This video is fantastic!!! The production, the story telling, it really feels like I was there. I got flashbacks to AXPONA in Chicago, and feel very much the same, that the people there were so nice, so passionate, and were there for the love of sound rather than money. I got to meet fellow Patreons and a couple of the KZbinrs I support and cannot wait until next year.

I'm usually not that into Con's, but this one looked far better than i'd have imagined. Quite relaxed, but maybe that's just for the press days. Anyway i will consider attending next year. I've been to Audio Video show in Prague two times, which is basically this, but in a hotel. I'd say it's even more chill and friendly. Some booths will even offer you food like pie and stuff😆... And of course most of the systems sound amazing.
@taronlissimore56132 жыл бұрын
So it was definitely busier on the days that were open to the general public but it was still quiet enough that you didn't have to wait to listen to most gear and it was still comfortable. The caveat being that there was reduced capacity due to COVID-19 as well as what is going on in the Ukraine. From talking to vendors at the show, it sounded like there were probably 30% less people attending the show. This was easily my favourite show that I've been to though and I can't wait to go back next year!

Oh yeah, I love the Auris headphone amp, it sounds so great and makes every headphone I tried with it sound great, even the boringly flat Sennheiser! :O Also, I agree that the Focal Utopias + Naim amps were best in show for speakers. Really, really tight and powerful. I tried them at the Montreal Hi-Fi show 2022 and they were crazy good. But I have to say that I had a preference for the Bayz Audio setup. The depth of the soundstage was so impressive that I would have bought them if I had the money. Thanks for the video, you guys!

About the Neumann open-backs: when they sounded unremarkable to you guys ("it's a headphone"), was it implied that they were perfectly flat and suitable for studio recording, not at all exciting but without noticeable flaws... or that your impression of them was pretty bad of them, aka "no comment" given it's a reputable microphone brand?

I have to say, I'm not surprised at the reaction to the LCD-5. Everyone who's had it seems to say that it's ruthless when it comes to exposing inadequacies in the audio chain, so if the chain was lacking then it makes sense that it would sound bad.
@Disco_Potato2 жыл бұрын
Why would they show it off with an inadequate "chain"?

I completely disagree, I’ve heard the LCD-mid5 on the dCS LINA stack for hours (as well as other good setups). Still don’t like the 5, I much prefer the LCD-4 (even though it’s too heavy).

@@Disco_Potato Well, "inadequate" is a (somewhat) relative term when it comes to tuning, and it was probably also a demo of some other company's product line
