Boy do we love Belgian Tripel! Anybody else thrown in some DME in a pinch to meet expected gravity?

I never used DME for this purpose I usually extend the boiling time. Do you think it changed the taste of the beer?

You should get the blow off barb for the SS Brewtech fermenter.

Brilliant lads. Just did an Imperial IPA that came out at 9.98%. Decided to label it El Chapo as it was so unforgiving. Only made 5 gallon and the keg was gone in 2 weeks so will have to make a bigger batch as it was popular!

Sounds great! Would like to do a DIPA again soon. Always best to drink those fresh - and two weeks certainly qualifies! Impressively precise ABV by the way 😀

A friend introduced me to the Belgian Tripel that is brewed here in Texas! Devils Backbone! It has ruined me for other beers. I can no longer drink the mass produced domestic beers, they taste like the beer has been watered down!

Hey gents, Do you have a link to the recipe at all? Couldn’t get the whole recipe down is all....

I find those gravity / temperature adjustment calculators a bit rubbish to be honest. I just try to take a sample and let it cool down. Or could you have just used your tilt in the mash? maybe that's got a better calculator

Good point about the Tilt. Will start using that.

Maybe I missed something in the video, but I think you didn't get the right OG you were expecting because you didn't add the sugar when you measured it in the mash. Anyway I brewed this recipe too and it was great! Good job guys!

Oh that's good to hear - glad it turned out well. We definitely need to revisit this one.
