I've been using the NuFace Trinity for almost two and a half years now - just turned 71. I've been very happy with it. To be clear, it isn't a miracle worker. It also doesn't seem to have much effect on my wrinkles. It has, however, helped enormously with laxity just under my jowls, with a fold of skin that had developed between my eyes (now gone), and with some sagging in my cheeks that was causing the corners of my mouth to turn down, one side especially. It also helps with my eyelid sagging. It has a mild toning effect on the face muscles and gives my face a healthier color. The Trinity has five levels. It's not comfortable on my neck at the highest level so I use a lower level there and still get good results. I certainly agree that if you are looking for wrinkle elimination, there may be better at home devices, and that if you're very saggy, you won't get dramatic results from the NuFace - but, based on my experience and that of at least some over 50s, that doesn't mean it won't help you.

I just got the nuface mini as it was highly recommended and Ulta had it on sale at a significantly reduced price. I told myself I could still return it. Since I’m 68 and while I’ve been wearing sunscreen since the 80’s I inherited my dad’s jowls. I thought I might be too late. My goal was 3 days on, one day off. I do have a cup of water to rehydrate the gel. I use it on high. Within 2 weeks the difference in my jowls is pretty dramatic, my turkey neck is improved. I find it rather meditative so it’s easy to keep at it. I bought it a week before Black Friday….. I love it!

Hi Clare, I have used micro current for about 10 years now, & love it because it has always made me look youthful. I started with the Tua Viso & the Tua Trend which only need water without the gel. I love them, & still have them. The NuFace didn't do much for me, but I had both, along with the mini. I have the NRGY that's made from Truth treatments with both micro current & EMS, ( a bit strong, but effective. I purchased the Myolift QT & it is fast & easy to use, & it works. But recently I purchased the Halo Ziip & absolutely love it, & use it every other day. But my holy grail is the MiTama, which gives you an instant facial for at least 2 days. You just apply a sheet mask & place your electrodes on top & sit back & relax. I love it, & will never be without it!!!! I also purchased the Jane Mann Lift probe that you can attach to the MiTama, or the Myolift Qt or the Pico Tone, (which I don't have), And the Lift probe does a wonderful microcurrent job too! I also use the Omnilux LED mask daily alternating with the Qure, that only takes 3 minutes. Microcurrent & LED keeps me glowing!!!!

I am one of the people who experienced facial fat loss from a microcurrent device. I used the Foreo Bear for about 2 years and my face became visibly flatter and hollower with every use. I thought it was lymph drainage at first. So continued using it (which was a big mistake!). I lost volume everywhere I used the device. I saw no benefits. No lifting, no toning, no improvement to skin texture. I had initially begun using it in my early 30s as a preventative measure as I was noticing the beginning of shadows in the jowel area. I was hoping for some lifting or slowing down of this getting worse. Needless to say, the opposite happened! I have also always had a very full, round face and it was like the device ate my face and completely changed my facial shape! My cheeks vanished. My buccal fat is gone and my temples are now deep and hollow. I went through 3 Bear devices and all 3 developed the same fault within a few months (the middle light not lighting up ypon skin contact - if this light is not on then the microcurrent is not conducting). And all three did give me little uncomfortable shocks at times. I used as directed. I have managed to rebuild my cheeks a little bit using Adipeau for 6 months, but it didn't work on any other areas of the face and my face has never been the same 2 years after discontinuing microcurrent. So, I would advise caution and say it does come with a risk of facial fat loss without seeing any benefits for some people. Until we understand why this is, it's a game of Russian Roulette with your face!

Looking forward to hearing about Maysama Urchin. I can definitely see the improvements on your face Clare, your skin looks so much more tighter, lifted and ......well, just so healthy, from when I first started watching your first video, so well done. Thank you so much. I did a lot of research before buying two different devices (one of which I gave to my 40 year old daughter). I mentioned this in comments back in December. The one I use and love is the Pico Toner. It is strong enough for the body. Not inexpensive, but it gives you some options. Case in point, the Pico Toner comes with metallic gloves, so no conductive gel is needed. You only need to wet the gloves. I purchased the options of the ANMA and wands, and for those items you do need to use a conductive gel. With the gloves, I can give myself a hand treatment while watching a movie with my husband. It is worth it just for what it has done with my hands! Now, as to your point about the skin/muscle jumping, you do not want this. With the Pico Toner, you can set the device at a low setting, and you can increase the power, as you need. Obviously, the thick knee skin will take a stronger power versus the delicate skin on the neck.

