Great info man. Thank you for taking the time to put this together for new competitors. Really helpful. Went to watch a match this weekend. My dad and I were able to spectate and help setup a couple of the stages since we got there early. As usual the gun community is very welcoming along with USPSA. Shooters competing were actually bummed we weren’t shooting but I couldn’t due to holster not arriving in time for match, and dad still on the fence about it at the time. I think he’s got the itch to try it out. I’ll be practicing these drills you showed when the holster shows up and mag reloads until it does. Take care.

Awesome man - glad to hear it. Another tip I can give you is to watch my most recent video on grip. If you watch that video on grip and then couple it with practice you'll be in a real strong start to tackling practical shooting. Glad to hear you're wading in, enjoy the ride!

I like your videos very concise not a lot of stuff we don’t need just good quality information. I’m older and have been around firearms since a very young boy but only got into competitive shooting last year started with uspsa and I can say I wish I’d started sooner it’s a great time still looking for steel challenge shoot but uspsa is a blast don’t move as quick as I used to but still having fun. And I do learn something just about ever stage just by watching the more experienced shooters. Keep the videos coming and shoot safe.

+shdwsnpr cheers, I made these to show my buddies i am trying to get to shoot. Being an SO in IDPA I would see some legitimately bad techniques rationalized by dudes who were stagnant as shooters

When doing a lot of dry firing in both DA and SA with my P-01, do snapcaps make a difference as far as wear and tear goes?
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely - if you use snap caps the firing pin will rebound off the silicone pad on the snap cap until it wears out and develops a hole. At that point - the firing pin will rebound off the roll pin that secures it in the channel. At that point you're working your way slowly to a shattered roll pin and a seized up firing pin. Another good trick is to get an O-Ring (#83 if I recall) from a big box home improvement store and put it in the area where the hammer falls to hit the firing pin. This deadens the blow the firing pin takes so the roll pin doesn't get worn out.

Good videos. Been shooting USPSA and IDPA for a while now and wish I had seen these first. Good info, clear and concise. Very practical. Thanks alot! And how is that Ghost belt/holster rig holding up? I got the same one and have ran it through 4 or 5 matches. Great so far.
@TheHumbleMarksman6 жыл бұрын
The belt is going strong - nearly 2 years now. The holster - not great. It developed a crack on the sight channel- they replaced it for me. They advertise it as a Shadow 2 holster - it’s not. Not even close.

Mag pouches I ended up switching to DAA
@nicholi27896 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Yeah I can see where it's starting to wear a groove around the front sight post from repeated drawing and hostering. Hopefully mine doesn't crack. Good to know they'll replace it if it does. Either way, I still feel like this setup isn't too bad to get started with for the price.

what magazine holder you are using sir?
@magdumpmoravec35574 жыл бұрын
Why do you put the mag in your pocket vs back in the holster when showing clear?
@TheHumbleMarksman4 жыл бұрын
so I don't think there are bullets in the magazine and forget to reload it.

@@TheHumbleMarksman ah yea that makes sense. I didn't know if that was like a rule or something. Im gonna do some uspsa next year(I'm in Wisconsin so they don't do outdoor here til spring) I typically run dots on my pistols but in order to do those I would have to go into the tricked out class with guys that have way more upgrades than me right?
