@@feudistBianca actually worked really hard to develop an accurate Jamaican accent for her role but when she got to the set they told her the accent was too strong and that viewers wouldn’t be able to understand it, and made her tone it down. She couldn’t figure out how to do that very well and so we ended up with what we got. I feel bad for her cuz she put in the work to play the role correctly then got played for a fool by the director/producers 😢

Because we start the show with Buffy arriving in Sunnydale, it’s easy to forget that, like Faith, her first watcher died. When she first met Giles, she was over being the slayer, but she couldn’t look the other way while people were dying, so she ended up going back to it. Luckily, she got Giles, who went through his own period of not wanting the life that was laid out before him, making him more sympathetic and open to giving Buffy space to be herself. If she had been sent to a different Watcher, one who could have used the death of her first Watcher to prod her into focusing on becoming a better slayer, it’s pretty easy to see how she might have become this disconnect, jaded person who sees nothing but the job ahead of her until she dies. It’s probably part of why most slayers don’t live that long. When the chips are down, and she has to dig deep for the will to keep fighting, what does she have to live for besides more of the same?

Buffy as a typical Slayer: Alone, utterly reckless, indifferent to the suffering of others and dying with a look of peace on her face...because it's over at last. Those bangs are the darkest tragedy in the series. I think the snow was a message to Angel: "You weren't brought back to be the Slayer's mopey boyfriend. Get to work." And maybe, just maybe the rarest of grace notes for The Slayer.

The Wish has always been one of my favorite Buffy episodes, it really adds a vulnerability to Cordelia to deal with Xander but that look she gives when Harmony tells her that he and Willow were dead really speaks volumes, her character development is real underneath everything and Amends is another killer of an episode regarding everyone's acting talents. It's funny because I loved Cordy already, but man her growth in Angel! I genuinely feel bad for her at this point because she finally knew what having friends felt like and despite her lack of filter, they didn't actively work against her like the "friends" she had to return to post Xander. In Buffy, the saddest Cordy moment for me was when Xander asked for the necklace back and she was still wearing it. I still think of that scene all these years later.

Buffy could see Jenny at first because of the mystical nature of Slayer dreams. Remember, they are prophetic. They show her both the past and the future. Later, in the cave, she saw Jenny/The First because it wanted her to see it, and because of her mystical shared dream with Angel, she was technically included in the haunting of Angel. Giles couldn't see her because he was not being haunted.

Cordelia is Buffy if she wasn’t the Slayer. Kendra is Buffy as intended as the Slayer. *Faith is Buffy if she didn’t have the love and support of friends and family.* Faith and Buffy are almost mirror images of one another. And this episode makes it very clear that without her friends and family, Buffy is just as cold, violent and calllus as Faith, while as committed to her calling as Kendra.

Happy "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" Friday night with Cody & Sergio! 😊 Great reaction you two! Episode 3x09: The next season 3 introduction of another one of my favorite characters: Anya. Love seeing Willow and Xander as vampires in this episode. That last sequence, before the wish was reversed, was great yet terrifying. Even though it was in an alternate reality, it was crazy seeing Xander, Willow, Buffy, and Angel meeting that fate. Good seeing the Master again. Such a great episode! Episode 3x10: One of my all-time favorite Christmas episodes. David Boreanaz does a great job in this one. Enjoyed seeing Miss Calendar again. And loved seeing Willow and Oz working to get their relationship back on track. And that movement with Angel and Buffy on the hilltop and then walking in the snow is one of of my all-time favorite moments from this show. No spoilers, but just remember what you learn about the "First Evil". Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

How I always interpreted the snowstorm at the ending of 310 was the good side (God, powers that be, etc) that fight against evil preventing Angel from offing himself (he was waiting for sunrise to let it do its thing, the snowstorm prevented it) after the First (evil) convinced him that they brought him back to get rid of Buffy. Angel was brought back to do more good and to allow Buffy to do more good, he was not brought back by Evil but by Good. PS. I have enjoyed watching you guys watch this series.

I think Sunnydale is so inundated with Vampires and demonic activity because of the Hellmouth. And Sunnydale is the globe’s most active vampire hotspot. The sayer was created to fight vampires, so it makes sense she’d be sent there. It’s quite likely that everywhere else is relatively vampire free. We know the Hellmouth in Sunnydale/California is a lot more active than the one in Cleveland.

You are a great couple and thank you for the entertainment you bring each week. These are 2 important episodes for many reasons. The importance and lessons are some that you will think about over your journey in the Buffyverse. I suggest that you ponder the elements of Amends. Season 2 had many important moments for Buffy and the understanding of morality, values, ethics, love, and forgiveness. Amends is a version of I Only Have Eyes For You. Buffy can only forgive Angel and understand the pain because of her experience has a killer in I Only…..etc. Angel only knows pain, self hate, and has no inner strength based on ethics, love, compassion for others , and forgiveness. The scene with them on the hill is the most crucial for Angel in his existence. What Buffy does for Angel is how he can triumph. It’s the start of Angels journey to understand what he has not for over 209 years Now why has the First Evil sent Angel back to kill Buffy? You answered when you said it was good placement for Thw Wish. We saw Buffy without the Scoobys, Giles, or even Cordelia. She was a Slayer like a mix of Kendra and the Faith. She died because she had no connection to the world to save her. Slayers have come and gone but Buffy is different. She has survived many times when other Slayers would have died because of her differences and connections. She is a force that is obviously different. This has alarmed the First Evil that uses the whispered word to subvert and destroy ( the serpent in the garden) The plan is to bring in a person the Slayer will trust to kill her. If that Plan fails then have Angel kill himself. The suicide of Angel would emotionally destroy Buffy( not forever but long enough) and thus make her weakened and able to be killed. The plan is working and will achieve one of the goals( and also get Angel back in hell) but Buffy steps in to defeat the First Evils plan, start the process of Amends and forgiveness for Angel, and have a major step accomplished for Buffy in her quest. This is an episode to store in your memory and refer to when Buffy and Angel deal with more than slaying a demon. Keep up with your great reactions

