This song still slaps so hard!!! Tbh I thought this would be cringe and “not like other girls” after not seeing it for so many years, but honestly the shots at the end of the cast reassuring themselves that they’re cool as they’re being actively bullied gives me chills. I got bullied less for being a nerd and more for being autistic about my neediness (ex. infodumping, being “too excited” about my special interests, not knowing when I had been talking for too long), but regardless, this was my middle school jam, and I think I’m gonna put it on some more playlists.

I was into Star Trek, Next Gen and basically all Sci Fi, while also being a varsity football player (quarterback, tight end and defensive end, I never left the stupid field) and a varsity second baseman. I got picked on by my fellow "jocks" but I was comfortable with the geeks and freaks. I used to hang out with everyone, minus the burnouts, I had my jock buddies for that. Point is, for all the people who got picked on for being gamers, nerds, geeks, ect. sorry on behalf of of the jocks, not that I picked on anybody, I mean I was myself into all of that stuff, still am into gaming online. Honestly, anyone who got picked on in high school is stronger and more adjusted to life in the real world. The real world doesn't give a crap if you letter. The real world doesn't care how many touch downs you had in a single game. They don't care about how many home runs you hit (FYI my batting average was terrible, like I sucked batting, I broke 500 one season, great fielder, horrible batter). I guess I was lucky because it was a small school, but still, being a nerd and a jock is odd. You try to talk Sci Fi with the guys on the team and they look at you funny. They catch you talking to the speech geeks, and it's "you hittin' that bro? I heard the speech chicks are freaks you know what I mean?" At least on the baseball team, I had plenty of other nerds to talk to about sci fi, not so much on the football team. Got into the real world, became a cop, was all idealistic about helping my community and honoring the badge. Well six months in you get jaded. You start looking back on your high school years and think "Man I wasted way too much time on parties, girls, and sports that led to nothing. Maybe I should have joined the speech team, at least those people got me. I could have gone to college...." Again on behalf of Jocks that made your life hell, sorry. Again, not that I bullied anyone, but still sorry for the idiots that did. Just take solace in the fact that most of them are still living at home with their parents, in their thirties. I know this because when my wife and I visit my home town, most of the guys that were jocks with me are either back with their own families or they are single living at home with their parents, working a dead end job, still saying stuff like "man I can't wait to leave this town." Dude, your time to leave that small town was like twenty years ago. I left, never looked back. Meanwhile, those guys hang out at the bar in town working at the sawmill or working at the refinery reliving the "good old days". I do like this song though. Added it to my playlist. Keep your head up, and think about how you are successful and the idiots who bullied you are losers, living in their mom's basement, now trying to co-opt the stuff you love. I have many a time gotten into an argument with them when, as an adult when they say stupid stuff about Star Trek The Wrath of Kahn. I have actually heard the whole "Kirk was like a jerk to that Kahn dude. He just ditched him on a planet." Seriously? Do you know anything about the SS Botany Bay? Or why Kahn and the others were on it? Or about the Eugenics Wars? Or about first contact with the Vulcans? What about the Earth-Romulan War? I could go on but you get the point.

