I visited Bandung in 2013 but first traveled from Jakarta to Cianjur where I stayed for a week and then onto Bandung by bus where I stayed at the old Politeknik Bandung for a few days. I got free accommodation and in turn I had to give a talk at the new campus. I decided to give a talk on my heritage connection to Indonesia and how we evolved as a society in South Africa where my ancestors were brought to as slaves and prisoners because we resisted Dutch occupation some 350 years ago. Indonesians are gentle and tolerant people that are vey welcoming. I am retired now but still travel and enjoy backpacking and have my sights set on Lombok and possibly Kalimantan in the future insha-Allah.

i suggest you guys to try Indonesian regular train which runs slower than Whoosh, but you will have an unforgettable experience because the hospitality from the crew. I will recommend you KA Taksaka (Jakarta-Jogja). Jogja is one of the famous tourist city in the Java island, so don’t miss it👍🏻

The station is in padalarang which is the neighboring city of bandung. Theres a free feeder.train integrated inside the station to bandung so you dont need to get out the station. Save a lot of time and cash of the journey from padalarang to bandung

Wow Whoosh is so nice and this is my number one priority to visit Indonesia 😊😊 I’m from the Philippines while some foreign bloggers praised Indonesian trains, sadly in the Philippines, the Philippine National Railways or PNR are ignored with mismanagement and lack of rail infrastructure especially in Quezon Province which is makes me sad 😔 😔 Ever since I’m a Filipino, I dream to visit Indonesia someday to see my dream ride, train because I already ride buses and land public transportation, railway is my dream so I hope to see this to the Philippines 😊😊 Despite of PNR decline, every station, rail tracks and trains from Calamba to Naga City has a story fill the rise and fall of the railway so hopefully, foreigners will enjoy to visit the Philippines to ride PNR in the future 😊😊 In the future, North-South Commuter Railway will built in Manila as the Modern Railway in Southeast Asia since Whoosh and expected to be opened by 2028 😊😊 With all my heart, I hope to see you in Indonesia soon and I will be always waiting for you 😊😊 Greetings, Mr. Darwin Penaflorida of Calamba City, Laguna in the Philippines 🇵🇭💕🇮🇩
