Bismillah You are a very articulate speaker. I have only heard and own the Fourte. This iem blows my mind in its resolution. I find it very detailed almost as good as my Utopias. It has a holographic soundstage like I have never heard in anything. I really like it’s bass slam and texture. Great review.

Great review. When someone is charging that kind of money I expect perfection, not in sound, because that’s based on taste, but on accessories. The fact that they offer this kind of cable is a bit insulting imo. For quality and accessories they have to take lessons from Sony if they aspire to be a serious company.

It is understandable when you realize that their main market was and is professional audio, and only in the last few years has grown into the audiophile market. So they are more into making outstanding iEMs. That’s where their money is spent, and I am sure it is not disrespecting us, but making sure a SMALL but effective company remains successful. Sony makes a top of the line IEM…that fits almost no ears. I bet they have a great box and cable. Which would rather have? Best in class that actually fits, or painful glitz? PS, so many competitors seem to use style as a marketing strategy at the expense of comfort and sometimes quality. I love my U12t, and I really don’t care that I replaced the cable. The IEM is a dream.

@@stephendenagy3396 agreed... i went from a sony ier m9 to the u12t and my first thought was blimey that's a shite cable and case... so i spent £30 on a new cable and £20 on a case... suddenly its not an issue no more... now sure these kind of things should be much better on a product costing £2000 but they do have the priority in the right place which is to design and tune a TOTL earphone, the M9 was great but the u12t is certainly greater... not tried the Z1R myself, it does look pretty awesome but the scare stories about fit and nuts, it wont matter how good it sounds if it is uncomfortable, would be like having an amazing hat that keeps your head warm in the arctic but the drawback is it covers your eyes so its unusable... M9 did fit really well though and was super nice so sony certainly have it in them, shame it isn't as high a focus for them and they leave it years between releases.

But they last forever. The u18t is otherworldly. As other iem come and go, u12t and u18t remain the Champs year over year in the community.

I have two friends that both have the fourte and had the trio and run it from the p6 pro dap and reported that the fourte was indeed a step up from the trio, but also recommended I get some serious source gear before considering making the jump to the fourte.

The Z1R is better imo for everything it does best vs. what everything the Trio does good. Unless you have a fit issue with the z1r, it is certainly superior imo.

The U-versions are afterthoughts of a custom design. The A18t really only works as custom where the tia placement is quite different

Any recommended tracks to show off center imaging?

Here are some of the tracks I use: Aimer - Sun Dance, Sawano Hiroyuki - A/Z, Sawano Hiroyuki - Cry, Taeyon - Fine. Discerning center image, at least for me, is most obvious when I'm focusing on where vocals are coming from on the center stage. Hope this helps!

For future reference when doing these kind of comparisons, I wouldn't mind a category section dedicated to just overall macro and micro contrast, great video. U12t looks kinda u-shaped, dunno if that's the kinda default sound sig I'd want when out and about, unless there isn't really a noticeable recession in the lower mids, I like that area for blocking out background noise and warmth for electric piano and synths, still tempted tho.

Why not a hearing test to see if you can really take advantage of those "highly resolving" IEMs? It's not like $2000 on just the earphone will stop the spending journey. You still need $4000 dac, $2000 amp, and upgrade the entire music library to match the dynamic range for your equipment.

I’m pretty sure highly resolving doesnt mean the extension of your IEM ability. It means how your IEM separating all the music cues, according to the audio engineer intentions and arrange them in an effortless manner without shoving them into your ears which would lead to hearing fatigue and sibilance. At least thats my take

Having just demoed Nio, U12T, and u18T my ranking is U18T > U12T > Nio. The step up in micro detail from U12T to U18T is immediately obvious especially on orchestral tracks. You hear everything. Vocals for both male and female also sounds more natural on the U18T than U12T. In short, don’t know why so much shilling for the U12T when U18T is definitely worth it if you are spending that much money in the first place. Lucky I demo myself instead of relying on reviews.

about the reverb. I have to say the reason is because is tubeless . Chamber like a Box in a home speaker instead of tubes that I don't like. That's the reason sony and 64 audio are kinds of chamber. You remove a box from a speakers and looses their image 3 d

U12ts are very good technically but as an audio enjoyment experience i found them super boring imo. Love my Tia Fourtes though. Paired up with my Effect audio Leonidis ii octa i have my ultimate musical experience.

@@nellatl uh have you actually owned 64 audio iem's ? because i have I've owned the u12t's and yes the iem's themselves are high quality but everything else about them is garbage the cable they come with is like the cable on gas station ear buds and the carrying case is made of cheap plastic like the same plastic on the toys you have to pay 50 ¢ for 😂 if i pay two thousand dollars for something i expect everything it comes with to be up to par but unfortunately 64 audio disappointed in that regard

@@Mr1stcat your right. I can't deny the accessories are crap. But the sound and the shell made out of airplane equipment will last forever. And they have flat fee repair only $99 for life. Compare that to like the mest mk2. Awesome iem with great accessories, but within first year, multiple people complain about fit issues and broken iem. U close to never hear about 64 u18t or u12t products breaking in first year. That's why you get virtually a lifetime warranty. U have to think about lifetime cost vs flashy accessories.

@@Mr1stcat also pissed I bought the 2020 Solaris. The treble on this thing is garbage. It's way overpriced for what it does. I actually bought a $300 China hifi iem on Amazon that blows Solaris out of the water in literally every way besides Soundstage. Bad guy good review told me about it. I thought he was clearly lying because no way a 300 iem can be better than 1500 iem. I'm still blown away by the sound quality of it. If this performs at $300 Solaris 2020 should only cost $200 at best. Talk about overpriced campfire Audio.

Tia fourte is probably the worst high end iem I’ve ever heard.
