WWE & WCW Stars Discuss Chris Benoit's Murder-Suicide
World Wrestling Entertainment & World Championship Wrestling talents talk about the tragic murder suicides involving former WWE & WCW World Champion Chris Benoit who killed his wife Nancy Benoit and suffocated their 7-year-old son, Daniel, before hanging himself. The main motives listed for the killings are chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) steroid and alcohol abuse and a failing marriage according to reports. This video contains footage of legends such as multiple time World Champion Psycho Sid Vicious, Rick Steiner, The Sandman, Nancy's ex husband Kevin Sullivan, Davey Boy Smith Jr, Simon Dean and David Penzer.

Very well said. I always respected that about him too. Him, Warrior and very few others were guys that seemed to always have leverage and part of that was because they put themselves in position to not NEED the wrestling business, which is commendable for them. Such an endlessly fascinating tale of loss. Interesting to listen to the words used in this video, and how some distance themselves, maybe emotionally but more so even physically, while others focused on drugs or just not understanding it. Some talked about personal pain, while others seemed to have a firm grasp on precisely how many people were impacted and a detailed understanding of the ways they were impacted. Benoit was a fantastic wrestler, one of the best technicians of all time. But as a human, he was flawed. Like it or not, we ALL have our flaws and shortcomings. His brain and body were significantly damaged, he was on substances that alter the chemistry and thought processes. The anger and depression, along with the other issues at play in his life, led to him committing the unimaginable. He murdered his family, and it seemed like he planned it out on the short term (the Bibles, the note). It wasn’t spur of the moment “snapping”, it was cold blooded and calculated. Benoit is responsible, not Sullivan or anyone else. It’s groovy to have heroes, but you must remember that our heroes are human, too...

I will never gloss over what he did or make any excuses for it but there was reasons . He definitely had CTE which permanently alters a persons personality and ability to self regulate . There is also his physical health . His autopsy revealed severe cardio megaly ... the rumor was that he knew he did not have long to live ... some say less than 10 months ... then there was the possibility of Nancy filing for divorce and suing for custody of Daniel ... thats enormous pressure on a compromise brain

I truly believe that Chris benoit was suffering from some sort of head trauma that led him to possibly hearing voices or being overly paranoid. His journal he was writing in after Eddie died tells a bit about what was going through his head during that time leading up to his family's death. He seriously believed that people in higher places were after him and his family as well as alot of other crazy thoughts and feelings that were going through his head everyday. The amount of concussions he took turned his brain to mush and there is no one who can convince me otherwise. I dont believe chris benoit was a monster who was always capable of doing what he did. I believe all the years of head trauma took their toll on him and he lost his mind.

The story of Benoit is the same as the Dynamite Kid except unlike Dynamite's wife, Nancy didn't know when it was time to give him the one-way ticket. And she just stuck with him until he just completely lost it, if i remember correctly the order of events was Nancy died one day, then Daniel the day after and then finally Benoit himself on the third day. What i think happened was that he got into a fight with Nancy she threatened to leave him and he went overboard and did her in in a fit of rage, then the day after, he realized that he wouldn't be able to keep Daniel and he'd go to jail for it and so he did the rest on the following two days.