Hi Clare. Thank you so much for this video. I had the Foreo Bear and found myself not using it because I couldn’t just pick it up and use it. I always had to use the app and, if my phone was downstairs or in another room, I would often not bother. In theory, once you’ve downloaded and registered the Bear, and set it up on the app, you should be able to use the Bear without the app but it never worked for me. I bought the Ziip Halo and I love it. I, like you, do the 4 minute workout about 5 times a week. I find it comfortable and very ergonomic whereas the Foreo Bear was less comfortable to hold in my hand. Thank you for the cheaper, alternative conductor gels/serums too. Some of the branded ones are very expensive. Great video, as always. 😊

I found it took longer than I had anticipated and it really annoyed my husband when I used it at night!!!! I gave it a go, religiously, for nearly a year, and saw no difference whatsoever!! So it now gathering dust!! I do love the CurrentBody LED mask that is so much easier to use - because I can get on with a few things around the house/or at work (from home!!!). A device very much like the NuFace came out in the 90s. I was working for a TV station at the time and sold the broadcast time for infomercials so I got one for free. I had some premature aging at the time (in my mid 30s) so I was keen to see if it helped. Tried it pretty religiously for almost a year and saw nothing in the way of improvement. You could certainly feel the current but I never got any benefit. Maybe they are different now, but I won’t spend that much money on something that will likely do very little.

For many devices, it’s always techniques. There’s specific techniques to be applied for desirable and optimal result. Like where to hold the probes, and how long you hold it for. Muscles in our face and bodies are like pulley system. You have to apply the device in the right area to achieve another area to lift up. Just like cars… you can’t say a car is awful, it really depends on the driver.

I am hoping you can do a video on this regarding sun protection. I don't think anybody has done anything like this. My question is about dark (black) clothing vs light clothing (white). Which one is better for sun protection? While I only know that black absorbs heat and white can deflect light, very limited knowledge, I really want to know the science behind it. I have issues with hypertrophy of the masseters due to clenching and grinding, which is a side effect to necessary medication I'm on. I actually worry about muscle stimulating devices because my masseters actually give me a band from my cheek/ear to my neck, which isn't particularly flattering.

This is so confusing to me. My plastic surgeon uses Botox to weaken the DAO and platysma muscles because he explained that these pull down and accelerate marionettes and sagging. I can’t imagine wanting to strengthen them to prevent aging. I also wonder if it would interfere with the effects of my Botox or counteract it entirely.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 4 ай бұрын
I think you probably have to pick one of two routes. You’re working your muscles to strengthen them (this helps with both bone and skin health but you can still get new line formation) or you’re freezing and weakening them.

With regards to facial fat loss, as you mentioned that would be nice for under the chin or maybe along the jowls but not good in the upper cheeks or forehead area. Do any of these devices have settings that would allow for a little bit of facial fat loss in some areas that can be adjusted to not lose fat in other areas?

The problem with figuring out these devices for me is that people say: I used it x years or for 2 weeks and see dramatic improvement, but never say how long they are using it?? There are quickie programs and longer programs; are people mixing it up, just doing the shorter programs or always doing the longer timed programs? With all the variability in use, it would be helpful to know! Also good to know you felt the Nuface- I couldn' feel a thing. I just got it and I can't feel anything, unlike my ZIIP. Maybe mine broke in shipping, idk.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think the answer would depend on how advanced the signs of aging are on your skin. It's definitely enough for helping get blood flowing to the skin and delaying the signs of aging, probably not enough for more advanced loss of elasticity. Hope that makes sense.

Can I please get your opinion on RF at home devices such as Amiro? Thank you.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 6 ай бұрын
I feel very cautious about RF because of the potential for fat loss. I would definitely choose a well-known brand with a clear track record if you're looking for a device and go very easy to begin with so you can see how your skin responds. From what I can tell from viewer feedback, most people seem to be fine with these devices but occasionally - and we don't know why - people report fat loss.
@Perthumery
@Perthumery 4 ай бұрын
What you are saying is a bit misleading. If device uses a microcurrent it does relax muscles, not doing the high intensity muscle exercise. Millicurrent can do it, and actually Foreo is a millicurrent device contrary to what the manufacturer declares. And whether either current can reduce the face fat - it’s a big question. Testing of any of these devices have been conducted on humans for any of action on anti aging, skin rejuvenation or even long time safety. And I am questioning it even more because it’s not difficult to do such a study. The studies you refer to are either on mices with unknown devise, strength and other parameters, and another is for wound healing - are we healing wounds? I am buying a ZIIP for swelling after surgery and my budget will not suffer even if it does nothing to my face and my plastic surgeon already did the rejuvenation job. He actually told me that nothing helps with face rejuvenation as 30 min work: oxygenation, blood circulation, limpharic drainage. And advised me not to waste money on only LED (unless it’s professional) or any other procedures or devices

It was my understanding that one always needs to use a conductive gel, ie one with minerals in it, when using a microcurrent device. And yet you said you've used one on a damp face and another with just hyaluronic acid. So how are we supposed to know which devices need the specialized microcurrent gels with minerals or simply use water or something like hyaluronic acid? I found this extremely confusing and hope that you will please clear this up. Thank you.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 11 ай бұрын
I use damp skin with the Phoenix which is a dermaroller with an extremely low current so it’s a little different to something like the NuFace. If you spend more and get a conductive gel you may well enjoy some benefits, and it may conduct better, but you don’t need to splash out on the expensive ones. I’ll do a bit of research on this and create a dedicated video on the best solutions to use and why.
