It seems like Slavin is getting less and less "underrated" as the years go on. He's one of the few players in the league who has proven repeatedly that he can stop a healthy McDavid 1-on-1 (there is video evidence of this).

Love the honorable mention for Mrazek. Honestly when he first started playing for the Hawks I was not a fan, and focused on the fact that Leafs gave up some draft capital to unload him. Boy has he proved me wrong this year, even if record doesnt show it.

Reinhart came over at the same time as Bennett so he was overshadowed by Bennett's immediate impact. The same year Verhaeghe had his first crazy season, Reinhart was third in points and goals that year, the next year it was the blockbuster Tkachuk trade year, again third in points and goals, and the second best player in the playoffs for the panthers. Now the roster is settled a bit and he has developed chemistry with everyone on the team. He also had the opportunity to step up in this first part of the season, and has on every line combination he is apart of. Maurice says he's got the highest hockey IQ he's ever seen, and will probably coach as soon as he retires. I hope the panthers can hold on to him, because as barkov has said this probably won't even be his best year!

Great channel! You should do this with a twist annually; Do what player/coach you'd take from each team (only one/team) to build your team: 2 goalies, 7 D-men, 13 Forwards, 3 coaches (head coach, defensive coach, offensive coach) that leaves 7 teams out that you don't pick from - create some good debate 😉

If you can get both Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby unhinged enough to do stupid things against you and they get ejected, you're doing something right as a mild-on-the-ice defensive defenseman. For all the bad that’s happening on the island rn, horvat has been a bright spot. He isn’t scoring as much as hoped for but he’s still producing at a career high level. On pace for 45 assists (34 is his career high set in 2019) and 71 points (also a career high). He’s been elite next to holmstrom on the pk (most of our pk struggles come from Mayfield Cal Casey and coaching) and he’s given the power play the spark it needed. Was against the trade and extension at first but he’s proving me wrong this year

I'm absolutely chuffed with Lindgren. My problem is he seems to have to be playing regularly to be good. He's either a starter or he's no good. Look at December last year where he played just about every game and the Caps won almost every game. He was excellent and he still ended up a sub .900 on the season. IF Kuemper can get healthy this season we have a problem. They're paying Kuemper a lot of money to be a back-up if they stick with Lindgren. On a positive note they have a bit of cap space with Backstrom out.

Rem Pitlick is with Pittsburgh but he's stuck at WBS, his cap hit was the problem which is why he's unable to make headway into the main team as they can't get cap relief sending Carter down. Zohorna has been genuinely really good, he's not the most exciting watch or anything, he seems like he doesn't use his size and isn't some high-skill player so he can frustrate at times, but he just produces and that third line of O'Connor-Eller-Zohorna has been very effective with very good results ever since he came up. He just does things that seem to help the players around him play better even if he isn't being conspicuously great himself.

It's so much more calming to watch a game now than when Samsonov/Vanecek was in the nets. They are good too...but sometimes they weren't. So far with Darcy/Charlie most goals against them are the Caps forward/defense faults putting them in a bad situation.

Skinner has been very consistent for the Sabres and is one of the few guys that actually goes to the net on the team. The Sabres will get going, injuries have hurt them and the younger core having a slow start (Power, Cozens) hasn’t helped. I think they are due for a big win streak eventually, just not sure when. Goaltending and team defense also continue to hurt them and there offense has not found its groove yet. People forget how young they are still.

Otter might be overrated at times, but it's hard not to root for him. There is a difference (at least for me as a Stars fan) between him and guys like Hellebuyck, Sorokin, Shesterkin, Saros, Vasilyevsky - you can clearly see that his ceiling is insanely high, he's just unable to turn on the "unstoppable machine" mode yet, or at least not for long. It can be frustrating, like in the last game against Colorado, but it also makes him more "human", he's just a young guy full of raw talent that screws up sometimes, but always comes back. That's why we like him so much. He's, in a way, relatable.

Other than that, I also really like to root for players who have struggled/are called busts. My favorite Shark is Zadina, and my favorite Ranger is Lafrenière. For the Coyotes, the team I watch the most, I have to mention Maccelli because he's one of the best passers in the league imo.

Just a reminder that Mitch Marner now has a no-movement clause.

That's good to hear. Would hate to lose a homegrown star. Marner's one of the top 5 or 6 play-makers in the league, is still young and has a lot of heart.

For the Blues, Thomas is developing into his full potential, which is great to see. Kyrou is improving his 200-foot game, which may be why his points-scoring is lagging a bit. I’m liking the play of Neighbours, Perunovich, and Toropchenko (my favorite lately-size, speed, grit-what’s not to like?). Hofer’s been solid in goal for a rookie. I can see the STL retool working out pretty well over the next few seasons.

I'm an Ottawa fan and I think Sanderson and Chycrun are the best guys on the Sens' blue line. Followed by Zub. Big fan of Chabot but he is being forced down the depth chart. Its a good problem to have.

I was expecting Sturm to be your pick for the Sharks...earlier in the video you were talking about someone being a "no BS" interview (or something like that, forgot the wording) and that describes Sturm as well.

I was expecting K’Andre Miller for the Rangers. The more you watch him on both ends of the ice the more there is to love

Tavares is the one to go if Leafs have to lose 1. Nylander is leading the core right now, but you can't put a monetary value on Mitch and Austons chemistry.

Draisaitl, Matty Tkachuk and Pavelski for me. HM/SO to my home town boys; Crosby, MacKinnon and Marchand. Quite a top line Greater Halifax could put together for Team Canada🤌

Shannon. At least you & I are in agreement about Chicago & Former Chicago Players. I've chosen Bedard, Schmaltz & DeBrincat, too, but, unlike you, Chicago is One Of My Favorite Teams. We've got Ex-Ranger Frank Vatrano, too, but, I'd put Ryan Strome in too. I guess because I'm a Fan of yours & The Channel, I guessed some of your picks.

You should do a top 30 defencemen of your time watching hockey video. And then maybe do the other positions too if it goes well. But I would really like a video on the best defensemen you’ve seen. If I did one of those, I would have like 8 years of defensemen to cover cause I’m only 18. Lol

I never understood why the Hawks gave up certain players too. I mean if they still had Schmaltz, Debrincat and Dach, then add Bedard they might be at least a playoff team right now.

Some of it was that the last GM had traded out 1st round picks (Debrincat) and the other, in my opinion, was them not wanting to sign long term on the cheap. Dach needed a fresh start somewhere else, and, I believe, Schmaltz was traded by the last GM.
