UPDATE APRIL 2nd 2020 - Hey guys just wanted to give an update now that this video is a few years old: ○ First of all, this video is still working great in 2020 (hence why I updated the title). ○ Once you install the Bluetooth drivers, your Bluetooth adapter will be "locked" to just you PS3 controller. You will NOT be able to use anything but the PS3 controller, over Bluetooth, until the Bluetooth drivers are uninstalled. This is why you won't see the Bluetooth icon in your tray, and Windows will say you don't have a Bluetooth adapter. ○ If you are having any general issues, such as your controller not connecting after install (4 blinking lights), use the scp clean wipe tool to uninstall the drivers. It can be found by searching for it in the start menu. Run the the tool then restart your PC then reinstall the drivers. This fixes 95% of errors. ○ If your keyboard / mouse no longer works after install, this is a common bug where your keyboard and mouse drivers were replaced rather than your controller's, get another mouse then run the SCP clean wipe tool as mentioned above. ○ If your controller doesn't work after you shutdown or restart your computer refer to this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp7Xg6mmp851pNE ○ The link to my discord server is here if your still need help: discord.gg/3s6gdtx

8 months later, I then realised that the SCP tool will install a very specific bluetooth driver for the PS controllers. In result, Windows will not be able to use bluetooth for other stuff, like keyboard/mouse and headset. Please be aware.

Suggestion: If you use a dongle, when you finish all the stuff and open the scpmonitor , probably you will se host isnt connected, "to fix that you need to unplug the dongle and plug it again". Then you ll see the host works fine. After that disconnect your ps3 controller. And sorry for my bad english i hope it helps you.

Never knew there was a full install program for this. I had been using slightly different version of SCP for awhile where you had to manually add the program folder and such but this is way more straight forward.

2022 and still working perfectly bro. I encountered a problem when I was installing SCP Toolkit ( that some prerequisites cannot be downloaded because it was the wrong size) but luckily I was able to find a KZbin video which helped me to install them and it finally works perfectly.

[Third Party Controller Works] Basically when you download SCP it will tell you that your PC "lacks prerequisites" to run it. If you simply click "next" nothing will happen. You need to check that tiny box so it will download those "prerequisites" for you. Once you do that the SCP Toolkit will run and you will see what he sees. Besides that great tutorial dude!

Hey so I have the same problem, here is what I have found, when you choose the Bluetooth dongle it lists the VID and PID numbers next to it. It turns out that the github page says which dongles it supports based on those two numbers, but the page hasn't been updated since 2016 so my newer PC's bluetooth isn't listed. You can check if yours is listed: github.com/nefarius/ScpToolkit/wiki/Compatible-Bluetooth-Devices Furthermore after I choose my Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) (VID: 8087, PID: 0029) motherboard bluetooth devide (which doesn't work for this tutorial) my regular bluetooth stopped working. I had to use the same tool and uninstall the driver to get my bluetooth back. So I think that it converts the dongle into a dedicated PS3 wireless dongle. I am gonna try to buy a dongle and see if I can get mine to work.

So I got the dongle and still no luck. Also an interesting note, even though I had bluetooth through the motherboard and with the dongle, when I downloaded the dongle driver bluetooth just disappeared from the windows device manager. It sounds like the Windows 10 Creators update broke compatibility and the author of the software has been inactive for years. I am not sure if it would work with a PS4 controller, I might try that if I can borrow one soon.

The SCP drivers does in fact hijack your Bluetooth dongle, but if you properly uninstall the drivers or reinstall Windows you will be able to use your Bluetooth dongle again.

This is completely independent of the ps3. So the controller will still work on the ps3 you just need to pair it again with the console.

Hey, it worked thanks but when i shutdown my laptop and start it the next day my controller can't connect with the Bluetooth i can use it only with the wire unless i uninstall it and then reinstall it is there any solution to use it wireless after shutting down the laptop? I'm on windows 11 btw and thanks again

@@nemesis5289 you uninstall it from scp tool and then install it again it takes up to five minutes the whole operation