The Wish is always a fan favourite. A great concept here with the alternative reality. We get introduced to Anya The Vengeance Demon, the moral of the episode is be careful what you wish for. Cordelia being Cordelia opens up the alternative dimension, some great comedy one liners here too, and of course foreshadowing again for the future. Cordelia's vacuous airhead friends are so cruel to her and others. Giles saves the day confronting Anya and restores things back to normal. Again we see S3 being so innovative with much better writing and storylines. It just gets better and better.

3x09 Xander's on the phone trying to apologize to Cordelia while saying to Buffy and Willow that he and Willow didn't do anything wrong. Cordelia deserves better. And while Willow feels guilty, Oz is definitly correct. It isn't his problem that she just wants to feel less guilty about what she's done. 3x10 If I were Oz, it would have taken me more time for forgiveness towards Willow. Personally, I don't think I would have. I'm on Cordelia's side of things (in regards to the get away from me comment), but Oz is better than most people, including me. He's a fan favorite for a reason.

Amends was one of the best episodes of S3, and for me personally a top ten from the whole show. We are introduced to The First Evil tormenting Angel through his past victims. The concept of The First is that it gave the writers a way of reintroducing old characters to add to the richness of the show, as The First can channel its evil through dead people attacking the mind of the living. The ending scene with Buffy and Angel is brilliantly acted when Buffy is trying to save Angel from daylight, SMG and David Boreanaz absolutely knock it out of the park here, and The Hallmark movie ending even though schmaltzy, just works so well with the storyline. Comic relief with Willow using Barry White to seduce Oz is funny but sweet and innocent too. Again the acting from SMG and DG at the end was superb. Another great episode keeping up the brilliant quality of S3. This is actually a very important episode. You can see guys that you really get the show, and appreciate the writing. S3 is just banger after banger, the quality of the episodes in S3 is amazing.

Eliza Dushku was still a minor when this was filmed, however, she was emancipated since she was 14 so those work rules were really not an issue for her. She got emancipated explicitly so she could get around minor work requirements for the movie True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

speaking of willow and the pilot you should see the unaired pilot, it has a different actress for willow. its here on youtube last i saw. the actress was ok, but the way she said her lines was different from allison hannigan who says them with a self depreciating way with a little cheer. the other actress was more depressionish. shows how just a slight different reading of the same lines can make a HUGE difference.

Maybe you guys are expecting David to sound like Lucky Charms or something lol But I actually ived in Ireland for a little bit and he has a great accent. Not all of them sound the same some have an understated accent and thats what David sounds like to me.

Making The Wish both more and less depressing: More depressing: it's implied by the way they barely react to Nancy's death that there used to be a lot more White Hats. They're totally desensitized to their friends dying. Was Jenny one? Did Giles lose her in this reality too? Less depressing: Darla and Luke are nowhere to be seen, implying that they at least got a few good punches in.

I've wondered about Jenny in this timeline. Since Angel is here, it makes sense to assume that Janna was still sent to watch him - I always assumed she and Giles arrived in Sunnydale around the same time. That would also add some serious ouch factor to the way he trails off while saying he never told anyone here he was a Watcher. Because if Jenny was there and they were together, she would have known.

Awesome reactions as usual, boys! I adore you both. The Wish is an amazing episode and one of my all time favorites (although I have many favorites in this season! 😂). Enter Anyanka! I love ANYA so much and Vamp Willow is so much fun and very evil and unhinged, and I love it! I also love her! And she's kinda gay! 🏳️‍🌈 Poor Cordelia. She just wanted a little revenge and not feel sad anymore. Magic for personal gain is always bad. Even in the Buffyverse. 😅 Amends is also very good because we get to meet the First and see some more of Angel/Angelus backstory. 🤐 And ooh snow! In Sunnydale, a very Californian town. It's a Christmas miracle. 🎄 Edit! I didn't know that it could snow in parts of California. My bad! 😆

Unfortunately, those bangs were a thing in the 90's. I remember, in my class, there was a student from South Korea who went to a hairdresser and got bangs, not knowing what they were. It was quite humorous.

The bangs aren't awesome, but they're not the worst thing ever. They aren't as bad as Gale Weathers bangs. And they really do change the shape of Sarah's face, it's interesting. Actually, they make her look like Rosanna Arquette in "Pulp Fiction".

Let’s be real, Wishverse Willow and Xander are so hot. Sure they’re evil, but yummy. And it’s a key part of Xander’s character that not a lot of people pick up on, that his family is so full of angry alcoholics that he has to sleep outside on Christmas Eve to avoid fights. Kind of makes his going straight for the jugular in a verbal fight make more sense, knowing what his family must be like. Even siding with Joyce about ‘she cares about you, and you just ran away’ in 3x2 makes more sense when you know he’s from an abusive family.
