Yes, it makes sense. I love the jersey contdowns like everyone esle, but ranking a jersey #480 or #481 seems silly to me... Go team by team, and then maybe the Top-3 of each team go into a general countdown (Top-100 kinda)

I find it ridiculous that the original ownership didn't like that the team was named Penguins given that I wouldn't even be a fan if it wasn't. Heck I might not have even got into Ice Hockey as a kid if there wasn't a team called the Penguins: Hockey's not all that popular here in England. Also Robo Penguin was the logo when I fell in love with the team, as a kid I had a cap with the logo on and it screams nostalgia for me. Having said all that... the new one is really smart and if I was in the market for a new jersey then I'd definitely consider it!

If I was a Penguins fan, I'd have disdain for the Robo Penguin. They win two Stanley Cups in a row. Ditched their winning uniforms. Adopted the Robo Pen the next year and lose to a completely shit Islanders team that finished 30 points behind them in the regular season. They never won anything in the Robo Pens jerseys.

@@RRaquello That is a good reason to dislike a change of jerseys and logo. The Rams did that after winning the SB in 2000 and never won another one when they should have had more than one SB during that time. The Broncos in 97 changed their jerseys and logo after getting upset as the top seed in the AFC by the second year Jaguars and won two straight SBs after. Like THG says, if you win in new jerseys, the fans will like them. If you lose in them, fans will hate them.

From Pgh and think the new 3rds are excellent. Prefer the robo penguin logo but the current one is nice too. Really think it'd be cool if they switched to having the new 3rd and the reverse retro being their main home and away jerseys and then introduce old school baby blue as a third in the future.

I'll probably always prefer the RoboPenguin logo being a 90's kid in PA. Could also be because of its simplicity. The only knock I have on the word Jerseys is my brain pictures a pirates baseball uniform but having something noticeably different to the main jerseys is kind of the point.

Pens fan here. I prefer the newer version too. I got into the Penguins (and just hockey in general) in the late 90s, and by then they were already wearing the Robopenguin with the gradient waist stripe full-time, which I absolutely loved (I was around 10/12 yrs old). I didn't see the wordmark jersey until a little later, and then it looked so empty and boring compared to the Robopenguin jersey so I really didn't care for it all that much. Over time I got more accustomed to it, but it's never been one of my favorites. It wasn't until last year when they released the Reverse Retro version when I really loved a Pens wordmark jersey. It's one of my favorite Penguins jerseys of all time, and I really love what they did with the new black one. Can't wait to get one! As for the 1967 ones.. I've never been a huge fan of the baby blue as a main color, I prefer it as an accent. I think the white version of that jersey is fantastic though, but if they were to do another throwback to those jersrys I'd love to see them with the 2011 Winter Classic coloring instead. Not saying that the baby blues are bad in any way, I just prefer the others.

For a wordmark jersey, I liked the 90's Penguins color jersey and I like the new 3rd jersey. If I could change one thing about the current 3rd jersey it would be the shoulder patches should have had the gold upside down triangle with the current penguin logo. I think ranking jerseys by teams for 2023 would be a great idea as it would be easier to find where you rank a specific jersey. The last list made that too hard without watching all the videos again.

For me, the Robo-Penguin attachment is personal. It was on a generic sweater given to my father by relatives who still live in Pittsburgh, and later handed down to me. It was meaningful from around the time I first began watching hockey on a limited basis when Crosby started playing, and became much more so when my father was diagnosed with cancer about a decade or so ago, and especially when he finally died from it four years ago. I actually don't wear it that often, both because it doesn't fit me well (I need to lose a lot of weight) but also for fear of wearing it out completely (it already has some damage because he used it for work a lot). But it is the one I tend to trot out for pictures and such on social media, both for the emotional significance and because I do like that logo better than the Skating Penguin logo (which nonetheless is on the sweater I wear whenever the Pens are on TV where I live).

I have that 90's Penguins jersey. It's the only real, authentic jersey I have in my collection (the other 3 are official issue, not counterfeits, but are throwbacks). I'm not a Penguins fan, but I got it because I had to go to Boston. I took the train, and the station was right at the old Boston Garden, which they were demolishing at the time,. But the Bruins team store was still open. I had time to kill, and walked in and they had a rack of jerseys from all different teams with the prices slashed down almost to nothing, trying to sell off everything. I saw that Penguins jersey with number 10 and Ron Francis's name on the back and the "A" on the shoulder, and it had the fight strap and everything. Completely authentic. For 20 dollars. It looked beautiful, and for that price I couldn't pass it up.

I started getting into hockey in 1991so it’s been over 30 years the penguins are my favorite team and have been since we moved to Pennsylvania from Arizona. Fell in love with the game right away and my first 2 years the Pens win the Stanley Cup. Howard Baldwin the new owner, a terrible owner too decided to change the logo from the one that I had an emotional connection with and most all fans identified that logo as Stanley Cup champions. Baldwin decided no..we need a corporate looking logo it’s gonna be a triangle with a pigeon’s head coming out of it. That’s what i felt it looked at the time and i have always HATED that logo. I have an authentic Lemieux in that 95 jersey and i have to agree, i like the adidas one a little more, mostly because of the neckline and the new/old logo instead of pigeon head. However the CCM authentic is way nicer than the replica! I got my jersey yesterday from BenH he owes me a free jersey because the white Senators i bought was so messed up. The body was for a size 42 and the sleeves were for a size 50😂. I had done a really good job to avoid seeing or hearing about the Penguins 3rd jersey, but i had a feeling they were going to go back to that black one. Kind of surprised me because the Reverse Retro did not sell very well. They had to discount them at like 50% off back in july on the team’s website. I bought 3 of them.

Well, back in 1992, it was called a pigeon, not a robo penguin. I have the old jersey. It has Chris Tamer's name and number, with the pigeon. I bought it in August 1995 right after I returned to Western Pennsylvania. I see no return to the baby blue. Never liked them and they were from a losing time in the team's history. The wordmark road Jersey was dumped for the multicolored third Jersey as the road jersey in 1996, and it was not seen again.

Pens fan here. I like everything with the new one with the exception of the logo on the shoulders is missing the golden triangle which truly makes it a Pittsburgh logo and I'm not a fan of the shoulder numbering font. The font size of the shoulder numbers is just way too large and clunky looking.