@@stagalgiz1097 Wow you took some time to write this response to what is basically a year old post. First of all I would like to thank you for your words. I personally never played american football or baseball, simply due to the fact that here in germany those sports really aren't popular. The funny thing is that in school sports was propably my best grade over all the years, I was rather skinny (and I still might lack a bit in the physical strengh department), but I was fast and agile. I played tennis and football (or soccer if you ask british people). I was pretty good at apparatus gymnastics and even went to a school comparison for my school. So yeah, I was a nerd, but I wasn't how many wrote them in movies or shows back then, those who can't run, move or do anything besides their "nerd stuff". In terms of my bullies (just to call them something). I don't know much about them. I only have contact to one guy from school (although we don't have as much time due to work and stuff obviously), he was also a rather quiet guy, the one real friend I had in school. I never went to the first few meetings back in the day, and I dunno if they just didn't invite me later or if there weren't more. These days I think I should have gone at some point. Should have appeared as I am today. I've gone my way, I have a stable, paying job, I was never unemployed. The thing is that I actually don't care that much if these people from back in the day are successful now or not. Because it wouldn't change anything now, would it? What I sometimes pondered was more about the girls (or now women)... because boy oh boy was I unpopular with them. Who wants to stick up for the bullied boy? Show interest in him? No one - obviously you would paint a target on your back as well. But I wondered if the stable guy I am now that learned to have some self esteem (simply due to the fact that I never struggled financially and always had a job) would be more interesting. Don't get me wrong, finally I got in a relationship that lasts for years now (I am not a womenizer, I had a few that sadly didn't work out one way or the other), but sometimes I wonder if some of them might feel different in matter of interest if they knew me at all. Might be a bit unfair, because let's be frank: I doubt very much that girls at that age really think about that stuff, just as boys don't think that much about the future, or the "what ifs", but as I said, sometimes I wondered if some of them would regret putting me aside.

It would be interesting to do a new season now. The original started with the Guild getting out of staying home alone and getting out in the real world and meeting each other........ Now 2020, stay home and social distancing. And a lot of shows having trouble now, with not being able to get the actors all together. Some shows have found ways for the actors to be in different areas, even in their own homes shooting separately. The Guild was doing individual shoots long ago.

They say that's geek's becoming chic, So now you're out of style as you can be And I'm en vogue, so you can bite me! CHORUS A To all the asshat jocks who beat me up in school, Now I'm the one that's cool. I'm the one that's cool. To all the prom queen bitches thinkin' they still rule, Now I'm the one that's cool. I'm the one that's cool. (I'm the one that's cool!) Try and cop my style, but I'm the real thing. While you played sports, I played Magic: The Gathering. Never earned your part in nerd society. My Aquaman pajamas prove my pedigree. Watched my Next Gen every night. Wore a headgear to fix my overbite. Your black-rimmed glasses are prescription-free whereas me, I literally can't see my hand in front of my face! *CHORUS A* CHORUS B And to my eighth grade crush who pushed me in the pool, Now I'm the one that's cool. I'm the one that's cool. You may be tan and fit and rich, but you're a tool, And I'm the one that's cool. I'm the one that's cool. (I'm the one that's cool!) Role reversal must be a total drag, But there's no point, no point for me to humblebrag. I appreciate you for being cruel. I'm burning bright thanks to your rejection fuel. Had my in-jokes you won't get, Like Honey Badger, Trollface, and Nyan Cat, So now your ballin' parties seem so dumb, You can Evite me, and I'll say yes, but I won't really come. Got my comics. Got my games, All the things you thought were lame. Got my cosplay, fanfic too. Got you pegged. S T F U. *CHORUS A, B* (I'm the one that's cool!) (repeat to fade)

Oh man, this is so well-done. The shots switching between the timelines are incredibly satisfying. They did an outstanding job on Vince's acne there, lol, he definitely looks like a teenager. The song slaps!

So despite knowing this song since it came out, I read this as "I'm the one that's single" when I glanced at it in my recommended videos

Can I point out how influential Felicia, and the Guild as a whole, was? Video games were on the rise, but it was an afterschool activity type deal. Something to have fun with your friends. Now it's a culture. People can discuss builds for characters in the open, esports, speedruns, E3 (which admittedly is dying). I don't know if the Guild was a product of "right place right time" or if it helped push the movement. But the whole of society changed during this show and that just bewilders me.

Definitely. Fortunately for her, she (and the guild members by proxy) will forever be recognized in the Smithsonian Museum of American History with her codex outfit used as an example of emerging media and female pioneering in digital media.

I'm loving this song, listening to it while I'm building my maps and characters in Roll 20 for Torg: Eternity, for an adventure I wrote and is published. I get such an awesome thrill from listening to it. Thanks, Guildies!
