the sheet. I didn't think anything of it, and went to pull the sheet down. Well when I pulled it down, it was one of my classmates who sat up, yelled, and grabbed me. I have never forgotten that, nor do I think it was funny at all. I felt it was disrespectful of those who have passed or will pass. And I never got over it anytime I got a body ready to go to morgue or with a funeral director directly. I felt it was a horrible thing to do? What are anyone else's thoughts??

I honor what you do not everyone can do that job, however it has to be done. I found my girlfriend's body approximately seventeen and half hours after her unfortunate death, when her body was rolled over I saw something that wouldn't want to see up close and that is her eyes were wide open, which really bothered me. I don't know if when she died if her eyes were closed or not? How and are the eyes closed? That's another thing that I would have a problem doing is if someone's eyes are open if had to close the eyes. Especially if it was a Loved one. I hope that no one that I know comes across this comment and says something to someone else I would know, I am not writing this to upset anyone I am just asking a question. Okay?

My grandson has lost his great grandmother and also a close family friend. He was full of questions. I explained it the simplest way I could. I said our body is like a potato chip bag. The inside is the good part...the best part for us to enjoy...(our soul). The outside being the bag becomes not needed once the chips are gone and we don't forget how good the chips were..but they are gone. It seemed to help him understand the deaths.

I appreciate so much that you talked about not doing something to alter the deceased appearance without first talking to the family. My daddy passed away when I was 12, he was missing most of his back teeth so his cheeks sunk in, he also had a very ruddy complexion. They packed his cheeks so they didn't sink in, and he was so pale. He didn't look like my daddy. It was all I needed at 12 to convince myself that it wasn't really him, that he would come back. It took years of therapy, and getting married (because I knew he would have been there) for me to finally accept that he was really dead, and not coming back.

You're the most beautiful, compassionate funeral director I've ever met. For myself, I don't want anything but to be cremated and no viewing or funeral. My most painful experiences has been the viewing, funerals of my dear loved ones whether family or friends. I want to be remembered for how I was in life...not how I looked after. It's so hard on family and friends going through that. The cost is insane too and I understand with all that's done it's justified but I don't want to burden my family. If I had to do the whole shebang it would be my sincerest wish to have you do it. You're precious!!

God bless you honey. I couldn’t do it and especially the trocart procedure. I saw a video on that and found it to be very violent the way it was done. So much so it made me think of cremation with no embalming for myself. However as silly as this may sound, I’m EXTREMELY claustrophobic and the idea of getting put in an oven scares me too. I’m nervous about being buried too. Omg!! What if our spirit is claustrophobic???? I know it’s going to happen someday, but I’m hoping I can just live forever! Great video and thank god for people like yourself. God bless you.

You are so beautiful and respectful. The people that took care of my 40yr old husband was great too. I was stressed at first when seeing him. His lips were too pale and "weird", but they handled it quickly. It means a lot to see your loved one as close as you Remember them..especially for our sons (about 5 and 10 at the time). Unfortunately, I was forced to chose cremation. It was the only way I could be intered with my husband. Thank you for sharing.

I actually very much wanted the sweatshirt my dad passed in. He passed with such a short notice to his illness. It’s been almost 3 years and I still can’t deal with it. Not enough time to say goodbye. He was so sick. Anyway, I asked the funeral director for his sweatshirt. He told me I wouldn’t have wanted it and he disposed of it. However, I was with my dad when he passed and stayed with him almost 2 hours and the sweatshirt was completely fine. So, maybe the funeral director/embalmer should ask first regardless of what they think should happen. I know you all do what you think is best for sure, no judgement here. It’s just a thought from the family side. Very informative video. Thank you.
@TheGraveWoman6 жыл бұрын
Firstly, I would like to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I can not image what you went through and what you still must be experiencing. I agree with you 100% that in your particular situation it would have been most appropriate to return the sweatshirt. In most cases if the personal belongings do not pose a bio hazard threat to the family or public funeral directors will return them no questions asked. I am not sure why this particular funeral director did not do so but I am so sorry that you were not able to keep that part of your father. I hope that memories and love that you all shared together will bring you comfort. Thank you so much for watching and for being vulnerable enough to relive and share such a personal and painful experience.

Hello i'm back from a year ago. I love your presentation in your videos. The trocar is without an invasive procedure. Ironically after talking to some funeral directors, they all told me that the aspiration of the chest and abdominal cavities is the number one on the dislike list of embalming procedure. I do understand why you dislike it so much. But i think that is admirable about you. Because you never forget that the deceased in front of you was the same as you. A living breathing loving human being. And not just some carcass dropped off to you. So you should be proud of yourself for feeling that way about the trocar and never change the way you feel about it also. Good vid, take care and God bless.👍🏻❤🙏

Thank you for doing such a great in depth video. I would like a more detailed video on the embalming process! Also would love an in depth video on cremation by fire and cremation by water! When a person is cremated are the clothes or naked? Little things like that are very important. Can a person be waked before being cremated? Do they have to be embalmed? Where do you put the bodies when everyone leaves the funeral home at the end of the wake? What does it entail to bring a body back to the USA when someone dies over seas (non military). There’s a ton of questions out there, most of the simplest of things.
