The Jets had tons of prospects stuck on the Moose because there were vets in the way. In case you didnt notice there were some spots that opened up this summer and Chevy hasnt been trying to fill them with free agents or trades. To me that signals a youth movement. Perfetti, Lucis, Barlow, Chibrikov, Lambert, Yager, etc will all get a shot to earn top 6 minutes. On defense as much as id like to fire pionk and his contract into the sun nobody is touching that so we get to eat the last year and smile about it. Demelo is a fantastic partner for Morrissey but i still want a true #1 so he be paired with Samburg on the 2nd pair. Heinola, Salossamon, Stanley and Miller are fine as the 3rd pair/press box

The only Jet prospect you are missing Shannon is the MOST important one - Elias Salomonsson. He's a RHD Swedish 19 y/o with ALL the tools and North American sandpaper. Skates, Shoots, can play dirty, 6'2" / 185 lbs. Many of us Winnipeggers that follow everything Jets expect him to be on the Jets roster at some time this season. Ask Yvonne, she will know. Just buggin ya, but VERY surprised you didn't mention him. Cheers.

Wheels was 36 before the bandwagon caught up to him... hold off on the Sheifele B/S for another few years at least. then you can complain for no reason! besides your feelings and beliefs... why are you not an expert or even close to it? you seem so smart. A year ago we were talking Jets rebuild and wondering if Scheif and Helly were on their way out. This year we have far less questions, we came off a strong regular season last year, and the players in development are one year closer and some will likely make an appearance this year. Time will tell if the coaching changes will help this team or not. If they can get the PP and PK up to a top 10 level, team likely has an excellent chance to make the playoffs. Will be interesting to see how it goes this year!

Great thoughts, Shannon!! First and foremost, I love the jersey you're wearing, will have to keep my eyes open for one like that. I am happy we will get to see the kids get a good tryout for the Jets, it's way overdue, in my opinion. Find the right line combos and we could be cooking. I'm intrigued with the idea of having Lowry with Nik... they have made magic very occasionally when Bones would put Lowry out on the ice for OT with Nik, Lowry would get the puck, then send it down to Nikky who would come flying down the ice and bury it behind whichever goalie they were playing against. Plus it's kind of a built in bodyguard, Nik gets picked on if he's with smaller linemates. He did do beautifully during that segment of the year when he was with Scheif and Vilardi also so I would hope with the greater emphasis on analytics, that coaches will see Nik's value in zone entries etc and use him accordingly. He is the most exhilarating player on the Jets to watch and is my top favorite (so I'm a wee bit biased LOL). Eventually, if our newest guy, Brayden Yager, gets a roster spot on the Jets, I'd love to see him centre a line with Nik and Brad Lambert. Helle did 60 games this last year and seemed to run out of energy with that amount of play so ideally if he gets 55, that could help with potential post season success.

Newly subscribed to your channel. Really enjoying the content. Looking forward to seeing how the Jets play this year. Think Hellebuyck needs to play a bit less in regular season but as you said, will depend on how the back up fairs. They need to get the young guys in and play them. Need to re-send the message as being draft and develop. Push the competition in the team.

The Jets will be interesting this season. 3rd place is possible however with a new HC and if they let more younger guys play (which I'm okay with) I can see them falling to 4th or 5th. In that case they'll be fighting for a wild card spot. Ideally Helleybuck will play less than 60 games however it could be that much or more depending on how Khakkonen plays and their situation going into the playoffs. As I said, it should be an interesting year!

After 2018, that was the time for this organization to go all in and go after some FAs and build off the success of that season. Instead, they didn't try to re-sign Stastny and let him walk, and didn't try to replace him and just elevated Brian Little to the 2C. That was a huge lost opportunity. And really, the Jets, are like poorer, but more successful version of Toronto, as they've won 3 playoff series to Toronto's 1. At the same time though, the Jets, like the Leafs, have an ownership group and front office that is absolutely terrified of change and will keep running the same thing back, year after year. Anyone but Stanley. Takes too many penalties. Other than that, I see this team barely making it to the playoffs, with a couple wins but a first round loss. It's just how we roll, until we change our ways. Doesn't matter how we do in regular season, I'm more concerned on how we do in this year's playoffs.

To the Wheeler haters... Sheifele is a consistent scorer, but still not as good as Wheels! let that sink in while you rewrite history of the "cancer in the locker room nonsense"

Always liked Wheeler. I heard Rumors of Dressing Room Cliques but who knows. He was a good Jet.

The Jets are full of wimps. Who cares if we make the playoffs, this team won’t win, lack GUTS and Leadership.
