Awesome review as always. I think for duty, the rcr is the choice over all other enclosed optics. But if you are looking at non enclosed, the RMR HD has too much competition from sig/holosun/vortex/eotech etc
@mooktemas6800Ай бұрын
I am a fan of enclosed optics. I own the RCR and RmR-HD; however, I prefer the RmR-HD because of its functionality. It’s the best out there in my opinion.

i really love the round hood design of the SRO, it's a big window but seems to conceal easier as there's no long corners to catch my shirt
@ericbergfield6451Ай бұрын
I put the RCR on my Echelon, & although I'm glad to have it, I wouldn't get a second one for any of my firearms. The thick hood (where the battery goes), is my biggest problem with it, because when I put a suppressor on my Echelon (which is always), the bottom portion of the window loses additional vision due to there being a suppressor out the front of the firearm. Overall, it's fine, but I would recommend against using it on a suppressed weapon system

Appreciate the comparison i actually wanted this answered and figure the HD was the best bet for me. It does seem hard to conceal but i guess ill figure that out after gathering the money to buy it! Lol
@milspecmike8440Ай бұрын
I chose the RCR over the HD despite it being for a carry pistol for 2 reasons, the dust/lint buildup on the back glass is wiped off easily and I’ve had water build up on my open optic emitter during a horribly rainy 3 gun match, rendering it useless for the first shot on each stage. Once that pistol is out from under your garment, if it’s raining, that possibly exists and it sucks when it happens. Not running out to replace all my open emitters but between a slightly larger window and the enclosed, enclosed was definitely the way to go. Love the optic too, never understood why Trijicon fetched higher prices until I owned one. Dot is a mini sun if turned all the way up, the only one I own that I’ll shoot on a sunny day at less than full brightness. I also find the circle reticles to be just a gimmick on MRDS’, shooting into the sun, they get completely washed out and bloom the entire window. For a pistol, I’m sticking with the simple dot, different for rifles with larger optics, those circle dots have usefulness and aren’t affected by shooting into the sun like the smaller ones.

The Holosun 507c has the ability to change the brightness of the ring or to choose different dots by a press of the brightness button.
@PnP-td1mtАй бұрын
He and most in here know that. The RMR HD and RCR do this also and have superior glass plus a superior reticle to the 507c.. I run a 507c on an angle with the circle dot reticle on my 3 gun rifle.

Thanks for the video. Interesting you were ok with the circle reticle; I have an eps mrs and the 507comp and don't like the bigger options. I did keep the ring only reticle on the eps mrs as it's on a tiny canik mc9 and probably switching it to dot only soon.

Not a trij, but have you tried the scs 320? No batteries to worry about, and the auto brightness actually works. Been my carry optic for the last year and i dont think i can go back. Only complaint is not being able to cycle through the brightness settings manually. But the auto works extremely well so eh.

I’ve had my SRO’s go down for some reason. Pain to send them in and lose it for a month. I’ve switched to the Vortex Defender XL and it’s good. I hope they make it in a smaller dot, the 5moa is a little big at distance for me but it’s a super clear dot.

Trijicon rocks. I've tested and evaluated several different makes and models of pistol dots for my prior employer and myself personally. The only makes that I ever recommended were Trijicon and Steiner. My colleagues also. Every other make (V*****, M*********, B*****, H******, S** S****) that I (we) tested failed in one way or another. Not that the others are necessarily junk, just that no matter what the conditions are, that dot has to be ready every time. Features rich and low price point are nice, but spending a little more on good tools is a proper investment.

Well, I think I figured out the hat...a meta Dad Joke? As for Trijicon, made in USA is good, and I guess ruggedness is too, but I'm still annoyed with them monopolizing the footprint market for several years with a silly wide footprint. Anything with a slim slide (say 1.1" or less) should just go RMS and be done with it.
