Some random white guy would just throw a racial slur at him. I think they appreciate Haku, because as white men, they learned that racism is indeed a real thing that exists. That's why they always fought alongside him. He was their friend..and he helped them evolve personally to understand that they are fortunate to not have to deal with the level of racism that minorities do. Yes, minorities can be racist as well. But their racism doesnt disproportion or disenfranchise white people on an institutional level, given its only 44 million blacks vs 270 million whites in America. More white children exist than all black people period, so naturally, one form of racism has more bite than the other. Barb and Haku werr great in ring workers, absolutely. In that time frame, unfortunately, there was no way for them to get the push they deserved as wrestlers with the look and gimmicks they had. Instead they got the push of being bad asses (which they were and are) but that wasn't a title direction push at the time. Very solid mid/upper card, no question but not Main. I would have loved to see a Main run with either of them, but it just wasn't in the cards. They did great jobs with the positions they had though.

My brother Brian ,God rest his soul, was one of those gentle, nice guys who would knock your ass out in 5 seconds if he got mad. He sparred with Ken Norton and Larry Holmes in the early 70s and could have been a legit heavyweight boxer had he not decided to get out of the sport. I saw Brian KO 2 guys one after the other after a Bengals game one day. We were sitting in a traffic jam and two guys were trying to direct traffic , not letting anyone in our lane get over. Brian got out and started to let our lane thru and a guy comes at him with a whiskey bottle , gets hit in the point of his chin and went to sleep. Out jumps his friend , same deal except he only had a 12 oz beer bottle. Walked into a straight right hand , nose splatters and he falls on his friend ,still laying in the middle of Columbia Parkway. I was 14 yrs old and afraid to get out of the car because Bri told me to sit still .'These people are drunk' he told me. Brian felt bad about it all evening but he did what he had to.

Heres a story: Growing up(ages 9/10) I had a neighborhood friend. His dad was a martial arts instructor and taught all his children martial arts as well. Well, one day they were out at a public beach as a family. About 30 yards away, someones dog had gotten off its leash. It was a huge dog and clearly for security and I guess overprotective of its owner. For whatever reason when that dog got off its lease it made a Beeline to my friends family, barking and snarling. My friends dad stepped forward and told everybody to find shelter and to call the cops. As that dog zeroed in on my friends dad and jumped/lunged to bite him, friends dad connected with right straight to the chest of the dog. like where our sternum would be. Well, not alone did he kill the dog but his fist actually manage break skin and bone and penetrate the dog. So deep, that just his forearm muscle was poking out. Immediately after killing said animal he had to shake it off his fist and forearm and allow the animal to slide off his arm. My friend said it was 2 very quick movements in succession and it happened what seemed like a blink of an eye. He also said, “See? My dad can definitely beat up anyone else’s dad our school” 😂 Well played sir 🤣 ps. we were children and although I suspect some of the details might be off, I %100 believe my friends dad protected his family but punching a dog to death. His dad always struck me as a very intense person when I’d talk to him lmao

Well the first thing I’m going to do is jump out of the tank and shoot myself because I don’t want to wound that son of a bitch and have him pissed off at me."
