The search exclusion method I’ve always used was the minus sign, so you would search guitars over $500 -Fender -Gibson without using commas. Great to see your feed feature fixed, but the bump has always been a detriment to Reverb, they need to abandon favoritism.

Hrm, that works on ebay for me but not on Reverb. I get fender results with that. Using the syntax "not:fender" works, but I can't add multiple brands. Here's an example: reverb.com/marketplace?query=not%3Afender&product_type=electric-guitars&condition=used&year_min=500&price_min=500

I agree on the James Tyler headstock and logo man...if i where a builder i would make a bunch of headstock prototypes and send them to guitar player and get their feedback first

Have you tried out any of the Fender Ultra guitars? I'm torn between an Ultra Tele and a Friedman Vintage T and wonder how they compare.

I haven't! I didn't hear many positive things, but I think that was because people were expecting more from their big announcement. I'm sure they're still great, USA-made Fender instruments. I think the Vintage T is going to be a different beast, but both will be great guitars.

I'll probably let some stuff go pretty soon and it'll be back near the top. I'm also half joking about the James Tyler thing. They're so ugly but people put them in the same group with Suhr/TA/etc so....I think I gotta do it lol.

LOL really? No idea. Either way, that thing looks like absolute crap -- I'd rather buy a hideous Tyler. That said, I don't have much nostalgia for EVH so maybe I just missed that bandwagon.

For a period of time it felt like most of my Reverb Feed was a couple of days old, but now the lag seems to be back to minutes-hours. What seems a bit weird: I still have some guitars in my Email feed that show up on the web feed much later or not at all. That seems very weird ... I think if you really want to hunt for best prices, neither is very good - Trogly had a show on this where he showed his feed versus just using the search function. So for professional price hunting you might need some AI ... or at least some scripting running those queries in shorter intervals and parsing new offers from that.

Mine seems much faster now, as you said. 15~30 minutes maybe at the worst. Hopefully it'll continue to improve. My email alerts have always been super delayed, maybe they set them to go out once a day? Not sure really. Either way, at least we're out of the 4-day feed hell for now.

@@TheGuitarPit yea i get a daily email. It would be plausible to me if that has just a subset of some items - like 10 of 500 new fender strat lusted yesterday. But i don't get why there would be listings in the email, that never show on the web site feed - and it is not because they already sold / been taken down or similar.

Based on these listings - definitely NOT buying a Guitar.... LOL To be honest, I am not in the market to buy so not really looking or checking Reverb to know if things have changed. I tend to look for 'specifics' rather than more general searches...

Chris, what do you do for work? Are they hiring? Lol $2,000 purchase in the summer would cause my wife to cut off my mouse clicking finger. Edit: Just realized after so many episodes that buying and selling guitars is how you afford to buy and sell guitars. Also, those EVH shark guitars are indeed uncool. I like metal guitars like the ESP FRX and some BC Rich models but that EVH is atrocious.

Eh yeah, usually I have to sell something to get something new. If I bought $2k guitars all the time I'd be bankrupt. So in the new purchase's case, I'll probably sell a thing or two to raise the funds. And I'm glad you agree on the EVH thing. Figured people might disagree but it seems really awful haha.

yea those string butlers r so freeking ugly id never put 1 on my guitar i dont care how bad the tuning was fix ur nut so its right, se up your nuts right no shitty looking add ons going to help when your nuts still the problem lol

The moderne headstock can't be worse, so adding a string butler has no effect on the visuals at least haha. It may even come like that, I have no idea.
