Thanks so much guys for having me, I was grinning from ear to ear afterwards. I have read a few comments below, but decided its simply not worth replying to some of the hate, it was down to me, lack of prep as I had been seriously ill for 6 months, the first burnout the car had done was on the show, the launch control wasnt set up properly, again tested on the show, the tyres were way out of date, yada yad yada, lots of excuses, but, ask yourself, if you were given this once in a lifetime would you say no? Or put yourself out there? The matchups were due to the Mini I was due to race breaking a halfshaft, the Sam's Evo was meant to race a drag setup Jetta, which also broke a shaft, so hence the matchup, after Sams car ate its gearbox the guys from Spotted Motors stepped up with the Cortina, yes, I think he had over 1000bhp advantage, but I was honoured to have my doors blown off 🤣, For the haters below, would you rather watch this? They must have offset the schedule by a week because no one would ever schedule high HP vs low HP this many weeks in a row intentionally, surely they meant to alternate high and low HP week to week and not lane to lane lol

To my understanding Santa Pod is the only 1/4 mile drag strip in the entirety of the U.K. I think it's safe to say drag racing is not quite as common or popular as it is in the U.S so finding matchups for this vs that may be more challenging in the u.k.

So many comments complaining the 1978 Ford VS the EVO was not a fair fight... but on paper it doesn't seems too off. The Ford has more than half the HP of the Evo but has almost half the weight. The biggest difference was RWD VS AWD. But i feel like the reason the Ford lost this bad was because it was not capable to put the power on the ground. I'm sure if he had sticky drag tires he would have gotten a much better launch. TLDR, not Hoonigan's bad choice, the ford just could grip the launch.
