I love listening to Eddie Howe. He took such a sensible honest and actually quite brave approach to improving himself. A lot of football managers are simply no where near having the perspicacity to match EH. I have a huge respect and faith in him. I trust him to get things right. After the Aston Villa game you just knew he would put things right. And he did. I honestly think we - Nufc - are lucky to have him and I hope he stays for a long time and shapes the club.

People see the 'top 6' as an immovable object. Which it's not. Eddie Howe's Newcastle is the unstoppable force to break it. Just look at Chelsea, how they are almost involved in a relegation battle this year. Spurs will probably fall off too.

When he left Bournemouth I supported him to go for a top 6 team. His team genuinely played football and went after wins though on a shoe strong budget. His quality was there for all to see. He definitely didn't fail.

It's nice to see a manager admit that you sometimes have to put your ego to the side and be introspective and examine where you are, how you got there and what you need to change to improve.

Next season will be a huge determinant on whether EH is good enough to take this team further. In some respects he caught everyone off guard this season and has profited from a number of the bigger sides (Liverpool / Chelsea) not being at their best. No one will be surprised by Newcastle any more when they finish 3rd this season and so next season brings a totally different scenario both inside and outside the club. Inside the players that are there will now have pressure to perform as well as or better than 3rd place - that's hard to do - particularly when many aren't elite. On the outside teams will start treating Newcastle like they do the Man City's of this world and just look to sit in a low block and try to come away with a draw. That presents an entirely different challenge and requires different players to break teams down. Newcastle have a lot of success with their speed in transition but a low block largely neutralises this and requires more intricate passing moves. Next season could see some regression, but we will see.

Never seen Alan Shearer so proud looking… NUFC are doing a fantastic job… hopefully this warm up of ‘greatness’ is a warm up for next season… be nice for the Geordie’s to have champ league and maybe challenge for a title again…. God they’ve had a wait to be back up top 😂 Still…. Like a lot of these prem teams…. They’ll never match Nottingham Forest European cups etc ❤ COYR !!!

Would really like to know what he thinks about having Cristiano on his squad next season? Considering how “toxic” Cristiano has become, wonder if there is the fear of failure that happened with Man U, Portugal and even in Al Nassr some games it’s almost like no lessons learned from previous mistakes. Having Cristiano back on the prem would be great but I wouldn’t want him to mess up this Newcastle squad. All the best✌️
