As someone who's from the new England area, I can't stand jack Edwards. Even if a player from the other team makes a good play or something, he can't give any credit to that team. Also, if a play is dirty and it's against the Bruins, it's always a harsh call, but if it's against the other team, it's always a good call
@Bdots446 жыл бұрын
Tylercbj7 You clearly don’t watch him then. He gives credit to guys all the time who aren’t on the Bruins. I’m being so serious too, he really does. I agree he can be a homer sometimes, but NESN is a New England network where everyone watching is a Bruins fan. So lay off a little, would ya?

I absolutely LOVE JK and Panger on our local STL broadcasts, Panger is simply a local treasure here in St Louis - he's probably as well known as guys like Tim McCarver and Joe Buck (baseball guys) and his "holy jumpin", "the old nine o' hearts", "thanks for comin" never get old. I cannot stand Mike Millbury. I agree with everything you said about him - he sounds dull like he couldn't care less about what he's doing. Whenever the Blues are on NBC I just pray it's Doc Emrick, although I don't mind John Forslund or Kenny Albert either. I always in the past would hope for Doc to call our games cause we'd get Olczyk too, but with him having cancer this year we've gotten a lot of Millbury. And NBC can do better than Pierre Mcgwire, but I'd rather have him do national games so we can keep Panger. Panger is great on national games but when he's doing Blues telecasts, HOLY JUMPIN he's the most colorful person interview he world.

Just coming across this video now and I agree with you about Edwards. He has a ton of natural talent as an announcer. But as a play-by-play guy, even for a local team, you can't be that big of a homer and be taken seriously. I've learned that the hard way when I was in school and early on in my career as a broadcaster. A color guy can get away with some bias, a play-by-play guy cannot.

These guys were Classic and Iconic, McFarland was always gentlemanly, never really condescending and would tell anecdotes, Goldham you always learned something, and he had a great sense of humor, Johnny Pierson was always slightly bias, but he always praised players when they made a Fine play, he wasn't condescending either. I love Hewitt, because he was crisp on the Play by play, he wasn't biased, and he talked with his color men, Gallivan, never can watch a Canadiens game without hearing Danny go through my head, "'And he let go a Cannonading Drive, but Bower Stopped it Magnificently!'", like a verbal poet behind the Microphone. Fred Cusick, always a great play by play man, always partial to the bruins but willing to hand out praise to Opposing Players, I can still hear him say, "'Score!
