Motiv Tank Yellowjacket VS Red Hammer Urethane | First Motiv Ball! | The Hype

The Yellow had the look that we don't want out of urethane, starts out ok but then gets over/under due to being too strong/too weak. The Red was GOLD. Read the lane perfectly, didn't affect the pattern and let you just camp out and make the same shot over and over and over again. Also the Red is a Two-Piece ball so it hits real hard. Time to see Purple vs. Yellow. This time same layouts and grits please.

2 constants that I have found while watching most ball review channels is the "Big Hooking Ball, " and the balls are going to work well for "THS" conditions when most of these balls are simply too much for THS conditions by design. Its so irritating. I love the hype channel due to very important information provided during the reviews that almost always provides a usable context that can be utilized as decision points towards ball purchase, "Where im standing, hand position, down-lane targeting, rev rate." Most other channels do not provide this information. I do understand this is a much older post but I came here for the review of the widow solid Urethane ball. Thanks again.

Damn, man. As a Lefty who loves that 'thane, the Yellowjacket looks really good. It's so nice to be able to really hit a ball off the hand and get that smooth, strong, dependable roll. Also, that hit at the pins is impressive.

Would you say the red pearl gets too strong by your 3rd game of league or is it good from start to finish? I have the Caramel Black Widow Urethane and it's great game 1, but game 2 about halfway starts to hit way too high or Brooklyn, would the red pearl be a step down that I could play the same line off the 5-6 board straight to the pocket you think?

This should be very intriguing. Was not disappointed. Grew up throwing urethane but this MCP coverstock is looking good. I have the Motiv Pride and it is a hidden gem! Good stuff brother!

Good video. The Tank looked really good. I have several of the Tanks and throw them regularly. I think this one will compliment the Carbide Tank that I have. Really like the shape of the Tank Yellowjacket.

When you clean the Motiv MCP balls with CtD Life After Death, they don't accumulate so much grime. It may take a few applications, but my Blue Tank has a stronger cover then the Yellowjacket, and it no longer accumulates grime. OTOH, my Carbide Tank still gets grimy after applying Life After Death 12-15 times. But that's one of Motiv's strongest covers. The MCP balls have great pocket carry percentage, and they respond to hand changes like reactive. They also are extremely predictable - whatever you do to the ball is what you are going to get from the ball. You are right that MCP balls do not lane shine as fast as other balls. That is by design. Even after 20-30 games without resurface, they will retain about the same motion as they first had, but they do scan at the usual "stable" number after awhile. Also, MCP balls will read in oil, like shooting cross-lane for spares, when reactive and urethane do not read so much. MCP balls also do not destroy a shot like urethane. Obviously, I am a fan. But not without reason.

Im getting my Yellowjacket this week. I am throwing a Purple Tank and I have it set to be a little stronger than a Pitch Black. Im going to be setting up the Yellowjacket to copare / replace the Pitch Black. I have 2 Top Thrills. 1 I have set to be stronger thank the Purple Tank. I am a little faster and higher revs. So the Yellowjacket with some shine will work well for those really dry / high friction lanes.

If you had a Carbide Tank you would be used to the ball getting dirty. Life After Death by CTD works best to clean them. Motiv ball automatic thumbs up.

Big fan of the tanks. I've had the blitz, desert, and blue tanks... I preferred all of them with polish. The CTD polish works well

Great video. Man, 280 is awesome! My high score is 186 so I'm tryin to break that 2 hundo! I'm also goin back and forth between 2 bowling centers... one is usually cheaper, but they put MASSIVE amounts of oil on their lanes which I hate... but I'm trying to condition myself to be able to play in all conditions any way. My only ball right now is the Hammer Scorpion Sting and I'm loving it!
