It is so funny you just put up this review. I am sending back the Smonet since it leaves dirt and sand in my pool and get's confused too often. I was just thinking of getting the S2 and was so happy to find you had uploaded a review.

@@imdefinitelydavid what would you say are the main differences between the S1 Pro and the S2? Do you prefer the S2 overall?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 21 күн бұрын
The weight difference is very noticeable. The Wybot S2 is much lighter to lug around. The S2 moves better in the pool than the S1 Pro does, but only on floor mode, other modes they're about the same. The S1 Pro however, has a better ultra-fine filter system. It uses a pleated filter so it filters more out than the S2 does because the S2 uses a sponge filter. It's still better than a normal fine filter but not as good as a pleated ultra-fine. So if you get A LOT/A TON of small sand like debris, the Aiper is better. I'm sticking to the Wybot S2 at the moment. It's working well in my setup since I don't get too much ultra-fine debris and I love how light it is. Before the S2 however, I was using the S1 Pro, so it's not to say the Aiper isn't a good choice. I just prefer the S2 at the moment.

Great review, thanks. I bought this a few days ago and might return it. Cleans Ok when it is working but half the time it is, "popping a wheelie" with the front end up like Evel Knievel. The trouble shooting steps Wybot gives you is clean the basket. It has been cleaned many times to no avail.

After using the Wybot S2 and having been using the Scuba S1 Pro before the Wybot... I can say that I'm switching to the S2! In almost every way, the S2 is better... it's lighter in weight, it runs longer in the pool, lots of cleaning modes, and it's less expensive... I'm shocked lol. I've switched to the S2 for now.

@imdefinitelydavid

The S2 I would consider the step up above the Niya Sonar 50. It would compare more so to the Niya Sonar 70 with it's ultra-fine filter but the release date on that one is yet to be determined unfortunately. But for a cordless with ultra-fine filter, it's my top choice to use at the moment.

Well the thing is, both Aiper and Wybot have similar reviews and dependability ratings(good and bad). But then again, big brands like Dolphin and Polaris also do. It's still too new to say that these cleaners will last years and years so unfortunately we just have to wait and see. I've been lucky enough to have success when using both brands/cleaners but others have had issues. I do really enjoy both brands and cleaners. Out of the two, the Scuba S1 Pro and the S2, at this moment, I've totally switched to the S2. It's physically lighter and easier to move around, and it does as well if not better in the pool. The only real extra thing I don't like is that the wifi has to be connected to switch to the weekly timer. It's an extra step and waiting period for it to connect. Aside from that, S2 is my go to right now.

Great video, Sir. I purchased the S2, and I'm getting ready to put it into the pool for the 1st time. I was going to put it on what I'll call the everything mode and let it do its thing for a few hours. Do you think this is okay, or should I do the waterline, then walls then floor. The suggestion of removing the "Ultra Fine Filter" has me wondering if I should do these modes separately. 🤔🤷‍♂️
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid Ай бұрын
If I use the cleaner once or twice a week I will most likely go into the All/everything mode. In the video, I like to show the different modes. I use the weekly timer more so than that mode though because I leave it in the pool for a week. If I want a deeper clean in areas, I'd switch it to the mode accordingly.

@imdefinitelydavid Got it, Thank you. I'm looking forward to future videos on this model. So far, it has been going for 80 minutes. The only mistake I made was forgetting to set the pattern 🤦‍♂️. It is in the "Start Pattern." That's not a problem, I just can't figure out where it is going next. I have a 35K gallon (inground) pool, so I think it will go for another 45 minutes before finishing. My area has a lot of grasshoppers & spiders that end up on the bottom nightly. The vacuum has no problem picking them up. Thanks for the response, Sir.

The M2 looks like the S2 but I'm curious as to how the "vision tech" cleaning works. Aside from that and an interchangeable battery which is cool and all, means you can just swap batteries when you want to run it back to back, there's a pretty big price difference so we'll see when it's released. As for the filter, if you can find it yes, can always replace it but I can't seem to find any at the moment.

