The candor here is wonderful. During his playing days, Joe was both a real scalawag and a pantomime villain. Somebody who you could really love or hate. Just his sheer presence was and is great for the game. The haircut alone was worth the price of admission. His “getting back on the horse” interview is a masterpiece.

This is a brilliant podcast, but just some honest feedback. There are too many adverts. They are interrupting the flow of the brilliant content.
@aidanosullivan83012 күн бұрын
Given the seriousness of this interview, the advert interruptions are unacceptable

The adverts enables this type of interview to take places. You can pay to not have the adverts from KZbin. The high performance sponsorships enable the presenters to take the time to interview guests. It’s a small price to pay (your time) to be able to watch content like this.

Joe’s story resonates a lot with me; I had a mental breakdown and his book and documentary helped me through it. I started medication and therapy, and I’ve carried it through to today. I’m a Tighthead prop and come from a family that doesn’t like talk about mental health, having someone like Joe discussing his experience for me was literally a life saver. Thank you Joe for what you have done on and off the pitch, you legend.

I can honestly understand what that feels like, I've had very similar issues with myself, and the way it just explodes out, they guily you then feel afterwards. Thank you for been so honest and open about this and bringing it to the forefront, I have found a new respect for you Joe

The more I listen to Joe the more I begin to understand myself. I’m a lot older! In fact almost twice his age. I also played front row rugby at club level for 24years. I also was extremely aggressive and had many sendings off. I also destroyed my personal life in my 30’s because of my difficult temperament. Cost me two marriages. Took me a long time to work it out and my 3rd wife to save my life! Thanks Joe for opening up and sharing. There was no therapy available to me when I was younger so it just carried on. I hope that young guys who are struggling with mental health issues take note and inspiration from your honesty. God bless you Joe. 👍🏉

Joe's story resonated strongly with me. He's inspirational how he's faced his issues, is so refreshingly self aware and continues to work on himself. I took a lot from that. Thanks, Joe.

Two comments from a guy that doesn't know much about this guy as a player because I live in the US and just got turned on to Rugby in the past year. 1- This is extremely brave 2- This guy is going to hurt himself if he doesn't get real help. It is not enough for someone like this to be brave and use his platform to help others which is noble, it is about helping HIM. Wishing you the best Joe Marler!

This is a great video for everybody not just high-performance sports people. There is much more than therapy, EMDR isn't classical therapy, neither is tapping but they can be just as effective. Mindfulness is something I use with athletes.

It took me 44 years to tell my lovely wife that I wasn't doing too well. She knows what happened in my childhood and has put up with an awful lot of self destructive behaviour from me aimed at me. I'm 51 now and while I don't love myself, I think I'm not too bad.

Joe describes how I feel. I doubt he has any idea how many people he has helped. I'm really struggling right now and I'm in a very dark place. That's why I'm watching this. Then I'm taking the horses to water and losing it laughing because it's him saying stuff that I type. Joe you are a hero. I understand everything you say. Not bad for a lager shandy drinking southern softy. 😂😂

I recently lost my job at the age of 45. In addition to having access to Tricare and VA healthcare, I also receive a 9K military pension. I'm thinking of selling or renting my house and moving overseas with my cash, assets, and 401(k). What are some good passive income opportunities?

It makes sense to consider a financial advisor at this stage, but delaying retirement might be a smarter choice Consulting a financial advisor is a logical step at this point, but postponing retirement could be a wiser decision

I'm not sure whether I should merge all of my investing accounts into one. If so, what should I know and how should I respond to this? In addition, I intend to sell my property, which might potentially fetch an additional $200,000. Is it better to put everything in one account or spread it out among several investments?

These are important questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a summit, and with her assistance, my wife and I reallocate our $1.7 million assets between a regular IRA and a brokerage account. She has been handling the investment with our agreement and has helped us recover twice as much as we lost. Currently holding steady and gently navigating the market
