This faction's roster is basically how i imagine a future Dogs of War DLC. A small base roster with basic units from Tliea, Estalia and Araby then a TON of Regiments of renown of all varieties from everywhere. The only difference is that in the Dogs of War i can see many characters being added and a ton of hero options. 3 LL, 1 LH, and many generic lords and heroes.

My only wish for this is that they'd made Bernhardt look older. Since we all know he's currently serving drinks out of Taal's Horn Keep for the Ubersreik Five.

The Lohner's Chronicles blog posts have him occasionally reference or outright name characters from the Dark Omen and Shadow Of The Horned Rat games that he knows. He mentioned having a "beaut of a sword" at one point in his earlier life, likely alluding to *the* Grudgebringer. One of his conversations with Kruber after he becomes a Grail Knight is about Bretonnia and how he "had some trouble with The Black Grail there some years ago"; the Black Grail being a crucial plot point from the Dark Omen game. He's apparently met Karl Franz at some point. Morgan meets with the Emperor in person early on in the games. And one of the biggest hints is in the Red Moon Inn mission from Vermintide 1, where you find him in the basement *surrounded by the corpses of stormvermin.* One of the corpses has a shield with the Grudgebringer emblem embedded in it. At the least, he's a former Grudgebringer who rode with Morgan. At the best, he's the man himself. These are but a few examples. He actually still has the Grudgebringer Sword in storage, the chronicles imply, Franz says he takes it out every so often to maintain it, juuust in case. Wouldn't as be likely that he got it from Bernhardt, so either Morgan's dead and this is someone close to him (perhaps his second in command, Gunther Schepke), or is the man himself 😄

I'd love If they found a way to integrate caravans into this mod somehow. Escorting caravans is one of the first things I think about when I hear "mercenaries".

Why did they remove LL leading a 60-horsemen unit? It was one if the most unique traits of this faction.

CA changed the code so now if a general has a retinue he is in the back of the unit instead of the front, and the authors felt that it didn't fit the LL's character.

An Ordertide horde made up of many of the Ordertide races sounds so cool! So this is sounding like a really cool and unique mod. OVN really knows how to make great faction mods.

So I played a bunch of this today and... it's actually probably the best faction mod I've played. I usually poo poo mods for changing too much or being imbalanced or doing things purely for the sake of doing it. But this is a pretty laser focused experience, all the units are based off vanilla units but with special limited regiments of renown (which are balanced by being literally unique, singular, lose them and their gone), and the fact you are limited to ONE army. Best treated like a role-playing game, you basically give yourself goals though traveling around to get the Heros is a pretty good direction to take. I spent my 60ish turns just trying to keep the dwarves alive. The badlands bowl is a clusterfuck let me tell you. Your lord is strong but not Rediculous. And even vanilla units can be customized with an upgrade system. The only complaint I have is I'd like more interesting/different upgrades because otherwise it's just custom armor for everyone

yeah the upgrades need some work. I will say thought the Pikemen with the heavy armor upgrade gives you a cheap unrelenting frontline that just refuses to freaking die lol

That sounded really good. Maybe Total war is savable after CA "lets make all arcade pulp" mess up policy. Basically CA should just make modfing easier when they are unable to produce good fixes to game anymore but ofcourse they are not listening.

Nathan- HerHammer referred to fielding armies that were nearly 50% characters, who were really OP, and a min/max amount of troops who were only there to represent the “army” on the tabletop…. since the characters were sooooooo powerful, given their stats and magical items and abilities, these characters DOMINATED the game more than the sun total of the whole “army”…. thus, the term HerHammer was a term that described the proliferation of characters that took over the game and sucked the life out of tabletop enjoyment. (at least that is how I remember the term HeroHammer in 5th Ed and at the beginning of 6th Ed)

I came here hoping I could learn how to improve the economy of this faction, because it feels like I can barely recruit a few units before going in the red and I'm spending all my skill points and research in reducing upkeep, but it's not helping. I wish they worked like Beastmen in that regard since you only have 1 army anyway.