I bought the Aiper first because of the great price on Prime day from Aiper because of the great price.....I was impressed. with workmanship and materials....but this thing is heavy......I then saw Davids review of the Wybot S2 and was really interested.....I bought it from Amazon with a $200 coupon.....When it got here I noticed how closely it looks like the Aiper....Same power supply but with slightly modified connector.....the Wybot also does not have a grounding plug which is dangerous when around water....in comparison, both work very well however the Aiper has a lot of difficulty with my tanning deck....it goes up steps very well, but stalls on the wall and never cleans the deck.......on the other hand, the Wybot climbs steps and cleans deck and tile and water line very well....thats what I wanted....I also looked and bought the Aiper S1 but it would climb steps but go to the wall with front end out of the water at a 45 degree angle.....running time on it ws almost 4hrs.....because of the 45 degree angle, I returned it... now that I have used the Aiper S1 Pro and the Wybot S2, I prefer the Wybot S2 for two reasons: 1) it is lighter and easier to get out of the water and cleaning the basket I dont get soaked; 2) it cleans the walls, water-line, floors and tile exceptionally well and last for almost 3hrs and 20 min.......although the Aiper, I consider a better product because of materials and filter, it is just too heavy.....my 5'-0" wife at 100 lbs can not get it out......treated well, the Wybot S2 and S2 Pro will last a long time.......Also, the Wybot app have a lot of options that Aiper does not have....I am sure over time they will improve the app, but for now the Wybot app has everything I need except a battery indicator and cleaning history.....I was told today that those items are being incorporated into the next app release...we will see....I am happy with the Wybot S2 and I am sure the Wybot S2 Pro with charging dock will be great as well.....I am waiting for that one to be delivered (15 Aug 24)

With the time scheduling feature, do you leave the vacuum in the pool for the week and just let it do its thing or do you take it out recharge and put it back in the pool but I guess that sort of defeats the scheduling if you have to be involved? How does that work?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 26 күн бұрын
You fully charge it first, then on the app you select the schedule you want. And from there you put it in the pool and leave it all week. It'll turn on based on how many times you selected and at the end of the week you take it out and charge it again, and repeat the same process every week. Hope that makes sense!

If you run this in plug and play mode, when will it know when it’s done cleaning the pool? I have a free form pool (sort of a kidney bean shape). It seems to clean forever. Will it run until the battery goes out or know when it’s covered the surface? Also, when doing a waterline clean it went around the pool 3x before I stopped it manually.
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 23 күн бұрын
The cleaner has different preset run-times for different modes as a plug a play. On some modes it'll run 2 hours, on others 3 hours, etc. So essentially, on any mode, it can use UP TO the entire battery, but not on certain modes Once it finishes the mode, it should autopark itself on the edge of the floor near a wall. That's how you know it's done with it's cycle. And yes, it'll make laps around the pool until the preset time is up in all modes. It never finishes early based on pool size or anything, you just let it run a full cycle. You're always free to pull it out early with the hook but once it stops it should park itself. Hope that makes sense

I cannot seem to find if the app is Wifi or Bluetooth. The bluetooth icon on the app screen in your review is confusing. Does it show battery level?
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 18 күн бұрын
The Wybot uses both Bluetooth and wifi in order to use the online app. Bluetooth must be turned on to connect from your phone to the cleaner. Once this is connected, in order to use the app it needs to connect to your wifi to be able to use the functions/options on the app. And no, unfortunately there is no battery indicator on the S2. Sorry I didn't even mention that in the video.

