The original Carolina home jersey was my first jersey ever! I was 7 years old and needed a jersey for hockey practice. I didn’t know the NHL or the Canes that well, but I thought the crest was rad as hell😅

Shannon, as a Canes fan, I'm probably gonna take some heat for this from other Canes fans, but the one you showed at 8:54 (the 2017-2022 primary home) is my favorite of them all. I like simple better.

I got my Stadium Series customized with Aho and I will say it looks much nicer than it does blank especially with the stadium series patch on the shoulder and the associate captain A crest on the front. I'd probably say it's my favorite jersey in my collection at the moment.

But my favourite jersey for Carolina is the black with the flags, my favourite whalers jersey is when they got their own colours (instead of using vancouvers) and had the w with the harpoon through it.

I'm not a Canes fan, but I live in North Carolina and support them when they're not playing my team. My move here coincided with the introduction of the black jersey. So it is special to me, but I really prefer them in red. Their current throwback and the recently retired red are their two best jerseys, imo. You're also 100% correct about the reason people want the Whalers back, outside of some Connecticut locals who miss their team. It's because that brand is one of the best ever.

Just as a heads up... The red sweater at 8:54 with the muted flag stripe will be returning this season as the Home 3rd (black sweater with storm flag as the Home Primary). They didn't use it last season at all, opting to go with the 25th Anniversary sweater as the Home 3rd. I'm personally a big fan of this jersey. It's my favorite red uniform they've ever used. The striping feels classic and straightforward. None of the silver glitter. Quality logo, quality material. And the collar is just perfect.

I have no love for the Canes as Devils fan but I think your way wrong on the flags around the waist being ugly, that was always my favrotite part of their jerseys. Also the secondary is the better logo

The lettering on the Stadium series and patches makes it pop, it's one of my favorites when it is fullly kitted out. It is one of my favorites. I also believe they are making the 25th Anniversary the home jersey this year.

Canes ran the 25ths as the red jersey last season, no word if prior red is back this sea or a new one is coming. My 1st canes jersey was og black. I then got og red and white on clrx. I got that plain red as a Eric Staal when he retired. Next one is the current black--,my favorite. I then got new red, which I also like. I got the adidas pucky Whalers on sale. Next I got the current white on sale and had to burn expiring fan cash on Fanatics lol, I don't overly like it. Next I have 2 adidas tadium series jerseys. I have 2 25ths. I also have adidas rr Whalers. I don't have the rr canes one...to much like the white, although, if a sale comes my way... I might get that blue adidas Whalers this year....

I actually love the idea of this past years RR being the official jersey. I think it really pops with inclusion of so much of the other colors. They look really sharp on the ice as well. Keep the all black as the 3rd. Wear the 25’s as a special occasion alt.

Reebok authentics still had black interior collars in the later years. The only exceptions are the Stadium Series authentics which had green collars. The neon collars are indo-Edges which are not the same quality as what was worn on the ice. Fans were livid and Reebok continued to make on-ice authentics available to collectors. That continued until the NHL jersey manufacturer rights shifted over to Adidas

Wanted to mention in between the 2 Flags on current home jersey, the empty space creates an outline of the state of NC. Not sure how many other NHL teams besides Vegas ( V) has this type of design.

Islanders technically have geographical nod in their logo, though it’s now outdated as the blue on Long Island points to the location of Nassau Coliseum, which they obviously no longer play at

I was always a big fan of the Hartford Whalers sweater/jersey. I'm a fan of good green uniforms (Minnesota North Stars) which seems to be the fourth or fifth choice of colour in the NHL after :1.Red 2. Blue 3. Yellow/gold 4. Black 5. Purple 6. Silver and finally green. Hated the carolina hurricane jersey, partly because i loved the Whaler design and colour so much. I didn't remember Pucky but he has a plucky pacman look to him. Don't like the squares at the bottom of the Hurricane jersey. Oh those are Flags?? See this is educational too. I don't mind the Vortex but prefer the whale flipper. The latest one is kind of boring. The Canes jerseys are terrible. Gelinas had some great moments in Calgary. Sweet of the NHL to take advantage of nostalgia for defunct teams.

I think the canes current jerseys are their best. I just dont love the hurricane logo as its a bit simple and boring to me. I think the stadium jersey colors make it look better too

Carolina has some of my favorite branding ever, even when you include Hartford. I agree that the navy blue Hartford one is the best, and I even really like the greay one. My only complaint is that they make their current away reflect their red ones gain. Otherwise I love their jerseys, I love their uniforms as a whole, and that black uniform is the perfect alternate (I don't like it as much as a home jersey because I feel an all red uniform is kinda the identity of Carolina now and you can't go back on it). I do take issue with the uniform with white stripes because those are so lame in comparison to what they had.

I personally hated the re-design with the removed flag stripes. The Candy Cane jersey isn't a bad jersey, but it's just so boring and has no identity other than the logo. Honestly pretty fitting for the Canes teams that wore it during the dark ages.

I couldn't agree more.....The "CANES" jersey sucks. Kinda looks like the Rangers logo. There are a lot of NYC transplants in Raliegh and part of me believes they made it for them. Rangers fans in Raliegh will sport Carolina gear 95% of the season. They put on the Rangers jersey when they come to town. Then go back to cheering for the Canes lol

They retired the muted flags one, the 25th anniversary was our third last year and will be again this year (and going forward). If they do make a change, it'll be to that one, and I actually expect it to become the full time home jersey again- most fans I know still think changing it was a mistake. Seriously, they added the stupid go nowhere fake yoke in 2007-8, and they've never had anywhere near as strong a look since. One note on the jersey philosophy-they explicitly want to maintain three different jerseys (or more) knowing that people prefer different logos. Dundon's idea. It's different, but I don't mind it. And for last year's reverse retro, they wanted to do something new, but Adidas told them no, so they basically told Adidas to shove it and "threw back" to 2019. Oh, and you're right, praising the wal mart knockoff red is hersey. Absolutely zero love in the fanbase. I did like the corresponding white jersey though.

I like to say that the “Canes” jersey is really “Anes” and the “C” is for “Captain”. The Whalers logo is an all time top mark ever. Timeless.
