at 4 am only swatches a few i seem to have as many petra set watercolor markers or aqua markers is their name started getting a migraine had to stop but i watched ur whole video and it was informative and the waffle flower various swatch sets mainly the one the u used i used , i really love both the letraset and the WN markers so far

Hi and Thanks for this tutorial/review......I bought the W & N Watercolor markers and know they're lightfast but if I bought the Zig Kuretake Clean colors could I make them lightfast or block light?

i love the waffle flower swatch sets i believe i have them all and i have only the color wheel die i have so many dies that i just don't need more dies birthed color wheel u kind of need or i thought so haven't done a color wheel yet it's only been a couple weeks lol

I got these markers myself in a sale,they are so great, but I’m a beginner,just learning now so this video is so helpful. I know it’s not very complicated,but I wanted to ask you did you make this color chart,or is there a template I can download for swatching. Also after I got these, I found out about some brush markers made in Poland, they are called Karin brush markers pro, I don’t know if you heard about them. There are 60 colors, they look more like pens and they are see-through you can see the ink. They are dye based,but beautiful colors, they are in order to blend and they also have grays. Its just a brush nib, but very nice Japanese. A lot of people are using them for hand lettering,but they are beautiful to color. You can look them up,they have their own website. So, I have lot’s of watercolor brushes to play with. Thank you for sharing, if I can get that template,please let me know. I’m looking for one for the Karin, I might have to make one. Thanks😊

What I usually do for the template is take a sheet of paper, make a line at the top for my title, then measure out the paper according to how many markers I have. For example I’d I have 12 markers it will be 3 by 4 so then I’ll find which side of the paper divides by those numbers best and mark it, then make straight lines. I usually do it the same for most of my color charts. And yea I hear Karin markers are awesome. I don’t have them yet bc they are expensive! But I do enjoy Tombow, the Japanese brush pens!

TheHomegrownArtist Ya well I know to measure a sheet of paper and doing it like that of course, thought that there is a color chart, like many other markers do. The Karin is actually a little cheaper than the Tombow, it’s $100 for 60, a few weeks ago was $79 + shipping ya, but if you already have the Tombow that’s different. But they are different than the Tombows

Yea Karin markers are different than the Tombow for sure I just haven’t tried them yet. Would love to though! Yea I don’t know if there’s a color chart, I think most people make their own, I’m not sure 🤔

@@peaceandpaintbrushes Well actually now that we talked about the Karin markers, it seems they are not so great, or there is a problem with the set I got. I think I mentioned that they have 9 grays, and they won't spread at all with water. And actually most of the light colors are kind of dryer. First I thought it's the paper, but by now I tried at least 5 papers, good ones and I have the same issue. Amazon won't help because it came from the UK, if I want to return them I have to pay for shipping and I can't do that. I mean mostly they are great, colors are very nice, but I don't think that's right. And reviews I watched before they all said how juicy they are, but it's inconsistent, not all are juicy. The W&N I have they are better, but I only have 12 colors. I will try to contact Karin support directly see what they say, but I'm kind of disappointed now.

Oh no you can just lay the pigment on paper but be sure to move it with water quickly. Bug you can dip it in water if you want

There's probably a way to replace that nib and refill the pens. Most of us artists are POOR, we need to learn how to get more out of art supplies. ;-)

If you figure out a way let me know 😊. I think bc they are actually pigments it may be difficult bc the mixtures they used were made especially for the markers I’m assuming. Otherwise there would be way more pigment based markers out there rather than dye based.