hi David......I am wondering if you know whether the Wybot S2 will clean when it's backing up....I have it set for standard floor and walls....it will go all the way down to the other end of the pool, go up the steps and across the tanning deck which is 15" deep.....it hit the wall, cleans the water line and back down....the it back down the steps, and backs all the way to the other end of the pool.....this pattern repeats itself until it changes direction or finds an obstacle......So the questions is: does it clean while backing up....thansk for any help......Making decision on the Wybot S2, Wybot S2 Pro and Aiper S1 Pro......
@imdefinitelydavid
@imdefinitelydavid 5 күн бұрын
Hello! Yes, the S2 does clean/suctions when backing up so moving backwards isn't a issue. It usually only backs up when on the floor but will only climb up forwards up a wall or ledge. I love the Wybot S2 and I have the Aiper S1 Pro. I am choosing to use the S2 over the S1 Pro because of how much lighter the S2 is than the Pro. However if you have a TON of ultra-fine debris, the S1 Pro has a better version of an ultra-fine filter than the S2 does. But otherwise, the S2 is my preferred cleaner at the moment. And having a self-charging station is cool for the S2 Pro version. Wybot actually offered me the S2 Pro to review but they wanted me to do some things I did not think was necessary in my video so I declined. But it worked out because I bought the S2 instead and felt better reviewing it not sponsored. The benefit of that Pro version is that you really only need to take the cleaner out to empty out the debris. Makes cleaning the pool even easier. But time will tell how the cleaner lasts being in the pool 24/7 since chlorine and salt is corrosive. That's the only thing I'd worry about for the S2 Pro.

@@imdefinitelydavid thanks David.....I have been running both,,,The Aiper s2 Pro and the Wybot S2......I have on oder the S2 Pro with docking station....I also think the filtering system of the Aiper S1 Pro is by far better, but I can get different media to change out the Wybot S2 Pro making hot better.... Also, I think the Aiper is using better material and plastics....this adds a little weight.....I like the looks of the Aiper better and it just feels more beefier......Bothe units use the same charger but the cleaner connection is just a bit different....The Wybot charger is using cheaper wire and does not have a grounding plug..... As far as cleaning, both are very good but after watching these two unit for over 48 hours of cleaning, I think the Wybot beat out the Aiper and the pattern and coverage is also better in the Wybot......I was using the "Standard Clean Mode" and noticed the unit will go one to end and go up walls and clean the water line.....very impressive....I am going to use the regular mode tomorrow and see what happens.....What surprised me the most was the Wybot ability to go up 2 steps ( each 14" wide and 12" high") and clean my 15" deep tanning deck.....The Aiper easily climbs the steps but it is too long to get vertical enough to clean water line and tile.....It shuts off and back out....sometimes it will do 2 paths but most of the time it just goes back into the waters deep end and continue it normal floor and wall cleaning.....Sorry for the long winded txt, but just wanted to share with you my experiences and let you know I am packing up the Aiper tomorrow and sending back.....I already have the return label......one last thing, amazon says the weight for the Wybot S2 is 25 lbs.....not true....I found it to be 18.7 lbs....mush lighter and easier to get out of pool.....again, thanks for your hard work and videos....It make my decision easier when I can look at something then try if out for myself......regards, OKU

Something interesting that I found out about Wybot and Aiper is that they're owned by the same company, just two different brands. Over the years, I've used both and wondered why they had similar robot features but different physical looks. Who knew? And yes, I agree with you about the filtering system on the S1 Pro, better because of the pleated filter than the foam on the S2. But it is quite impressive how well the S2 moves considering the size. Amz always lists Gross Weight on their listings for pool cleaners which includes the box and everything in the box. They rarely list the weight of just the cleaner by itself. Kind of misleading but always a surprise when it's lighter

I agree with you, the Aiper S1 Pro physically does feel more higher-end than the Wybot S2. Feels more beefy and solid. But feels much heavier than the S2. And yes, the Wybot S2 has more features with the app than the S1 Pro because before it was released they planned on releasing a Hydrocomm buoy to attach to the S1 Pro which would have added all those extra app features. But it was delayed and so far the reps are saying that it is discontinued and will no longer be released sadly. So no extra app features for the S1 Pro.