Same here, I got the camp building that decreases army upkeep but it seems bugged, the army's upkeep didn't decrease as expected... Did you learn anything interesting thanks to the vid? I'm looking for a Grudgebringer guide Good mod though.

That sounds like a REALLY cool idea for a mod. The only thing putting me off about using these is usually the lack of polish for things like skill or faction descriptions. That's just my personal preference, however. Doesn't mean that the mods are bad or anything, I just don't like that aspect.

played this faction today and I'll say the polish on this mod is actually decent and even improved since this video came out since he's on an older version. My biggest gripe would be the ledger menu with all of the units and heroes to collect. that shit is cluster f%ck of info and lore being thrown at you all at once which can be overwhelming.

I love this concept but i wish theyd give us just ONE more Lord to help experience more of the units across the map cause i dont want my 20 stack being 8 heroes. Honestly think having a hamdful, say 5 or 6, LLs to collect also. Like one fream each Order faction.

I was hoping Creative Assembly would add a gameplay mode to Warhammer III similar to this using Gotrek and Felix so you would level up Gotrek and Felix's skills, weapons, and items and then join random factions in their battles.

If you want a harder time in this mod, only use the RoR units. It it a bit tougher that way. That way you cant "doomstack" Good luck!

i mean to be honest hordes didnt really work well anyway. This at least somewhat works because you are basically designed to work with the ordertide to take down the baddies. It's the opposite of the old warriors of chaos that has to turn the map into ruins but this faction just needs to make sure the Ordertide does it instead while reaping gold in the process. I think this is probably the best route iteration exclusive horde factions can go I think Ogre Kingdoms should also work like this too but guess we'll never see that

The main flaw I see is the "win against this faction to unlock this iconic unit you're PLAYING this to get" basically means you'll never get them because many factions will die off before you can do it.

It's a version that makes them a separate faction, Dark Omen is if you want the Grudgebringers as mercs for Order factions instead

It's sad that this mod is poorly balanced and after you gather an army full of dwarfs you don't have to fight a single fight until turn 70 :/ Camps are useless. at first they make you raid friendly factions - for diplomacy and they don't give you any gold and grow a few dozen tru before you get one armor bonus.

I wouldn't say it's poorly balanced. But being able to combine dwarf infantry with anything- especially since the dwarves are giving you longbeards and ironbreakers and organ guns - is indeed strong. This is mostly limited by your economy, and of course the fact that no matter what you only get one army. Camps are pretty useless though, can't even use them to hold backup armies because your econ is so bad. What I might like instead is rather than building horde buildings to recruit your horde stuff was all passive, and you gained units via the woc recruitment method where what you get depends on the area and percentage chance. This combined with the units you get for restoring settlements and completing units would be good. And camps, being technically an army, could sit there and ambiently soak up hire able units for you.

camps are mostly for the recruitment and bonuses like casualty replenishment. they also serve for when you somehow lose your one army and don't want to lose the campaign right then and there and don't want to save scum. as for difficulty...uh maybe go higher in difficulty? Not even the normal dwarf factions are easy to play on higher difficulty so I know your ass isn't on legendary.

Hero + Dwarf + 2 bear riders turn 83 i auto Archaon army and stop playing cuz i know there is nothing that can beat my army on auto -.- ( and ye i find how you can use your shity camp cuz you never gona use them for recruitment -,- they are first tier on start and i and no one will wait to recruit spearman and archer... Soo you can put your dwarf/other useless units to camp and left it ) AI will focus on your camp cuz your army is unbeatable on auto. So you can block Choke point :D

Amen. After turn 20 it is a face roll. It is cool AF that you get thematic units and I like that allies gift you stuff. That said there is just no pressure on you except that you are always broke. Getting some hellstorms, and organ gun, and the engineer hero, with a great Ice mage, right from the start removes a lot of the game's challenge.
