Thanks 🙏 I have used a beer cap from my husband’s beer bottle instead of the metal button. It worked well!

Thanks for this suggestion. Now I don’t have to waste time and $ running to the fabric store for a covered button kit!

Great tutorial, thank you. I made one with a token coin and mini hair elastic. It's a little thick because I use denim.

Thanks for the great tutorial!! I made one today and am excited to try stitching with it. I have rather large hands so the purchased metal one i ordered was a bit small and I kept pushing the needle into my hand. I bet this one works much better!

Thank you! I’ve been using it all the time. The curved shape of the button really helps to hold the needle (at least for me). I hope you like it!

Thank you so much for these 2 videos on how to make the thimbles. I can't find any of them for sale, not even the online shops that will ship to my country. I am definately going to make the leather one as I have experience with this type of material. I'm thinking of maybe inserting one of those little metal disc's used to pair up with phone magnets instead of another piece of leather. I would also like to try the metal button version but I don't have any and I can't buy just one or two so I'll have to find an alternative like some kind of bottle cap...maybe. Anyway maybe instead of being covered all in fabric the outside could be made with a bit less fabric so it doesn't completely cover the inside. Then you could cut a circle of leather to fit just inside the rim and glue it. Would probably last longer than the fabric. This is just a suggestion, I can't wait to binge on the rest of your videos. Thanks ❤😊❤❤

Brilliant! I have watched both videos and am excited to make some. Question..... could you also use real leather, or would it be to difficult to push a needle through?
@thegreenwrapper Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment😊 I’m actually not sure if real leather is too hard to stitch through, but the commercial one is, I believe, real leather and it’s just single layer so you may not need to make layers with real leather. I suppose it depends on the thickness of the leather❤️🧵🪡
@pollyanna84735 ай бұрын
If the leather is not too thick or stiff you could stitch it by using an awl before every stitch or if you have an old mechanical sewing machine you might be able to stitch with that. Most machines made before the 1960s are sturdy enough to sew through light leather. If it's thicker or because of the layers you would have to use a leather punch to remake all the sewing holes.
