@@jk3053 I disagree, if you watch the complete broadcast as I have, you will see that Bill Maher is actually in awe of Burr, and would have lit into him far more than he did if he didn't respect his comedic chops while (perhaps) envy his current popularity and influence in popular culture. I have always thought that Bill Maher had created great platforms for political discussion, but his personal contribution to the "free market of ideas" have often been poorly articulated or even intellectually dishonest.

I think Maher means the easiest line to take is some vaguely pro-Palestinian sentiment like, "we need to stop the killing in Gaza" or "we need an immediate cease-fire." Things that would only return things to an awful status quo but sound good to many people right now. It *is* more difficult to say, "the war and the killing must continue." I'm a fan of Bill Burr, but I don't think he has much expertise on the Israel-Palestine issue. However, I wouldn't consider Maher a scholar on it either. Just more knowledgable than Burr.
