Amusing that the LTT is so good that a duty gun can be compared to a dedicated competition gun within a competition context. Something to be said for a duty pistol that can double as a topnotch competition gun. Also, the match hammer option for the LTT trigger job eliminates most of that SA take-up. Good job bringing out the Mantis to measure recoil rather than relying only on feelings like most reviewers. Again, amusing that the significantly lighter gun with the higher bore axis is nonetheless so well-designed that it has objectively less muzzle flip. LTT really has single-handedly breathed new life into the platform. Thanks for the video!

M9A3 ($750), LTT trigger job in a bag ($160), LTT RDO cut ($350). =$1260 for amazing with a threaded barrel. Mec-Gar flush18rd($18), 20rd($25), factory 30rd($28). Very Hard to beat that. All current prices.

Also I'm pretty sure its not an m9a3..... But a custom franken gun that langdon speced out from beretta . The grips and I believe a few frame mods are only available on the ltt guns...if im not mistaken .... So even though you might have a decent rig with what you described....it won't be an ltt unfortunately ....

The crown jewel of my gun collection is my LTT 92 Elite with NP3 Trigger job. Some folks like my Italian made M9A3 better, but you cannot beat the NP3 finish for a smooth DA pull, and the shortest of possible resets on the SA. I have a few CZ's, and they're fun. But there's just something about a Beretta.

If my memory serves me correct, my agency had the Beretta 92 and the flared slide in the front is designed specifically to allow you to “pinch” tue slide there thus functioning tue slide. The slide serrations are technically not even necessary. I was told the same thing at the armors school I was sent to. However we were told NOT to do this, rather operate the slide from the rear serrations. They didn’t want troopers to shoot their fingers I guess?

This is the video I’ve been waiting for. A big thank you for the work that you clearly put into this (as with all your vids) comparison. It was always an assumption of mine that I’d be buying the Shadow 2 OR when it came out. Now, the Beretta is winking at me pretty hard. Like you said - either is a great choice.
@TheHumbleMarksman
@TheHumbleMarksman 4 жыл бұрын
Hope it helps! If you want to do less maintenance - then the Beretta seems to be the way to go - if you can't stand your hand being at the edge of the grip then maybe the CZ is the way to go. The bore axis on the CZ is lower - but due to action and where the mass is on the slide - the Beretta shoots softer.

Great review between two great guns!!! Unless I missed it, when it comes to reliability, the 92 has been in battle and in the 80's and 90's it was on the hip of major LE organizations around the us. You mentioned that you find that writing "Stín dva" on the slide lame, I actually find it kinda cool and playful. CZ is pistol from Czech Republic and "Stín dva" is the "Shadow 2" translated into Czech language (the number written in words of course). It's a nice small production touch making your Czech pistol even more Czech than you can get it in it's country of origin :)

@@TheHumbleMarksman Yeah it's pretty cool. I've always wanted a Gen 1. Surprisingly I kinda like the pebble grip: I feel like my hand can slide up into the tang real well on the draw. It accepted my Ghost Edge Connector but my L2D striker pin doesn't work in it for some reason, so it's mostly stock. It's a decent stock Glock trigger though so I'm cool with it. I'm really glad I could find one.

I sold all my da/sa guns. If I am to buy another again it will be the 92 rdo worked over from LTT, without a doubt. I liked my cz hammer fire offerings but I never loved it. I wanted to but I couldn't get there. I hated how everyone of them I needed a trigger job to even enjoy the DA pull. My Sphinx sdp stacked and I really hated that one. I even had the cz sp01 shadow because I hated the back hump on the grip of the s2. It was the last one to have finally gone though. While it was a great, I felt I had to convince myself I loved it because of the additional parts/money I added to it. This 92 has been something I've been eyeing for a couple months. From everything I've seen, read and watched about the LTT 92 rdo, its everything I wanted to love with my cz but didn't. Am I crazy? I guess im just a striker fire guy. Most of the ones I own don't need any work, Beretta apx rdo, Canik tp9sf elite combat executive, cz p10c, aside from just a shoe only change on the m&p shield. Going into the video i had a feeling since I saw your other videos on your LTT 92 that it was your preference and going to be what had the nod. Did not disappoint

Could you tell me wich would you choose, the beretta M9 A1 or the 92 A1, I like that platform and the classic design, but I think nowdays it should have a rail. The only thing I don't like about the 92 A1 is that its rail from the side appears to be descending from the triggerguard onwards, for me it afects the design.

