Beautiful horses on both sides. In the 1970’s my husband and I visited England. We were South Africans. When I saw the Queen’s Horse guards I could not believe my eyes. There were several of them on horseback and I had never seen such a magnificent sight in my life. We ran along the pavement trying to keep up with them. I will never forget their magnificence and it shocks me to see what the world has descended to how members of the public abuse and insult these brave soldiers in their incredibly spectacular uniforms on their absolutely magnificent black horses.

We were in London in the 1970’s and some fanfare was taking place and I was standing right up against the head and neck above me of a black horse with a knight in shining armour. And like all frightened South Africans and Rhodesians who were living with a disguised hell around them I was pouting out the horrors taking place in South Africa to anyone who would listen and I sincerely hoped the soldier astride his horse (the horse never moved and because I was young I was not afraid of him) was listening and even maybe he could do something to help us? That’s how desperate the whites were. What is more than interesting is that all the loudmouthed critics of South Africa in every country would NEVER HAVE DARED TO GIVE UP THEIR SAFE CITIZENSHIP AND EMIGRATE WITH THEIR FAMILIES TO SOUTH AFRICA. We were angry at the hypocrisy of the world in general. Today I live safely in Australia as an Australian with half my family. The other half of my family live unsafely in South Africa. I have great respect for the brave souls who live unsafely in their countries of origin. Back to the black horse and his knight in shining armour I had hoped some of the horrors I was pouring out would remain in his mind but I suppose because they were so majestic and glamorous I have never forgotten them. And some how in a muddled way I hope I got my point across. Up against my neighbour the black horse and knight neither of whom moved I remember them.

I thought the bit was troubling the horse (but what do I know about horses,). And the horse is obviously more comfortable now. Poor horse is not comfortable I think something is troubling him in his mouth. Now he has relaxed. He is a beauty and does have a Roman nose. Poor animal is uncomfortable he sometimes sticks his tongue out when he lowers his head. He is not settling down much. Thank goodness here comes a Royal Guard. At present the horse seems relaxed but a woman was standing in the box area. The guard accepted this. Oh a nice young man walking out said God bless to the guard on duty and then disappeared.

At the beginning of the video there were some rude speaking tourists laughing and making the comment "they get paid to do this" Why would one question another countries cultures and beliefs? Yes, these men and women are paid to do this! I'm in the United States and even I have more respect for the routines these men and women go through daily. I don't mock them, I don't ask rude questions, make rude remarks or disrespect them. They chose to become The Queens Lifeguards and on her passing they because the Kings Lifeguards. You may not care for who they protect but it doesn't matter you don't live there and your opinions aren't valued so why be rude and so condescending? There isn't any point to it. Now I do have a couple of questions (No, I'm not being an asshat or troll like some). On the guard that came out I'm guessing he is of higher rank due to his attire as it's very different from the Lifeguards, what would his rank be and what is he doing here exactly? And what is the commands that he yelling? I can make out like a word or two but not the full thing. I love to watch them and I'm a person that has loved horses since I was a small child so the horses hooked me but the guards and their routines seemed to fascinate me so I'm very curious about the horses and the lifeguards. Do they clean up the manure from the horses periodically? I ask because I've seen the boxes look clean but most of the videos the poo just accumulates lol. Thanks in advance!
