@@dannyboy2851 yeah, but considering how well he did in both the Truck and Xfinity Series, his Cup Series stats are quite disappointing. I was watching Darian's video when the notification popped up, so nice timing. As for Elliott's championship, he needs to get great pr people around him ASAP. He needs to market himself his way, and not just rely on NASCAR and sponsors to do this. If done right, he can break through being a NASCAR superstar, to a sports star in general. Flat late at Vegas. Late issue at Phoenix (March). Dumped at Darlington. Late caution at Coke 600. Stupidity at Bristol. Wall-scrape late at Homestead. Difference is he had his "slump" midseason and took a back seat to Hamlin and Harvick, but came back to the fore in the final third. Much deserved champion, regardless of the playoff format. What I think this means is we could see a return to Hendrick domination in NASCAR and not just from the 9. Larson in that 5 is going to be scary and he'll be driving with a chip on his shoulder too.

Imo, this playoff situation explains the most hipocrisy of Nascar fans in general, when theyre favorite driver gets good at it, then they simply change their opinions because of the driver, that thing doesnt make sense at all, using your driver as an argument in that level its very hipocrite (example: I accept the fact that Harvick could get a championship if it wasnt the playoff system, he would deserve it, but what i dont accept is people who were hating the playoff system now liking it just because Chase has won using it in his favour, this is stupid tbh), Nascar fans can also like a win of their favorite driver even if it was a dirty way (some Dale Sr. wins included), and what about the fact that they dont like the fact of intentional wrecks but love the time when Kenseth took Logano out? This is ridiculous imo

And he's kinda grown up at the end of the JJ era who was very mild mannered compared to a Stewart or Brad K. From what I've seen his daddy was kinda the same way. Not everyone can be a Clint Bowyer or Kyle Busch personality with often times no filter.

1:43 I can say first-hand that this is true. I hadn't watched NASCAR for a while before this year. When they returned from the hiatus, I became a fan of Chase's, due in no small part to his reaction to Kyle Busch wrecking him at Darlington. I've watched so much more NASCAR this year to root for Chase than I had the last several years

"hes the lead dog at chevy" Ricky Stenthouse: am I a joke to you
@k18rock223 жыл бұрын
He definitely is. Outside of two plate track wins stenhouse has done nothing. Being the top dog has more to do with results than time in a car. And Ricky, or as some call him, Wrecky, just doesn't have them

A lot of people hate this playoff format but it’s truly the hardest format to win a NASCAR championship it’s definitely harder than the older format because every race definitely matters in this format you can’t just get a huge point lead and coast to a championship.

The elimination format is “harder” because it’s the NASCAR Football League. Points should matter every race with no BS fake gimmick resets. The non-elimination chase format will always be the best chase format

@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT I hated this format until my favorite driver won Sunday because that was definitely some clutch driving winning martinsville and then winning the championship race that’s definitely stepping up but I truly hated the old format worse because I hated seeing drivers get a big points lead and then coast to the championship and just trying to get top 20 finishes the last five races.

I think Bubba should adopt the villain role. Come out with a Soviet flag, kneel during the anthem and make 🤟🤟 during the prayer. Then he could put the name of some deceased meth head over his door instead of his own name. Would be hilarious.

Great video i hope they will bring back the 750 hp package it makes for better racing. It's harder to 750 hp to the ground smothely there are drivers like Jeff Gordon the GOAT knew how save his tires for the long run . Some drivers burn there's up quicker that's what makes it better racing. I am also a CHASE ELLIOTT fan because when Jeff Gordon retired i didn't know who I would pull for i had known that chase was a development driver for Hendrick . So when I seen how much talent that chase has watching him in the Nation wide series he drove like a veteran so i knew he was going to be awesome in cup series.

Elliott definitely benefitted from the playoff format that I do not like. That being said, Elliott did choke/lose a lot of wins away when we came back from Covid (example Bristol, The Kyle Bush incident, the Truex run-in) so I think he was the third most competitive driver in 20 behind Harvick/Hamlin despite Keselowski having more wins. I feel like Harvick was so dominant all season, its weird he isnt champion, but I also dont feel like Elliotts championship is illegitimate. I think a return to a total point system is needed and its a system that Elliott can win championships in as well. Hell with all the road courses on the 21 schedule, he has to be the favorite going in to next year! Elliott is great for the sport!

Sorry, but as someone who HATES this format and is an Elliott fan, it doesn’t change my mind that this format is STUPID. Hamlin and Harvick were the most deserving champions this year. Over a 10 race Chase, Elliott wins the title. So he’s third on the list. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited that Chase won. But it doesn’t even come close to changing my mind.

Consider Chase the best chase format driver of the year. When someone ask me who the dominant season driver was without a doubt that would be Kevin Harvick and I’m a Hamlin fan. Not even debatable. The chase format has a lot of hardcore motor sports fans not taken how they select a championship seriously.
@dominicdingess71403 жыл бұрын
10:38-12:50, yep. That's how I feel too. As good as it is that Chase won right now as a young guy, It just "legitimized" a bad format to a lot of fans. But just wait until this format inevitably screws him. Then everyone will all of a sudden remember their issues with it.

Sucks that the manufacturers want NASCAR to start leaning towards hybrid systems. With this next decade of the sport, I hope it doesn't start moving towards the sportscar racing concept of cars.

There's currently a two-month wait to get one of those championship hats they put on Chase Elliott right after he won.
