The section from Chester to Burney is filled with extreme variety...extreme heat and lack of water on exposed Hat Creek Rim and abundant water in Cassel.

Fun seeing the Hat Creek Rim again. Been across there twice, great place to train newbie hikers (in April or May of course, not July!). If you ever go back, don't miss JJ's Cafe in Old Station... burgers and beer to rival the Paradise Valley Cafe in Anza.

Tom Salter I met her at the Cache 22 water storage tank just after the Hat Creek Rim hike. She drove up with her daughter where I was camped and asked me if I wanted to come to her house and stay instead of going to a motel in Burney. A super nice lady. Yes, Burney Falls is definitely going to be featured in the next video.
