Fyi for anybody without a steady hand, you can use "plastic canvas" to trace tidy dot grids with a fabric marker.

Thank you for posting this video. I used what I learned to repair two pairs of jeans with holes in the knees. These are demoted to yardwork and dirty chores, but they will now last much longer now the holes are structurally repaired. 😁👍

Thank you so much😊 I agree that it will be so much easier for English speaking viewers if I record with my voice in English. At the moment, my time for making videos is very limited and I realised that I won’t be able to release videos regularly if I record my voice over the edited footages unless I speak in Japanese and without captions. So far, I’ve chosen to make videos in English just with captions. I hope my skills for video making and script writing will improve over time, so that I can record in English eventually🤞 I’m sorry about the inconvenience😅

After cotton became widely available in Japan, it became more common to stitch Sashiko for decorations. So I also enjoy simply stitching patterns just like you😊 I haven’t tried printed fabric yet as I don’t see them here in Australia😅 Thank you for watching❤️

hii thank you for the video, was very helpful 🤍🤍 was wondering if theres a way to mend around a hole to keep the style of the jeans? im assuming you'd use the same technique and such but im wondering if theres something i should look out for when mending around the hole, or if theres any additional tips for it?
@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper Ай бұрын
Hi! Do you mean you want to keep the hole? I’ve done that by attaching a patch inside of the leg. I don’t know if this will help but I’ll put the video link here😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJuVlo2ZgrymhNEsi=By_7vJhkbC3VV4Lh

Thank you❤️ I think the Sashiko style running stitch makes it easier to stitch straight lines. Here’s a video about it⬇️ Investigating a Sashiko-style running stitch! Sashiko stitching for beginners /How to hold a needle kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2G5p3qcd8qYqsU It doesn’t need to look perfect though😊 I think the imperfection of stitches gives a character to it too👍🧵🪡

Nice video... sashiko is way harder than it looks. I just spent 4 hours on a small patch, and ended up ripping it it all out. You need to provide details about going to the next row and how to have it so that the stitches align or don't align. It's brutal to do without really specific help. Your video is great but it provides no detail about how difficult it really is.
@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper 7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. It must’ve been very frustrating for you that you had to rip it after 4 hours of your effort😢 As I started visible mending without any manuals, I also experienced many struggles and issues and had to figure out how to fix them by myself. So I really feel for you. The explanation of how to go to the next row is around at 09:00 of this video. I tried to cover some possible problems based on my experience, but I would love to know about the problem you encountered if the issue is not covered here so that I can make a better video from your feedback.❤️

@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper Жыл бұрын

@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper Жыл бұрын

What a helpful video, thank you so much. What brand of marker are you using?
@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper Жыл бұрын
Thank you❤️ Erasable markers are always very tricky. I use different markers depending on the material. I used a white water erasable pen from Adger which I found at a craft supply shop, for the dark patch and a Frixion pen from Pilot for the denim patch. Frixion pens are easy to draw but not made for fabric, so they don’t come off sometimes😅. I also use Clover’s heat erasable white pen but again it doesn’t disappear completely on certain fabric… Here is a video dedicated to erasable markers: Which fabric marker should I use for drawing Sashiko patterns?
