As an owner of 3 of the SFx guns....if you're shooting reduced power ammo thru it, Canik will send you a reduced power recoil spring for free to put an end to the stovepipes. As for accuracy, I'd say you need to try some different ammo. I've shot 3-shot-groups at 25 yards thru one ragged hole. If you shoot 124 grain or above, you will have hardly any issues with the CANIK as they are designed for NATO rounds. I have a Canik and a Glock, I had to spend almost $700 to make my glock shoot almost as good as my Canik which I bought for significantly less and run stock. Just saying.
@warrenrosen23263 жыл бұрын

I also have both guns I paid $700 for the Gen5 G34 and (like Robert) spent $700 making it the way I wanted. I paid $650 for the Canik (with a red dot) and kept it completely stock. They shoot almost the same. The G34 has slightly less recoil and better mags I found that if I leave the SFX mags sit around fully loaded the springs get weak. So I store them empty. I think SFK is a better looking gun. I love the G34, but knowing what I know now, If I had to do it over, I would save the $1400 and been happy with the Canik.... My carry gun? A customized G42

Or, I would have gone for one of Ed Brown's amazing, custom 1911s. Not only is the craftsmanship superior, but, the guns perform far better and they look like pieces of art. great video, one disagreement. the heat issue on the front of the pistol. like in electronics if the heat sink isn't heating up then that's a design flaw and a inferior heat sink. the slits in the metal I would assume pull heat off the barrel as well. causing the slide to heat up, that being said I would assume the Glocks barrel is actually getting a bit hotter than the Canik, because of this. curious what ammo you had a hard time feeding? i know that can very from pistol to pistol as i have 2 sd40s and one will strove pipe every 50 or so rounds and the other cycles perfect. i just got the Canik and i have ran 500 rounds through it and not one feed issue. all different brands (because I have to go to so many stores to get ammo lol.) thanks for the video.

I was never a fan of the glock grip angle or the trigger, but they are a good gun.. I still do kind of want a g34 though. That said, I've got an sf elite and two sfx (iron and optic) and they've all been fantastic in the reliability department. I've shot nothing but run of the mill 115gr ammo from day one and can rapid fire them at distance and still get good groups. Never had any cycling issues or anything of that sort. I've got other much more expensive stuff like cz tso, q5 match, atlas 2011 and my cheap caniks hold their own. Total underdogs, but damn they are fun

I had a TP9SFX and ended up selling it. It was the most accurate pistol I've ever shot. But, i had an issue early on with the slide stop. The spring for it was weak, and allowed the slide stop to jump up and lock the slide while shooting. I bent the spring down to increase tension, and didn't have any further problems, but that was always on my mind and could never trust it with my life. I ended up building my own version of the G34 MOS, and have been 100% happy. I also picked up a TP9 Mete SFX and am very happy with it.

this year there has been a precipitous drop in irons shooters. Limited used to be the biggest division - and it probably still will be very meaningful - but at majors this year it's been generally smaller than Carry Optics and Open.

The Glock has nothing it doesn't need. Even the front serrations on gen 5 are questionable. This is what leads to its clean, sexy look. Don't let others convince you it's ugly just because they refuse to get one only because they hate the younger glock crowd's ferocity to defend the Glock. People are drawn to Glock for obvious reasons, and some reasons not so much. Some people feel the need to get a glock and they don't know why. I got mine because I realized after getting my HK p30 that both hands are supposed to grip the grip, not just one or the other. Glock's grips are superb for two hands. If the grip feels like a block, then hold it with two hands and that goes away.

@@5jjt I've owned many guns to include glocks. In today's market they are definitely on the slow boat. Things that are not great; initial price, ergonomics, stippling, trigger, plastic sights, grip angle, grips are only for medium-large hands and terrible customer service/warranty if you ever have to have one repaired. There are so many guns that are every bit as reliable (I'd argue more durable/reliable in the larger more powerful calibers and certain models). 30 years ago glock was the next best thing. Today they just dont stack up. If you dont believe me, then believe the thousands of competition shooters in USPSA and IDPA in production classes that have switched in recent years. Production classes now see less than 10% for glocks and 80% for CZ and Tangfolios while canik and walthers becoming more and more popular and will soon outpace the glocks (if they haven't already). Its pretty obvious they are just outclassed. Glocks generally are built as bare bones service pistols for LE. They have one of the lowest production costs in the industry which allow them to lowball everyone on contracts. Their business model is not to provide you with the latest and greatest, rather make money on their contracts. I don't hate them.....but I understand what they are and what they are not.

I just did an all day pistol training on Sunday. 700ish rounds of Winchester 115,147 federal 115 ball, and Tula horsemeat115. Trying to making it break on me. So I could practice clearing Jams and such throughout the day. Except it didn’t on anything. Made hits beyond 25m, grouped well all day, it did get hot when we did a speed shooting where I mag dumped 4 20round mags back to back. But for the most part Gun was flawless all day. Not so much for a bunch of Glocks of various shapes and size, CZ and FN’s that had +|- 10 jams throughout the day. I’m purposely trying to break it, to make it fail. And it hasn’t. My round count is still below 2000 so it’s not a lot. But I do at this point trust my life with my tp9sfx as a home defense pistol over my G17.

I took my SFX to range today for the first time and I had no issues with accuracy or reliability. Admittedly I only put 400 rounds through it but your gun had seen multiple failures by that point. I honestly wonder if you have a barrel that the chamber is out of spec. It could explain both of your issues. Also, great video and fair points!

I have both firearms in this video. My glock 34 gen 5 was $780 after taxes and my Tp9sfx was $565 after taxes. The Glock sights are crap and plastic, the glock’s trigger was average at best. Where as the Canik sights were great and it’s trigger was superior to every factory trigger that I’ve ever felt. You’d need to spend at least another 2-300 bucks to compete trigger and sight wise, not to mention zeroing in an optic is much easier on the Canik. Canik’s are better by way of being cheaper to a superior handgun but if money isn’t an issue I’d go with a Glock. It’s more customizable and After spending about $1300 on it, you would have a far longer lasting and superior handgun. Fresh out the box it’s the Canik for me

@TheHumbleMarksman4 жыл бұрын
yeah mine was a lemon.
@adamdeblois5083 жыл бұрын
The failure to eject problem with the canik is actually fairly common and easily fixed by a phone call and two day wait. The stock recoil spring is specifically made for 124g +p nato rounds. Weaker rounds don’t provide enough force to fully cycle the slide and eject the round. A simple google search should have provided you with this information, but I guess not haha. The fix? Call canik and ask for.a reduced power recoil spring and they will 2-day ship you one under their warranty. As for the accuracy issue, I have no explanation. My tp9sfx was extremely accurate at25 yards even without a rest. Yeah, I had to rack it every shot because it stovepiped but it was right on point. I’m not a gun expert, and don’t claim to be, but I would take my sfx over your glock any say
