I have the Roborock S7. Here's a tip with the Roborock S7 mop pad ... Soak the mopping pad with a cleaning detergent and water.. and squeeze the excess water from the pad before mopping . Then just fill the water tank with regular water (no detergent). And there you have it ... The mop pad is presoaked in detergent and should be good to go for the entire house cycle.! Works a treat

I have an interesting tip too. I have Roborock S5 Max for over a year now and I use cleaning detergent everytime. I put it into water tank with water heated up to 80°C and use 2x runs on every room. The cleaning works pretty good, the robot is not damaged in any way even after a whole year of using and no component had be replaced yet. The point is which detergent do you use I think. I use Sanytol which doesn't contain chlorine and other aggressive chemicals and I think that's the trick for safe usage with Roborock robot vacuum cleaners.

Had the stellar Roborock S6 but it didn't have a good mopping solution. I bought the S7 on Black Friday for $455 and bought 4 vacuum filters, 4 mop pads, and 4 brushes for $28 more. Put the S6 on the lower level and the S7 on the main floor where it is an open floor plan, that shares the kitchen hard wood floors with the living room carpet. LOVE this thing!! Cleans the hard wood floors and vacuums the carpet like a champ. Going to buy the self empty station next.

I’ve heard the “water only” is to prevent clogs of random detergents. But white vinegar won’t clog and is a key ingredient in many brand liquids. Ive found that some of the all-round-cleaning solution I put into my S3 would very rapidly gum up the little ceramic filter things that sit between the reservoir and the pad (good thing they are cheap and replacable). Havnt experimented with my S7 yet; if I do have any spots of concern I tend to just spray them manually and give them some time to soak; very effective and dont need to drag some funny smelling substance through my entire house. I like the smell of vinegar but im not sure what itd do to my tiles and grout in the long term. Its true the older style S3 mopping is kindof a joke; but I run it on my second floor now where its just bedrooms, and that works alright. Wont get any hard stains but dragging a wet cloth around will catch that fine static dust that refuses to get sucked up otherwise. On the first floor, with a front door, yard door, kitchen, and dinner table with two todlers, the S3 mopping isnt really worth bothering with. But I find the S7 a real lifesaver. Dont know what id do anymore without automatic mopping. Though on a busy day mopping once is hardly enough to get down to that 'the mopping pad would come out clean if id run it again' level. Perhaps im one of those crazy people who is on the market for adding a Narwal on top of that. Does seem like a solid machine and my first floor is continuous tile anyway.

I'm that guy that bought his GF a vacuum for her birthday. She loves the S7. I actually sold it as the anti vacuum present. As in the vac does all the work so she doesn't have to. She had a low end Roomba without controls. It just bumped into everything and got stuck. The Roborock is night and day. They just released replacement bags for the auto empty. The only cons are it doesn't tell you when the water tank is empty or when the auto empty is full. Minor issues in the big picture. Do buy extra pads. Amazon sells exact replacements from a third party much cheaper than Roborock. They must come from the same factory as they are identical. You are going to want to switch out and wash the pad after each use.

I have the Roborock and the Ecovacs and they both have their strengths and weaknesses. The Roborock does have a tiny "Sonic" portion of the mop that moves back and forth and it also will raise over the carpet but only to 4mms so if your carpet is taller, it will get wet. The Ecovacs whole pad oscillates but it's throw away pads are terrible, use the original cloth pads or T9 pads and you'll have a much better clean. Navigation, I believe is better on the Roborock having a different type of Lidar than the Ecovacs. BUT the Ecovacs has "Object Avoidance" front firing lasers which allows it to not smack your furniture, hit walls quite as hard, tangle up in cords, or run over poop like the Roborock will inevitably do. The Roborock has better suction and a newer all rubber front roller so it's a better vacuum for sure. So that's basically the pluses and minuses of the 2 vacs/mops. I must say I got the Ecovacs for less than half the price than the Roborock as they regularly go on sale and the Roborocks hardly every go on sale. I like them both. so I use them both.

I got a Roborock S6 MaxV which got such a dumb mop system you criticised. And it just mops daily and has a dirty mop each day. My floor on the other hand stays clean. S7 does not move the entire pad, only the small center section, you can clearly see it when you remove the mop cloth and look at the attachment and cloth itself. That's why you can't really see any motion from outside. Also, if S7 misidentifies a carpet, you can mark that spot as false positive and it won't identify a carpet there anymore (you can reverse it if you do get a carpet). So you can easily tell it that e.g. entire toilet etc. are no-carpet zones and you should have no problems.