Just wanted to mention that the trigger return spring on the Beretta is also a known breakage point, and should generally be swapped out every 10000 rounds or so (I've seen some people recommend even lower). I'm a huge 92 fanboy, but I wouldn't consider it to be more reliable/durable than the 75 platform. Both have quirks regarding certain parts, and the 92 mags specifically really don't like any dirt, sand, grit etc. Finding their way inside.

If your focus is gaming, idt it matters which one you go with they have both won national championships. But if you like to match carry guns to comp guns, its hard to beat the bereta. Love my Shadow 2. There are a few mods I'd like to make, but I'm fairly new to the firearm space. Takes quite a bit of research. Pulling back the slide on the 92 is deeply satisfying for some reason. I would have picked that one up as well, but being ~800 more than the S2, I couldn't justify it. I do appreciate the Final Fantasy music as a gamer as well though haha

@TheHumbleMarksman
@TheHumbleMarksman 3 жыл бұрын
Out of the box? The LTT RDO is probably "best" - good grips, killer trigger, good mount. Difficult to reload and slide manipulate. Some people cannot abide berettas though. The Shadow 2 OR has an "ok" trigger before work, the grips are slick, no optics ready plate included. You fix all that stuff it's a fire breather. The new Sig P320MAX should be pretty squared away out of the box - including a decent optic.

Could you comment on two differences between the Greaser culture and the Hipster Culture?

2 things I don't know a whole lot about. I think the difference is that greasers had an edgy nearly dangerous persona while everyone universally recognizes hipsters as whimps.

I have had more problems with the 92 LTT than the Shadow 2. I also love how low the SRO sits on the Shadow 2, it co witnesses stock irons. The LTT had to be redesigned to accept an optic, and it sits so damn high over the wrist like you said. Reminds me of a sig.

LTT all the way. Ernie Langdon knows the beretta better than anyone and his parts and gunsmithing of the gun take it to another level.

very strange conclusion that a Beretta 92 variant is actually the new age hipster offering now. in the competition world the shadows are boringly common at this point.

I have a question I'd like to ask since you have some time with the Beretta, how much of a difference does slide weight matter(felt recoil, muzzle rise/dip,etc)?Say moving from a Glock 19, 17, 34 to the CZ or Beretta? Which do you perfer and why?
@TheHumbleMarksman
@TheHumbleMarksman 4 жыл бұрын
The beretta is the softest shooter of the lot - the glock has less muzzle climb than either. I prefer the blockier grips on the Beretta and the CZ - though the difference isn't severe. They're not wildly different with a good grip.
@johnherian781

Shooter's need to understand that bio mechanics play a huge role in recoil management.From the bottom off your feet to the top of your head. The 92,glock 34 and the CZ all have different design characteristics to mediate recoil.No one gun fits all. Tactical Performance Center has great videos on the science of shooting.Every top shooter incorporates bio mechanics.
@joeyassyrian
@joeyassyrian 4 жыл бұрын
@@johnherian781 This is completely true, problem is, people define recoil as a calculated value based on the bullet used and the weight of the pistol. What they don't take into account which are huge factors in recoil are, like you said, bio mechanics, how much contact does your hands make with the surface area of the pistol, how does the pistol sit relative to your arms/wrists (bore axis), how does the mechanics of the pistol bleed off energy, how does the pistol transfer energy to the end user. On a calculated basis the shadow 2 has the least amount of recoil but I've found the action to be so violent and non-linear that the Beretta and Glocks shoot much softer for me than any other gun I've tried.

@@ryant5652 I haven’t broken my slide stop on my CZ yet and I’m at 10k+ rounds. Some of which was a good part of 124gr nato and some +p defensive ammo. Mine is a sp-01 tactical suppressor ready model so they came with super heavy recoil springs so that might have helped it survive longer.
