Behringer have a nice idea but out of the 5 pedals of theirs I bought, 1 died in under 24 hours (compressor) and 2 completely killed the toan (noise reducer, chorus). The 4th is the Hellbabe & is fantastic. The last, a tuner, I replaced with a DigiTech Hardwire Polyphonic tuner anyway.

Not really caring one way or another here but this serves a completely different market. This isn't going to suffice for someone who wants a real Klon. Even if a Klon fan bought one of these it would not replace the real one or a better Klon copy. So no one should really be bothered about this considering ALL the pedals get a Budget version made of them the same way as Boutique builders use Standard pedals to base their designs on. 🤔

Their recreation of a Roland TB-303 being called better than the actual Roland "modified re-release" was a big one. A lot of their synths seem to be pretty good actually. Same for their MIDI (DAW/Studio) controllers; pretty good quality for a fair price.

We celebrate all the boutique brands for copying and ‘improving’ established circuits. And then get snippy when someone wants to make those same circuits available to every player. I’ve got a 1981 DRV, a vintage rat and TC Magus Pro. The TC is probably the most versatile. And I’ve got a box full of behringer pedals for when I want a chorus or vibrato or compressor in a weird place.
@TheGuitarGeek

That’s not the case at. Behringer are charging more than. 4 times as much as the cheapest klon i have.
@Kulturmatt
@Kulturmatt 29 күн бұрын
@ sorry if I wasn’t clear - wasn’t commenting on the klon specifically. More the disparity between mass and boutique builders. And that companies like behringer are ripping people off for copying circuits and selling cheap, while some ‘cool’ company charging $250 for a rat is somehow changing the world for the better.

Me no understand the hate: Uli Behringer started in the old days and was able to build a Juno-inpired Version of a synth for his friends and @reasonably less $$. The "vintage hype" is something disturbing to me ... I want to have music affordable ... and4all and me hates this elite thinking. Me was thinking about buying a Tumnus or a WarmAudio ... or the JHS DIY (Thomann ... please order a lot) ... and this Behringer will be taken into consideration too ...

The mythical circuit has been de-gooped a long time ago. It's not that difficult to build a pedal from a kit. Once you do the mystique of pedals is lost. $69 is a fair price to pay for that circuit in a fancy enclosure.

The cheap shot at Andy would be : It's easy for someone who has the best gear at his disposal to hate when a cheaper copy of something he has collecting dust on their shelves comes out and it's just as useful as his highly praised and expensive item. As I said this would be the hate cheap shot of some angry bastard but I'm not any bastard , I like Andy and I have the feeling that he is not an as. hole . I would love to hear a full review about that pedal in the channel if it's possible. Keep the good job Andy .

It's one thing to make a clone but to deliberately steal the tradecraft entirely with the color, knobs, lettering and graphics... That's generally considered unacceptable practice. I know they have great lawyers so they'll be fine. Not to mention the original guy isn't even making them anymore so, it's not like he can claim he's losing business over it 😂

I've had mostly good, some mildly negative, both in relation to reliability and sound. Both of my Beringer mixers have issues, but I use my Soundcraft. One of the three condenser mics needs a repair. The octave pedals hums like a Welsh male voice choir limbering up to sing Bread of Heaven. The EQ pedal can sometimes squeal. The rack mount stuff has been solid and the Vamp2 I got as a backup is still going after 20 years, although it has mostly been home use or going to gigs to be a backup.
@RobinHisgen
@RobinHisgen 26 күн бұрын
I got the (sub-)octave pedal (and their Noise Gate). However, the octave pedal didn't track on higher strings, only on the bass strings. Since I got it primarily for use on those strings, I returned it. Although what it did do well, however, was reducing hum/noise 😂 better than the Noise Gate

They could've done it with humour and called it a Kon pedal. I kinda feel sorry for all pedal/amp makers in that theres no IP protection on circuit designs. They deserve a better balance. So behringer is just going to do what behringer does - unashamedly copy it with cheap labour. Good in the short term for consumers. Potentially bad in the long term if designers get no financial return for their efforts because of pirates.

How do they get away with calling it the Centaur Overdrive? Copyright infringement? Nothing against the pedal, we don't know how it sounds yet. Berhinger makes some good affordable pedals but it's a matter of options. I have 3. 2 of them never leaving my board, Vintage Tube O D and Tube Amp Modeler. Not a fan of the Super Fuzz. Should be $10-$20 less for the pedal imo.