That solves the problem and the result is outstanding. 🙂

Hi, A thorough review, but needs to add information that some are waiting for: You know how there's the Roomba S9+, then there's the Braava Jet M6? Many already choose to have separate moping and vacuuming. The problem with the Braava is that it cannot travel over thresholds. So if you DO have hard floors, the Braava is still useless, as it can't go from one room to another, unless the elevation change is ..less than a threshold is. In other tests, other dedicated, or semi-dedicated mops also failed to cross thresholds between hard floor rooms. I watched your video, hoping that you will test this and report how the Narval did, as I am thinking more and more that it will be the unit I want to use, in conjunction with the Roomba S9+.
@TheHookUp3 жыл бұрын
None of these vacuums had any issue with the 1/4" thresholds in my house, and the Ecovacs and Roborock were also all able to traverse a 1/2" yoga mat without issue. The Narwal did push around the yoga mat, but it may have been able to cross it if it was secured to the ground.
@MrBlueCreeper3 жыл бұрын
the M6 can't climb because it thinks thresholds are carpets, therefore, going away from it. There is a threshold mode now, which disables the carpet detection wherever you put the virtual box at.

It's pretty simple to do and you can rinse the bin with water. Now I have the auto empty station and don't do that any longer. I still check to make sure nothing has gotten caught in the filter, which happens from time to time, but it's pretty simple. As far as long hair goes, I haven't had any issues. No problems with anything getting stuck in the roller. I really do like the mopping. You should wet the mop pad before hand, otherwise it doesn't mop as well. All in all, it's more fun than vacuuming with an upright. And in the future when our elderly cats are gone, I can put it on an automated schedule.

@@Mephmt Do you utilize the bags in the outside auto dock bin?
@Mephmt3 жыл бұрын
@@shanew7361 If you mean, do I use the bag? Yes. I wasn't aware that you could use it without the bag. Sounds messy.

Hey ! Love your videos ! I see you never talked about wired home automation solutions (like KNX or Loxone) - or I missed it. I'm building a new home and would love to hear what you think about these solutions compared to wireless.

I JUST bought the HONITURE Q6 Robot for $400 yesterday. I picked it partly because it came with auto-empty bin for that $400. I ALMOST bought the S7 but didn't I have 100% Concrete flooring with an area rug and bath floor mats. I also tend to have Kitty litter on the floor. Should I get the S7 instead or go for the Narwal T10

What about the Xiaomi Roidmi EVE Plus? It has a mop and a self emptying dock. But it is good?

How are these with pet fur? We have a cat and 2 dogs that shed like crazy and kinda worried it’ll cause some sort of blockage

How often the Roborock S7+ would need to replace the filter and the mod pad? Also does the original purchase of S7+ would have the filter+ pad already? Thanks

Really tempted to get the Narwal T10, I have an Ecovacs N8+, and using NodeRed I coukd make the N8+ vacuum the floor, and when it reports a completed run, I could have the Narwal mop after it. Integration, still the key to a really smart home.

I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews on S7+ Do you have any recommendations on the Bravo m6 with the J7+ combo?
@TheHookUp3 жыл бұрын
The J7+ is maybe best in class right now for pure vacuums. The brava mop is mostly bad.

Would u still choose roborock if all your floors were tile with grout lines

maybe to get good results is to get independent device for each purpose, a just moping floor robot and a vacum robot.

How do these compare to the Roomba S9+/Braava Jet M6 combo? That Narwal one is only a little bit cheaper than the S9+/M6 combo and what I've seen of this setup has pretty much sealed the deal for me...all the automation, the "no go zones", the way they work together...they're pretty amazing. Maybe replace the M6 with one of these? Thoughts, anyone?
@balla28282 жыл бұрын
so right now you use two robots? 1 for vacuum and 1 for mopping?
@rmp5s2 жыл бұрын
@@balla2828 Yup. The J7 vacuums and the M6 mops. Gotta say, I'm REALLY impressed with the results. Really does work great. Kinda handy being able to have them both doing separate jobs at the same time, too. Can't do that with a vac/mop combo.

Hey Rob, just by looks what do your reckon is going to be the better mop, the roborock g10 or the dreame w10? They both seem to beat the ones in this video. And the wife is sooking about our 4yr old s5 roborock, so need a good upgrade. Only have hardwood floors. Cheers

Awesome review!!! Really awesome! What do you think about mopping effectiveness irobot m6 vs roborock s7?
@TheHookUp3 жыл бұрын
I've never used the M6, but I've read and watched a bunch of reviews that say it's 1) Not able to cross even the smallest of thresholds and 2) Really best for single room mopping, not whole house. Also, you have to consider that it's just a mop, not a mop and vacuum so you'd need a separate vacuum.
