The Hound + The Fox I’ve never heard of you guys, but I do love Home Free. I try to copy Tim’s low notes (I’ve nearly gotten some, such as in Man OG Constant Sorrow), but his voice is amazing. I loved this song even though I’m not really Christian. And if more of these come across my recommenced list, I’ll give y’all another listen and perhaps, a subscription. Best of luck to you all and Merry Christmas 2019!

@@caerlaverockjaguar3826 Hound & Fox are an awesome Singing Duo, but also 2/3 of FifGen Films w/Jimmy Bates, who filmed many Home Free awesome music vids (also friends Ptx, Peter Hollens, Lindsay Stirling, etc), ..They're also in some of HF vids> espec. are the feat. couple in HF's "Thinking Out Loud" videos..😊💜

Annemay Seyfried I think Hound + Fox should branch into country a bit. I think they’d sound pretty good covering some Conway Twittt/Loretta Lynn songs, and get together with Home Free to do Daddy Sang Bass. I know VoicePlay did a cover of it, but I think HF and H+F would do a better job and keeping it relatively traditional while still making it a cappella.

I doubt you look at the comments here anymore, but just wanted to let you know that you brought an elderly woman to tears with this song. She's at the nursing home I work at and was feeling lonely and depressed. Her room is decorated for Christmas but she was feeling rather down. I sat with her for a few minutes and played some Christmas music for her, this being one of the songs/videos. She watched raptly, singing along, crying gently. She told me she loves music, and GOOD music, and this was better than anything she was hearing on TV. You helped satisfy a real need/hunger in her soul. Thank you.

The Lyrics: We three kings of Orient are Bearing gifts, we traverse afar Field and fountain, moor and mountain Following yonder star. Born a King on Bethlehem's plain Gold I bring to crown Him again King forever, ceasing never Over us all to reign. Chorus: Ohhh Star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect Light. Frankincense to offer have I Incense owns a Deity nigh Prayer and praising, voices raising Worshiping God on high. Myrrh is mine, it's bitter perfume Breathes life of gathering gloom Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying Sealed in a stone-cold tomb. (Chorus) The perfect light Glorious now behold Him arise King and God and Sacrifice Alleluia alleluia! sounds through the earth and skies Sounds through the earth and skies.
@SimNomvre6 жыл бұрын
@Jean Blythe Thank you for posting the lirycs, as it makes easier to sing along to the song. I must say, though, that you got an error in the chorus, as they say "thy", which is an ancient form of "yours". "Guide us to thy perfect light" And while I'm not completely sure, I believe that in the fourth verse she says "Breathe alive of gathering gloom"...

I think that was the point. When she sang it she made death sound "sweet" because this song is about Christmas and birth rather than death and if we follow the biblical story we do know that Christ will revive so it is possible that the base entered the worshipping part instead of the death part to show that death must not always be "heavy" if that makes sense. It is a sad fact (and thus her voice is sad even if melodic) but is not the absolute darkness according to Christian faith and so that is how I see the choice of Tim singing the incense verse rather than the myrrh one. Plus because he is the "guest" he is also placed in-between the two if that makes sense. That is how I perceived it. But I surely know what you mean! 😉😜
